The MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection figures have been a joy to collect and the fun just keeps on rolling in! We got wind that Evil-Lyn was coming to the Cartoon Collection back in February 2024 and she was revealed as part of the MOTU March Madness 2024 event where she was officially revealed and put up for preorder! One aspect of the Cartoon Collection Evil-Lyn figure that was overlooked by Mattel was the inclusion of a cape. This left many collector’s scratching their heads and wondering why the MOTU team did not include a cape for Evil-Lyn, especially since Mattel has been making soft goods wearables for an eternity! Also, the card art for Evil-Lyn shows her illustrated with a cape so this furthers the question of why she was not designed with a cape. Lucky for us, there is a rather inexpensive solution. Mr. Home Arcade sought out the Cape Master to fix this oversight from Mattel! We’ve also included Cartoon Lyn’s official images and a referenced to her Filmation look so you can what a difference a cape adds to the figure! You can also check out Mr. Home Arcade‘s YouTube review of Evil-Lyn with the custom cape!
Evil-Lyn Custom Cape Master Cape
There is a HUGE difference adding a cape makes to the overall look and feel of the figure. Since Mattel is going so far as to create special pack-ins that pay homage to their Filmation appearance, we feel that this was a HUGE miss from Mattel!

From the front and back views, you can clearly see how the cape adds that extra something special and now that I have seen this figure with a cape, her stock figure definitely looks lie there is something missing. I love that you can see Evil-lyn’s silhouette as the light shines through the cape!

The side views of Evil-Lyn show the depth and dimension this cape adds to the displayability of the figure.

The cape easily attaches to Evil-Lyn by tucking the cape under the black piece of her collar. Now looking at this image with and without the cape, it is interesting that Mattel included a black collar piece in her design and did not give her a cape.

Evil-Lyn looks like she is pulled right out of the Filmation cartoon as her outfit is painted in deep and light purples! She also comes with the Shaping Staff as her pack-in!

Evil-Lyn Filmation’s Appearance
The only female member of the Evil Warriors, she is an evil witch who aids Skeletor as his second-in-command with her powers of darkness. Her Filmation appearance colors were dark purple with blue accents. Her helmet is colored in black to match her cape and there are purple and blue tie-ins that match her outfit.
