March 8, 2025: He-Ro SHIPPING and In-Hand!
That was lightning fast as He-Ro is already shipping and ending up in Collector’s hands! Here are some images posted by some lucky fellas from a He-Man group on Facebook:

He-Ro Preorder and Official Reveal
The Team at Mattel Creations take a deep dive into preteretnia! Reveals He-Ro in an incredible box that pays homage to the Los Amos style packaging in a beautiful box with the Powers of Grayskull box with He-Ro in MOTU Origins form. Yes it is the most powerful Wizard in the Universe! The first recipient of the Powers of Grayskull. All new window box packaging with a minicomic, staff and postcard! His magical staff that opens and spins reveal his magical crystal. They hint at 2 more reveals this year of the Powers of Grayskull.
Here is the official description:
“The Most Powerful Wizard in the Universe arrives in the Origins line for the first time with his iconic golden armor and red cape. He’s prepared to fight the monsters and dinosaurs of Preternia with a magical staff that can spin and open, allowing him to harness the good magic of the Ancient Wizards. Our Club Grayskull membership figure is ready to defend your collection.”

Comes with premium VUM golden armor, cape, gauntlets, and staff weapon

He also comes with a mini comic called He-Ro’s Journey

He-Ro looks stunning holding his staff with a green gem. From the official image, it looks like his armor and boots are vac metal.

His portrait on his head sculpt has a gentle look to, very similar to the unreleased prototype version from the 1980’s.

Here are some screenshots from the event that show off what the actual figure looks like “in person” and he comes with his iconic cape!

Up close you can see the VUM details on the chest armor and boots!

2 More Club Grayskull Exclusives in 2025
According to the news revealed at the event, there will be two more MOTU Origins Club Grayskull Exclusives coming in 2025. Could they be from the Powers of Grayskull line and teased on He-Ro’s box art? If so, we could see Eldor and Sharella making it to the line this year! During the live stream, their exact words were, “”He-Ro along with 2 additional releases throughout the year will debut the most iconic characters in the Powers of Grayskull for the first time in the Origins line.” Could we see even bigger names like Laser Power He-Man and Laser Light Skeletor? Or even BIGGER figures like Megator and Titus, the giants of the Powers of Grayskull.

MOTU Origins Hurricane Hordak
Also mentioned during the live stream, Hurricane Hordak will be the next Mattel Creations exclusive released for the MOTU Origins vintage line! Hurricane Hordak was released in 1985. A deluxe variant of the original Hordak figure, he had a Horde bat on his right hand that created a ‘hurricane” twirling effect. Hurricane Hordak is one of the original vintage deluxe figures we yet to get in the line, so maybe this is a tease of things to come. The original Hurrican Hordak was released in 1985 and came with a spinning Horde bat gimmick on his right hand that could be swapped out for two other accessories, shown below.

We saw Hurrican Hordak teased on the Sy-Klone card back art. Here is a view of the front card art in hi resolution! The colors look incredible, and you can make out the huge army of Horde Troopers coming out of that tower next to Hurricane Hordak with his spinning right hand of evil is the perfect nemesis for Sy-Klone!

Masterverse Updates
Blade’s 1987 Movie Masters of the Universe movie figure packaging was also revealed at the event today!

Deluxe Scaled Masterverse Moss Man
Also reported during the event was a deluxe scaled Masters Masterverse Moss Man is coming!
March 6 2025: He-Ro Mattel Creations Club Grayskull Member Exclusive Figure
Looks like we were spot on in our prediction that He-Ro would be the Powers of the Grayskull figure revealed at the Mattel Creations REVEALED event today! In our travels across the Internet, we discovered an official image of the figure on Mattel’s Customer Support website.

Here is a comparison image of the He-Ro Masters of the Universe prototype from the 1980’s (left) and the MOTU Origins Club Grayskull Mattel Creations exclusive He-Ro. The MOTU Origins version has a more youthful portrait for his head sculpt and the golds are much deeper.

MOTU Origins Figure Lineup and Playset
Fright Zone
Back on February 1, 2025, we reported that a MOTU Origins Fright Zone was seen at German Toy Fair 2025. The German Toy Fair, called Spielwarenmesse. Well now the day that we have all been waiting for, the Fright Zone MOTU Origins Playset Revealed at New York Toy Fair 2025 and it looks glorious! The Fright Zone has been teased numerous times on MOTU Origins card and box art and, given that the Masters of the Universe is celebrating the 40th anniversary of She-Ra and the Princess of Power, a Fright Zone looks s=freaking amazing and is everything we could have asked for in a play sets for the Masters of the Universe Origins line! Thanks to yo_tengo_el_poder for posting these official images of the MOTU Origins Fright Zone!

Here we can see what looks like a super classic and nostalgic Fright Zone playset but totally upgraded from it’s vintage counter part! Let’s start at the top and work our way down. The tree has very detailed crows nesting on the top and the tree has a cool scary face in it. It looks like the center of the tree might be articulated and maybe it opens to capture heroic warriors! The jail cell door looks like the original and there is some sort of gray claw hand in the pit. A rock carved scary face with a jaw full of teeth adorns the side of the playset. But the best part of this playset has to be the full monster! No longer do we have a hand puppet but a full on articulated creature with 6 legs and a body and opening jaw!

