Huge thanks to Mattel for sending us an official press release and we’ve seen some impressive prop replicas come out of the Masters of the Universe world over the years, but a life-size Havoc Staff from the Chronicles line is the kind of release that makes you stop scrolling and immediately start figuring out where in your collection room it’s going to live. This isn’t just a static display piece either, which is what really sets it apart. The Havoc Staff features button-activated lights, sounds, and a smoke effect that brings Skeletor’s iconic weapon to life in a way that feels like it was pulled straight out of Snake Mountain. Even better, striking the ground with the bottom of the staff activates additional lights and sounds, so you can channel your inner Lord of Destruction and really commit to the bit. The staff comes with smoke solution included, and if you find yourself running low after one too many dramatic throne room reenactments, additional non-toxic water-based fog fluid can be purchased separately at most hobby stores, which is a nice detail that tells you this thing is built for repeated use and not just a one-and-done gimmick. This will available for preorder through Amazon and Mattel Creations at $189.99 on April 15, 2026, and for a piece like this with that level of interactive functionality, I think the price point hits the sweet spot for collectors who want something that commands attention in any MOTU display. I can already picture this thing propped up next to a Masterverse Skeletor shelf and stealing the entire show. Feast your eyes on the images below and let us know if you’re pulling the trigger on this one.

Official Images

The Havoc Staff’s ram skull topper has a weathered bone finish with deep sculpted cracks and textured ridges across the curling horns. The glowing blue eye socket looks like it’s using translucent plastic over an internal LED, and with the built-in smoke function activated, the whole effect is impressive.

A close-up reveals the intricate vertebrae sculpted along the spine section beneath the skull, with translucent amber plastic peeking through the gaps between each bone segment. The dark metallic finish on the coiled snake wrapping around the staff’s shaft has a nice textured quality to it.

The staff’s long shaft has a wrapped leather-look texture with a warm brown tone, broken up by a silver metallic band near the lower section. I like how the pointed metal tip at the base doubles as the strike-activated trigger for the lights and sounds feature.

The life-size Havoc Staff is shown held for scale, and the thing is massive. The ram skull alone looks nearly as wide as a person’s torso, with those curling horns extending well beyond the shoulders.

The staff measures 68 inches tall, shown next to a 72-inch human silhouette for scale. It’s worth noting the included smoke solution is water-based and non-toxic, with additional fog fluid available separately at hobby stores.

The back of the ram skull reveals a battery compartment opening, a USB charging port, and a circular speaker grille recessed into the bone surface. The horns have a dark, glossy finish with pronounced ridged grooves running their full length, tapering to sharp black tips at each end.

The skull’s underside houses two small switches flanking the USB-C port, likely controlling the light and sound modes independently. The speaker grille features an organic, branch-like cutout pattern that blends surprisingly well with the bone sculpt surrounding it.

A close-up of the ram skull shows the eye socket fitted with a green translucent orb instead of the blue seen in earlier shots, suggesting the staff cycles through multiple lighting colors. The metallic silver coil where the skull meets the brown shaft has a nice organic spiral to it, bridging the bone and wood textures cleanly.

A close-up of the ram skull from a slightly different angle shows the green orb seated deep in the eye socket, with the off-white bone surface carrying fine etched detailing across the cheek and temple area. The vertebrae trailing down from the base of the skull have a natural yellowed ivory tone that contrasts nicely against the dark metallic coil beneath them.

The staff is shown here with both green orbs glowing in the eye sockets, and the brown wood-grain shaft catches a warmer tone under this lighting. A small silver pommel ring sits at the midpoint of the shaft, separating two distinct sections of the wrapped texture.

The full accessory and assembly layout shows all the individual components of the life-size Havoc Staff broken down into separate pieces, including the ram skull, a pair of detachable curling horns, multiple interlocking brown shaft segments, the vertebrae neck section, and a USB charging cable alongside the included smoke solution bottle. It’s cool to see how the staff breaks down into modular sections, which should make storage and transport much easier for something that stands nearly six feet tall.
