Trap Jaw MOTU Core Movie Figure Confirmed
We’ve been keeping an eye on this one and it’s finally coming together in a big way, because the MOTU Core movie Trap Jaw that we first spotted when Amazon MX listings surfaced for both him and Man-At-Arms now has official images attached, and folks, feast your eyes on this because he looks fantastic. Going from an early listing with no visuals to a full set of polished product shots is exactly the kind of journey that makes tracking these things so rewarding, and Trap Jaw here hits the sweet spot between the movie’s grittier aesthetic and the classic character design we all know and love. The official images give us a great look at his signature mechanical arm, and the action feature on this one is worth calling out because the cannon arm actually opens up, which is a fun throwback to the kind of play features that made the vintage line so memorable while still fitting the updated movie look. I’m really into how they’ve translated the character into this format, keeping the core identity intact with that cybernetic jaw, the belt, and the overall menacing silhouette while giving him a design language that clearly ties into the live-action film’s visual direction. The cannon arm opening mechanism looks like it could be a satisfying little detail both for display and for anyone who just likes to fidget with their figures on a shelf, and honestly who among us doesn’t do that from time to time. With Man-At-Arms also on the way for this same movie wave, Mattel is building out the MOTU Core movie roster at a solid pace, and I’m curious to see who else might be waiting in the wings. For now though, Trap Jaw is shaping up nicely and these images are a welcome confirmation that what started as a quiet listing is very much becoming a reality.
Movie Figures with Action Features
To put this Trap Jaw figure into context, he is part of the figure assortment with Havoc Staff Attack Skeletor and Power Sword Slash He-Man.

Official Images
Trap Jaw MOTU Core Movie Figure features a light blue skin tone paired with heavy silver armor plating on his legs and shoulder. His arm-mounted cannon has a great metallic gunmetal finish with textured sculpt work, and the tattered dark green loincloth over purple trunks adds a nice contrast to all that metal.

The helmet sits snugly over his green face, and I like how the sculpt captures a sly, almost smirking expression underneath. A brown leather strap runs diagonally across his torso, connecting to the oversized mechanical arm assembly at the shoulder.

The dark navy belt features an ornate emblem sculpted into its center buckle, and the silver wrist cuff on his other arm has a chunky, industrial look that matches the leg armor. It’s cool to see the cannon arm in what appears to be an open, deployed position here.

From the back, the brown leather harness wraps across Trap Jaw’s shoulders with sculpted buckle details where the straps meet. The tattered loincloth has a leathery, reptilian texture to it, with ragged edges that hang naturally over the gray thigh armor.

Outfitted with heavy silver knee guards, the sculpt on each one includes riveted panels and angular plating that gives them a real mechanical, industrial feel. The clenched fist on his non-cannon arm shows off nicely sculpted knuckle detail in that same light blue skin tone.
