Extendar MOTU Origins Prototype Details and Test Shot In-Hand Comparisons

Extendar is one of the MOTU Origins figures that was revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2023 but has not gone up for preorder on Mattel Creations yet. There is one seller on eBay who is always listing various test shots from action figure lines and he recently put up another Extendar prototype figure for sale and Mr. Home Arcade was the only bidder for it and he won him, along with the Stratos Cartoon Collection prototype. Mr. Home Arcade was gracious enough to send over photos comparing Extendar with various MOTU Origins figures and the Turtles of Grayskull deluxe Krang.

Extendar Prototype Details

The Extendar prototype was cast in clear plastic and, as Mr. Home Arcade decribes in his own words, “he’s a Chonky Boy!” Much larger than expected, it appears that Extendar could be our first deluxe figure coming from Mattel Creations.

Here are some up close shots of the extension pieces. The curved pieces are for the arms and the straight pieces are for the legs.

To get an idea of how large the arms for Extendar are, Mr. Home Arcade swapped the arms onto He-Man and they look massive!

Extendar Height Comparisons

We know that the Cartoon Collection figures are taller in stature than the “Vintage” MOTU Origins figures and Extendar, with all of his extensions, towers over both Stratos and He-Man. Without his extensions, Entendar is just as tall as MOTU Origins He-Man and a little smaller than Cartoon Collection Stratos.

Comparing Extendar to the deluzxe Turltes of Grayskull Krang, we can see that he is just as tall as the MOTU Origins x TMNT crossover behemoth, with his extra midsection. It’s cool to see Extendar next to the Cartoon Collection Stratos prototype.

Extendar Test Shots Version 1

Extendar was revealed during a MOTU Origins panel at SDCC 2023 and the image pictured below is a test shot of the figure, which is cast in a translucent plastic. He scales nicely when he is not extended, as you can see as he stands in front of Ram Man and Roboto.

we saw the front of Extendar at SDCC 2023 but it’s cool to the details from the back of the figure.

This version of Extendar is is a mashup of the vintage and MOTU Classics version. Extendar will come with extension pieces that you will have to snap it for his arms and legs but will have an extending torso and neck from inside his body. Pictured below is a test hot of the neck extension with the peace sign! You can also see how his arm and leg parts fit together.

Extendar is a as tall as the Masters of the WWE Universe Andre the Giant and you can also see the arm swap with the eighth wonder of the world.

Extendar SDCC 2023 Reveal

Coming Spring 2024, Extendar’s extension pieces are separate parts to help maintain elbow articulation. He has removable parts just like the rest of the figures. His head and torso extend from inside his body and he comes with his transforming shield.