The back of the playset reveals some incredible details and play areas as well. There looks to be Hordak’s throne room at the top behind the tree. Then down below there is a weapons rack, the back of the jail cell, and that same clawed hand so perhaps you can turn the playset vertical walls around to play from the inside with the same base.

MOTU Origins Vintage 2-Pack
The Masters of the Universe line is going back to it’s roots and kicking it old school with their reveal of a vintage style He-Man and Skeletor 2-Pack. These figures look amazing and really harken back to their vintage roots where it all started! For our wallets sake, we hope this is not a trend and it’s just a one-off pack that commemorates Evil Lord of Destruction and The Most Powerful Man in the Universe. Huge thanks to yo_tengo_el_poder and Toyark.com for posting images.

As the figures are a throw back to 1980’s and pay homage to them, the paint apps are updated and really make the figures come to life! Here is the official description of the figures:
Masters of the Universe Origins™2-Pack

Cartoon Collection Figure Lineup
Grizzlor
Grizzlor appeared in several She-Ra and the Princess of Power Filmation cartoons and he he was part of Catra’s force squad, following her rise to Force Captain after the defection of Adora. Like many other Horde members, Hordak implied that Grizzlor was a product of Horde science and magic.

Masters of the Universe® Origins Grizzlor® Action Figure
SRP: $17.99 | 6Y+| Fall 2025
This MOTU Origins Grizzlor Action figure joins the Cartoon Collection , inspired by the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe TV series from the ’80s. The hairy henchman of the Evil Horde has a vintage look at 5.5-inch scale, but with the modern posability of 16 movable joints. This MOTU villain comes with a Moon Mirror accessory inspired by the “He Ain’t Heavy” episode. A mini-comic is included for story context.
Photos of Grizzlor from New York Toy Fair 2025 reveals are below.

Fang Man
It is cool to see Fang Man coming to the line as he is a well loved deep cut character that only appeared in one episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. According to the Wiki Grayskull, Fang Man is a blue-skinned reptilian and served as a member of Skeletor’s Evil Warriors and was involved in a meeting at Snake Mountain when his master devised a new plan to conquer Eternia. This involved a complicated use of the Wheel of Infinity and traveling to Eternia’s distant past to a point before Castle Grayskull was created with the intention of building a fortress there in order to place the Wheel of Infinity. Thus, it was expected that the Wheel would spin faster and faster until it exploded, thus destroying Castle Grayskull in the future. Whilst Skeletor supervised the building of the fortress, Fang Man gathered a number of Dragosaurs which he took under his control and used them to pacify the area that was populated by the Snake Clan as well as the Ape Clan.

Masters of the Universe Origins™ Fang Man™ Action Figure
SRP: $17.99 | 6Y+| Fall 2025

Photos of Fang Man from New York Toy Fair 2025 reveals are below.

Orko / Uncle Montork
This Cartoon Collection version of Orko allows you to display him as both Orko and his Uncle Montork, which I think is such a creative way to make this a new figure we haven’t gotten yet! Orko was teased on the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Evil-Lyn cardback and helps build out the heroes! Orko is a “Trollan”, a race of beings from the extradimensional world of Trolla. Like all Trollans, Orko appears to be a diminutive blue humanoid, capable of floating in midair, whose appearance is almost completely hidden beneath a robe, hat, and scarf. Little more than Orko’s hands, ears, and eyes are ever seen by the audience, as Trollan custom only rarely permits the revelation of one’s face. Orko’s face was designed in production drawings but never appeared in the series; when his clothing is removed, he is always obscured.

Masters of the Universe Origins™ Orko™ Action Figure
SRP: $17.99 | 6Y+| Fall 2025
This Masters of the Universe Origins Orko action figure joins the Cartoon Collection , inspired by the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe TV series from the ’80s. The heroic court magician of Castle Grayskull has a vintage look at 5.5-inch scale, but with the modern posability of 16 movable joints. This MOTU hero comes with a swappable Uncle Montork head inspired by the “The Return of Orko’s Uncle” episode. A clear stand provides “floating” appearance and a mini-comic is included for story context.
Photos of Orko from New York Toy Fair 2025 reveals are below.

Bow
This Cartoon Collection version of Bow looks like he stepped right out of the cartoon! He comes complete with his bow and arrow of course! And he is earing what looks like a soft goods cape. Bow was recently teased on Leech’s cardback and we knew that this figure would be coming to the line eventually. Bow is renowned as the best archer in all of Etheria. Equipped with an array of trick arrows, he uses his skills of illusion and his fierce patriotism for Etheria to fight the Evil Horde. Bow is also Princess Adora’s right hand man and best friend. You will notice on the vintage PoP version, that Bow was missing his signature mustache, later corrected by including 2 different heads in the MOTU Classics version. Bow is a fictional character from the She-Ra: Princess of Power cartoon series produced by Filmation in the 1980s. He is one of the main characters and a member of the Great Rebellion, a group fighting against the tyrannical rule of Hordak and his Evil Horde.

