GI Joe Classified Series SDCC 2026 Panel Reveals and Information

The GI Joe Classified Series team absolutely brought it at San Diego Comic Con 2026, and the panel was packed with reveals and announcements that have me genuinely fired up for the future of this line. We got a mix of official figure unveils, name-only teases, and one massive vehicle announcement that I think is going to send shockwaves through the community. Let’s start with the name-only reveals, because even without seeing sculpts or packaging, these are exciting picks that show Hasbro is continuing to dig deep into the GI Joe roster. The HEAT Viper is a fantastic pull for Cobra army builders, Daina from the Oktober Guard is a character that fans of the international team have been waiting on for a long time, and then there’s Flatline, a new Dreadnok character that immediately has me curious about what direction they’re taking with the design and backstory. The Dreadnoks have been one of the most fun corners of the Classified Series to collect, and adding a fresh face to that crew is a smart move that keeps things unpredictable. But the moment that probably had the room buzzing the loudest was the announcement of a made to order Thunder Machine, which is a huge deal for anyone who’s been hoping Hasbro would tackle more vehicles at that scale and level of ambition. A made to order approach makes a lot of sense for something this size, and I’m really hoping the execution matches the hype. On top of all that, we got details on the next wave of Classified Series figures along with preorder dates for multiple upcoming releases, so collectors have a lot to keep their eyes on in the weeks ahead. This was one of those panels where every reveal landed, and I can’t wait to see official images start rolling out for everything they teased.

Lara Croft
A new Lara Croft figure created in partnership with Crystal Dynamics was shown. It features her classic dual-pistol look, additional accessories and premium card artwork. The mainline release was scheduled to open for preorder at 5:00 p.m. Eastern, with an expected release around October. Lara Croft is also expected to join the G.I. Joe universe through an upcoming crossover.

The front of the card features illustrated artwork of Lara Croft in her classic green tank top, shorts, and dual thigh holsters, with the figure packaged in a blister tray alongside accessories including two pistols and a pair of climbing ice axes. Night Force Psyche-Out

A Night Force version of Psyche-Out was officially shown. The updated character is positioned as a technological counter to Crystal Ball and other psychic or fear-based Cobra threats.

The front of the Psych-Out box features the Night Force sub-line badge and artwork depicting the figure in a dark tactical outfit against a blue-lit backdrop. The back panel shows accessory callouts including alternate heads and hands, along with an illustrated action scene of the character in the same dark color scheme.

A newly updated Falcon figure was revealed with a revised head sculpt. The figure includes his shotgun, backpack, knife and other familiar accessories.

The closer view highlights Falcon’s green beret and the compact binoculars sculpted against his chest, with brown leather gloves and a wristwatch on his forearm. His backpack is packed with gear, including a coiled rope and a long rifle barrel extending above his shoulder.

The Cobra Valkyrie is receiving a classic blue-uniform treatment as a single release. She includes multiple firearms and accessories previously associated with the character’s earlier two-pack appearance.

They are displayed in a presentation slide, each equipped differently, one carrying a rifle with a scope and the other holding a pair of pistols. The blue uniform, helmet with face shield, and black boots are consistent across both, with gear like holsters, pouches, and knee pads distributed slightly differently between the two.

Flash joins the Classified Series, bringing the line closer to completing the Original 13 G.I. Joe team. He includes his signature helmet, laser rifle and equipment inspired by his original figure.

The helmeted version of Flash wears a quilted red chest plate over olive green fatigues, with matching red kneepads and elbow pads breaking up the military green.

Falcon, Cobra Valkyrie and Flash were described as mainline releases scheduled for preorder the following Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern.

A new Marauders-themed Mutt and Junkyard two-pack was shown.

It will be shared between Amazon and participating fan-channel retailers, including stores such as BigBadToyStore.

The S.N.A.K.E. Armor returns with a Crimson and M.A.R.S.-inspired color scheme connected to Destro’s expanding storyline. This release was announced as an Amazon exclusive.

The Classified Series Triple T vehicle was officially revealed. The large vehicle includes a removable canopy, spinning treads and several display configurations inspired by Sgt. Slaughter’s animated appearances.

It will be a Hasbro Pulse exclusive, giving an August preorder date.

A three-figure battle pack containing two Cobra Snow Serpents and one Steel Corps Trooper received its first physical-product reveal. The set is intended to complement the larger arctic-themed Classified Series releases.

The left panel captures a sniper figure in full arctic camouflage, prone with a long rifle braced on a bipod, with snow and mountain peaks filling the scene behind. The right panel shows three figures trekking across the frozen landscape, each outfitted with bulky cold-weather packs and helmets.

