GI Joe Classified Series Preorders will be dropping on Entertainment Earth’s Drop Zone! Could they be figures from London Comic Con 2023?
According to the Drop Zone on Entertainment Earth, we could be seeing more GI Joe Classified Series preorders drop on October 31, 2023. Since SDCC 2023, we’ve had preorders go live and names added to the pipeline reveal list. We had the VAMP go up for preorder from the 1027 Hasbro Pulse Premium FanStream 2023 and London Comic Con 2023 is in full swing! Dio images of Metal-Head and Mutt and Junkyard have been revealed at the con from across pond! We could very well see those two figures go up for preorder but there are several other figures that have been digital render revealed that could also go up for preorder. The clue from EE’s Drop Zone says, “Say “yo” to this awesome launch of secret figures from Hasbro! The figures are set to go live at 10am PT / 1pm ET on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Metal-Head and Mutt and Junkyard Preorder
Metal-Head and Mutt and Junkyard preorders drop at 10am PT / 1PM ET so check back as we’ll update this post with the direct links to online retailers:
Digital Render Reveals
Here are the digital render reveals we could see turned into preorders!
Metalhead
Metal-Head is the epitome of a human war machine as he’s equipped with an array of rocket lunchers and guns. The head sculpt on the figure came out really nice as he’s shown gritting his teeth as he gets ready to lay waste to any Joe that crosses his path! Differing from many anti-tank specialists, Metal-Head is someone who rises above enthusiasm to hone his craft and his equipment. The level of glee to which he takes when he destroys enemy armor or even just maintaining his equipment has unnerved his own compatriots in the Iron Grenadier force.

He’s also shown with his classic yellow and red framed glasses and his helmet, which looks amazing! From the dio shots that were revealed at the London Comic Con 2023, collector’s are in for a treat! He has increased efficiency by making his launchers light and ultra-portable, strapped to a special backpack or hip-holstered for easy movement. Special electronics in his visors connect to his launchers enable him to merely see the target to feed coordinates for his missiles. And lastly, he doesn’t need to pull his trigger finger to do the job, his weapons system is voice-activated. All he needs to do is say, “bang.”

Metalhead is a deluxe offering. He comes with rocket launchers that can attach to his wrists. Dual rocket launchers for his backpack. Blast shield on the front of his face. He comes with swappable hair, a ton of blast effects, backpack, rifles, helmet, and a ton of rocket launchers.

Mutt and Junkyard
Thanks again to gi_shark for posting images from the Joe panel at London Comic Con 2023! The Joe team has revealed the dio images of the dynamic duo Mutt and Junkyard! The Joe team is coming out swinging after a lackluster Hasbro 1027 FanStream as they’ve also revealed the dio images of Metal-Head, who was only digital render revealed.

The dio images are great as they show different views of Mutt and Junkyard! We finally get to see Mutt with his mask on and he looks amazing!!!

As you know, these were displayed at SDCC2023 with no announcement at all, we have Mutt & Junkyard. Junkyard Comes with a good boy door face and an angry face. Mutt comes with a muzzle, helmet, googles, a knife, multiple swappable hands, a knight stick, rifle and a hand gun. Mutt was released carded as part of the third series (1984). He was also sold in 1985, then was discontinued domestically in 1986. Mutt came with a black helmet, a black face mask, a black Ingram Mac-11 submachine gun with silencer, a black night stick, a black leash, and a black dog named “Junkyard.”

As a surprise to all of us, Mutt and Junkyard showed up in the Hasbro Display booth, unannounced and all! They look absolutely spectacular, with incredible detail! The Junkyard looks great wearing that dog vest, and Mutt has a very gritty look on his face, They even included arm and chest hair on him!

He has a read a screen on his right forearm to read schematics. On the side of the SMS it has a control screen on it. It comes with pneumatic weapons as well. Rockets s are about 9” long each.

SMS and Techno Viper
During the HasLab HISS Tank reveal, Lenny made a point about letting fans know that the HISS Tank comes with a tow hitch. All of the unlocks thus far have been add ons to the main HISS tank plus several figures, which leaves an empty tow hitch. What would be the perfect candidate for to take a ride on the back of the HISS Tank?

Cobra Sentry and Missile System (SMS)
We feel that the Cobra Sentry and Missile System (SMS) would be the PERFECT candidate for that tow hitch! It is a small form factor missile deployment weapon that would be the perfect add on for a HasLab campaign as a ‘thank you’ for ALL of the backers that have made the HISS Tank a success! It has two wheels and a piece to connect it to the HISS Tank’s tow hitch so they are a match made in heaven!
History of the SMS
Back in 1985, Hasbro created the S.M.S.(Sentry and Missile System), which is a is a two-component weapon system, consisting of a HISS Tank and the surface to air missile system. Like Hasbro is doing with their HasLab creations, Sears wanted Hasbro to create store exclusives to help draw customers to their stores or places orders through their catalogs. Similar to that of the C.A.T. tank, Hasbro created the Sentry and Missile System (S.M.S.) for Cobra! This set included a red Cobra H.I.S.S. tank that would tow a redecorated M.M.S. in black with red missiles. But where did this originally come from? Surely Hasbro wasn’t doing repaints early on in the line! Well, they were so let’s see where this originated from and the several repaints that followed through the years.

Big Boa is Cobra’s trainer. He has swappable heads. Finally, we can see what he looks like with his helmet off. He has his teeth knocked out, and a grizzled face. He comes with some weights and swappable hands. Big Boa was first released carded as part of the sixth series (1987). He was also sold in 1988 and was discontinued domestically in 1989. Big Boa came with a silver mouthpiece, two red flexsteel-mesh boxing gloves with white Cobra logos, a brown punching bag, and a black stand for the punching bag.

Airborne
Airborne is in his classic O-Ring color scheme. The optics can plug onto his helmet. He is really geared up with a layered look to his helmet and gear. Airborne will be released before the Dragonfly.. He is the G.I. Joe Team’s helicopter assault trooper and debuted in 1983. It’s super cool to finally see his digital render to envision what a Classified Series figure of Airborne would look like. His real name is Franklin E. Talltree, and his rank is that of sergeant E-5. Airborne was born in a Navajo Reservation in Arizona. His primary military specialty is an airborne infantryman, while as his secondary military specialty he is a helicopter gunship gunner.

Quick Kick
Until 2008, the only Quick Kick action figure to ever come out was part of the 1985 series of A Real American Hero toy line. He came with a small, dark silver backpack (round on bottom), a silver sword with round hilt, and silver nunchukus.

Techno Viper
This is the original colorway of the Techno Viper. He comes with a readout on a data pad on his wrist. He has pneumatic toys that are sticking out of his backpack. Similar to the one that comes with the HISS Tank, but

Retro Scarlet
Next up we got Retro Scarlett which was a foregone conclusion once we got Glenda! Floating pony tails. She comes with a quiver that the arrows can fit into, She comes with arrows, swappable hands, 2 rifles, backpack and stand. The vintage one is shown below for your reference.

Retro Recondo
Redeco of the Tiger Force version in his classic colors. He comes with the same accessories as the Tiger Force version and he will be on a retro card back and comes with a stand.

Retro Duke
