Gym Bro Skeletor MOTU Chronicles SDCC Exclusive In-Hand Images
I love it when the community comes through like this, and @retrouniverse2.0 came through with some amazing, exclusive, in-hand shots of the Gym Bro Skeletor MOTU Chronicles SDCC Exclusive he received directly from Mattel. We shared the official images not long ago, but seeing this guy outside of Mattel’s controlled lighting really tells you what you’re actually getting, and I think collectors are going to be pleased. The sculpt work on that tank top and those sweatbands translates just as well in person as it did in the promo shots, and the overall color choices pop without looking cheap or overly saturated. Although the dream sequence in the MOTU movie was brief, there’s a fun absurdity to Skeletor hitting the gym that could easily fall flat, but the execution here leans into the comedy while still keeping the quality you’d expect from a convention exclusive. The proportions, the accessories, the expression on that skull face all sell the concept completely. What I appreciate most from these in-hand photos is being able to see the paint application up close and get a real sense of scale of the weights and the textures. It’s one thing to get hyped from official reveals, but community photos like these help collectors make informed decisions about whether to chase a piece on the secondary market. Gym Bro Skeletor is an absolute riot, decked out in a purple sleeveless hoodie, matching gym shorts with a drawstring waist, striped tube socks, and laced-up sneakers, all over that signature blue skin. The dumbbell gripped tight against that iconic skull grin ties the whole gym-rat concept together perfectly, and @retrouniverse2.0 really nailed the framing to show off how well all these elements come together from head to toe.

You can see the fun accessories here, with a chunky sculpted dumbbell and an actual soft goods towel draped over one arm. The sculpted drawstrings on both the hoodie and the shorts have a nice natural drape to them, adding a small but effective touch of realism to the whole gym outfit.

@retrouniverse2.0 posed him with a loaded barbell racked across his shoulders, and the sheer size of those stacked plates against his frame sells the gym-bro concept hard. The purple wristbands and fingerless glove sculpt on those clenched blue fists add a nice detail you can appreciate with the arms up and flexed like this.

The wide, planted stance with feet spread apart and knees slightly bent gives you a clear sense of him bracing for a heavy deadlift, the barbell loaded with massive plates on each side. Those sneakers with their sculpted laces and layered sole detail get a good look here with the full body on display.

The way Retro Universe Canada framed this with the towel draped over the barbell in the foreground really sells the vibe of a mid-workout grind, that skull face peeking out from under the hood with a clenched grin. The dumbbells have fantastic sculpted detail, with ridged weight plates stamped with small skull-and-crossbones emblems that are easy to miss but a brilliant touch.

The raised fist and flexed bicep put those massively sculpted blue arms on full display, every vein and muscle fiber carved deep into the surface. You can see the hoodie’s ram skull logo printed on the chest, a fun detail that fits the overall gym-rat mashup.

The side profile gives you a great look at the sculpted fabric folds running down the hoodie and shorts, with deep creases and bunched wrinkles that sell the look of real athletic wear over that muscular frame. The purple wristbands have a nice ribbed texture to them, sitting snug against those thick blue forearms with clean separation between the band and the skin.

The sneakers are the star here, with sculpted crossover laces, layered panels, and a small pink gem medallion on the side that gives them a distinctly Skeletor-flavored design you’d honestly want on a real pair. The tube socks with their purple striped ribbing sit perfectly above the high-tops, and this close-up from @retrouniverse2.0 really lets you soak in just how much craft went into footwear that could easily have been an afterthought.

Here’s another cool shot of Gym Bro Skeletor curling that dumbbell, with the overhead perspective giving you a fun downward look right into the hollow eye sockets of that grinning skull face framed deep inside the hood. The pushed-up sleeve reveals the full bulk of that sculpted forearm, and you can see how the hoodie bunches and compresses around the shoulder as the arm curls inward.

The side profile here shows off the smooth contour of the hood as it drapes over the back of the skull, with the fabric sculpt tapering down into the fitted torso of the hoodie. From this angle, you also get a nice view of how the blue jogger-style pants sit against the legs, with sculpted wrinkles gathering naturally behind the knees.

The hood is a soft, rubbery piece that pops off entirely, revealing the full bare skull underneath with a purple sweatband wrapped tight around the crown. You can see the bone texture continues all the way over the top and back of the cranium, so the sweatband-and-skull combo gives you a completely different display option from the hooded look.