Name Only Reveals

Hardball will finally join the Classified Series lineup in 2027. The baseball-inspired G.I. Joe debuted in the original A Real American Hero line in 1988 and is best known for carrying a large grenade launcher. Hasbro joked that after adding basketball and football-inspired characters to the collection, it was time to bring the team’s baseball player into the six-inch line.

Another version of Shipwreck is also planned for 2027. This figure will take inspiration from the blue-and-black Shipwreck released through Dollar General during the later years of the G.I. Joe 3.75-inch line. Hasbro clarified that the Classified figure will not be an exact recreation, but it will retain the more tactical appearance of that release, including its updated shirt design. Shipwreck will also come with a new animal companion. It will not be Polly, giving Hasbro an opportunity to introduce another animal character into the Classified Series.

Hasbro confirmed that Daina will join the G.I. Joe Classified Series in 2027, marking another expansion of the fan-favorite Oktober Guard roster. Originally introduced in G.I. Joe: The Movie and later incorporated into the broader G.I. Joe mythos, Daina serves as a member of the Soviet-based Oktober Guard. During the panel, the design team explained that they are beginning to further develop the ongoing conflict involving Destro, M.A.R.S. Industries and Darklonia, with Daina helping to represent the forces standing against the Iron Grenadiers. Her addition continues Hasbro’s commitment to expanding beyond the Original 13 and Cobra’s core villains by bringing more internationally recognized factions into the Classified Series. Daina joins a growing lineup of Oktober Guard characters, giving collectors another key piece of one of G.I. Joe’s most popular allied teams.

Hasbro confirmed that another Dreadnok will be added to the Classified Series in 2027 calle Flatline. The team described the selection as one of the more unusual ideas developed before former Classified Series designer Lenny Panzica departed the brand. Hasbro also called the character particularly “unhinged,” suggesting this may be one of the more eccentric members of the extended Dreadnok roster rather than one of its best-known remaining characters.

HEAT Viper, a new troop-building figure is planned for the 2027 assortment. Hasbro joked that collectors would need plenty of laser rifles to fire at their Classified Series vehicles. The comment suggests the figure will be designed as an army builder that fans can purchase in multiples rather than as a single named character.

Hasbro also confirmed that a Ninja Force two-pack is still coming. Snake Eyes and Jinx would include alternate heads or additional display options. The designers described the upcoming figures as authentically connected to the original Ninja Force aesthetic while still fitting alongside the modern Classified Series versions of characters such as Snake Eyes and other members of the brightly colored ’90s team. Hasbro plans to reveal renders for these figures between the convention and New York Comic Con, with additional details expected as the 2027 Classified Series lineup takes shape.

Thunder Machine Reveal

Hasbro saved one of its biggest announcements for the end of the panel, confirming that the legendary Thunder Machine is officially in development for the G.I. Joe Classified Series. The team shared several key details about what collectors can expect. Designed as a premium release, the Thunder Machine will feature significant playability and customization options that go beyond the original 1986 vehicle. The designers emphasized that they wanted to “Classify” the Thunder Machine, adding new features and modern engineering while staying true to its iconic Dreadnok roots. One thing they made clear, however, is that the vehicle will not include electronics. Hasbro also addressed one of the biggest concerns collectors typically have with large vehicle releases: bundled figures. Rather than forcing fans to purchase multiple copies of the same Dreadnok leader, the team confirmed that Thrasher will be released separately in 2027. That approach allows collectors who want to build multiple Thunder Machines to do so without ending up with duplicate drivers. Additional details—including pricing, campaign information and a prototype—will be revealed in August, with the campaign expected to launch in September. Hasbro also plans to have a finished prototype on display during New York Comic Con so collectors can get a close look before deciding whether to back the project. Although the company stopped short of officially calling it a HasLab during the panel, it was presented as a major premium offering expected to arrive in summer 2027.

Hasbro also announced that 2027 will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1987 animated classic G.I. Joe: The Movie with a dedicated retro-carded lineup inspired by the film. Rather than producing just a single commemorative figure, the team confirmed that the entire winter Retro Cardback wave will focus on characters from the movie. According to the panel, the assortment will include a mix of fan-favorite movie characters, figures that have never before appeared on retro cardbacks, and previously exclusive releases that will receive the retro treatment for the first time. The designers also revealed that the packaging will feature a special 40th Anniversary movie logo, helping distinguish the collection from previous Retro Cardback waves. While Hasbro stopped short of revealing the character lineup, the announcement opens the door for many of the film’s most memorable heroes and villains to receive new releases or updated packaging. With 2027 marking four decades since the animated feature introduced characters like Lt. Falcon, Jinx, Chuckles, Big Lob, Pythona, Golobulus and Nemesis Enforcer to fans, collectors can expect the movie to play a major role in the Classified Series throughout the anniversary year. Hasbro indicated that additional details on the 40th Anniversary program—including the first character reveals—will be shared later this year as the 2027 lineup begins to take shape.
