Eldor MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive Official Images and Details

Mattel has officially revealed its Masters of the Universe Origins Eldor action figure, finally bringing another character from the vintage Powers of Grayskull era into the Origins lineup. Eldor has been on our radar for a while, especially after he appeared on the back of the Snake Lair packaging. We recently reported that he was coming to Mattel Creations, and now we have the official images and all the details. Priced at $22, Eldor will be available exclusively through Mattel Creations, with Club Grayskull members getting early access on November 11, 2026, at 9 AM PT. General sales begin November 12 at 9 AM PT. For longtime MOTU collectors, this is another opportunity to add a character to the collection who was originally planned for the vintage toy line but never made it to store shelves.

Eldor

Eldor was originally developed for the Powers of Grayskull concept, where he served as a wise wizard and mentor to He-Ro in the prehistoric world of Preternia. Although the original figure never reached production, the character has remained an interesting piece of MOTU history. Mattel has stayed close to that vintage concept with his brown jacket, fur-textured collar, gray clothing, gold belt, and long white beard. The wooden-style staff and Book of Living Spells are here as well, two accessories closely associated with the character.

The packaging continues the Powers of Grayskull theme with a vintage-inspired box and I particularly like that Mattel has given these characters packaging that acknowledges their place in MOTU history rather than treating them as another regular Origins release.

Mattel hasn’t forgotten the packaging illustrations either. The artwork draws from the Powers of Grayskull mythology, featuring Eldor using his magical abilities in a Preternian setting fending off creatures we are not sure about but we do see The Great Black Wizard might be behind this.

Another welcome addition is the Gauntlet of the Dead mini comic. The cover features Eldor alongside another white-bearded wizard, continuing the fantasy storytelling associated with the Powers of Grayskull era. I’m glad Mattel continues to include mini comics with these releases, particularly when they’re tied to characters whose original stories never received much attention in the vintage toy line.

Mattel has given Eldor a new head sculpt with swept-back brown hair, heavy eyebrows, and a full white beard. His brown jacket features sculpted fur along the collar and front edges, while the gray shirt and pants stay close to the vintage prototype design. The crystal ball is one of the more interesting accessories, featuring swirling blue and white patterns inside a translucent sphere with a gold-colored base.

His wooden-style staff has an irregular, twisted design that fits the character’s origins as an ancient wizard. Mattel has also made the hood, jacket, and belt removable. Those are interesting choices for an Origins release, especially with a character whose clothing is such a recognizable part of his design. Between the staff, crystal ball, and Book of Living Spells, there’s a good selection of accessories here.

Here’s a closer look at Eldor’s head sculpt. The brown eyebrows, blue eyes, and long white beard are all important parts of his original appearance, and the fur-textured collar adds another layer of sculpted detail around his neck. Eldor is one of those characters who never had the opportunity to become part of the original vintage collection, so seeing him finally receive an Origins release is a welcome development for fans of the Powers of Grayskull era.

As for the accessories, Eldor comes with his wooden-style staff, removable hood, crystal ball, and Book of Living Spells. The book features symbols printed across its interior pages, while the crystal ball has a separate gold-colored base. The removable jacket and belt are additional features that go beyond simply recreating the original character design. It’s a fairly substantial accessory selection for a $22 Origins figure.