Masters of the Universe Origins Cartoon Bow
SRP: $17.99 | 6Y+| Fall 2025
This Masters of the Universe Origins Bow action figure joins the Cartoon Collection and is inspired by the original She-Ra: The Princess of Power TV series from the ’80s; it celebrates the 40thanniversary of the show! The best archer in all of Etheria has a vintage look at 5.5-inch scale, but with the modern posability of 16 movable joints. This MOTU hero comes with a removable harness/cape as well as a bow accessory and one arrow, inspired by the “Bow’s Magical Gift” episode. A mini-comic is included for story context.
A photo of Bow from New York Toy Fair 2025 reveals is below.

Bow is depicted as a master archer and is considered the skilled marksman of the Great Rebellion. He is known for his accuracy and can hit targets with great precision from long distances. He wields a magical bow, which is powered by the Moonstone embedded in its center. This magical weapon allows him to shoot energy arrows, helping him in battles against enemies. In terms of appearance, Bow has a muscular build, often seen wearing a turquoise and purple outfit with feather-like shoulder pads and a distinctive hat. He is depicted as a blonde-haired character with a playful and charismatic demeanor, often cracking jokes and lightening the mood during serious situations.
Bow is characterized as friendly, compassionate, and fiercely loyal to his comrades. He is particularly close to She-Ra, the princess-turned-rebel leader, and they share a strong bond throughout the series. Bow is often portrayed as the love interest of She-Ra, hinting at a romantic relationship between the two characters. Aside from his archery skills, Bow is known to be resourceful and inventive. He often comes up with clever strategies, using gadgets or his quick thinking to aid the Rebellion in their fight against the Evil Horde. He is an essential member of the team due to his skills, charm, and unwavering commitment to the cause. Overall, Bow is a beloved character in the She-Ra: Princess of Power cartoon series. With his archery prowess, sense of humor, and dedication to the cause, he plays a vital role in the adventures of She-Ra and the Great Rebellion, contributing to the show’s popularity among audiences.
Shadow Weaver
Shadow Weaver was most recently teased on Mantenna’s cardback so it is great to see her coming to the line! Shadow Weaver Tease Shadow Weaver is a powerful sorceress and member of The Horde. She is shown as being second-in-command to Hordak, the tyrannical leader of the planet Etheria. When the infant Princess Adora was kidnapped, it was Shadow Weaver who cast a spell on her so that she would believe the deceptions of The Horde and blindly follow their evil ways. She would be amazing to see in the line because, like Octavia, she was never produced in vintage She-Ra and the Princess of Power line! Here is a concept from Cults3D as we can imagine what Shadow Weaver could like as a MOTU Origins figure.

Masters of the Universe Origins Cartoon Shadow Weaver
SRP: $17.99 | 6Y+| Fall 2025
This Masters of the Universe Origins Shadow Weaver action figure joins the Cartoon Collection and is inspired by the original She-Ra: The Princess of Power TV series from the ’80s; it celebrates the 40thanniversary of the show! The powerful sorceress has a vintage look at 5.5-inch scale, but with the modern posability of 16 movable joints. This MOTU Evil Horde spellcaster comes with a witch-sleeved cloak, spell book and wand, inspired by the “The Eldritch Mist”episode. A mini-comic is included for story context.
A photo of Shadow Weaver from New York Toy Fair 2025 reveals is below.

Whiplash
Whiplash was the one figure mysteriously missing from Wave 26. We did not see him revealed yesterday, nor did we see his official images released today. That begs the question as to what is going on with Whiplash, as each of the Cartoon Collection Waves have now been 3 figures. We don’t know if there is some sort of figure assortment changes happening, but in the meantime, we will take a look at the digital concept from Eternal Customs so we can envision what Whiplash could look like as a Cartoon Collection figure. A member of the Evil Warriors, Whiplash is an anthropomorphic reptilian creature. His main asset in battle is his long, bulky tail, which can injure or knock over his opponent by delivering a heavy blow, as well as being able to smash through solid rock.

Masterverse Figure Lineup
Hordak
Masters of the Universe® Masterverse Hordak® Action Figure

His armor includes a chest harness and arm band.

She-Ra
Looking very different than the PoP version of the Masterverse She-Ra version 1, this version of She-Ra is clad in a stunning outfit and a soft goods cape.

According to her official description, they are calling her subline “New Etheria.” Huge thanks to Vex N Toys for the heads up! Here is her official description:

Here we get a nice view of the back and you can see here amazing hairdo!

Terror Claws Skeletor
This figure looks mighty beefy and really leans into the technical nature of how Skeletor would even operate his Claws of Terror!

Images from Mattel’s Masterverse display from New York Toy Fair 2025 are below.

He comes with his classic crop top and a helmet with a mask, which could be from covering his face to prevent all of the blood from getting on his skull from him wielding his terror claws! The claws themselves are huge and have a ton of metal detail that really brings them to life. The hoses that connect to the claws complete the look!

Skell-Ra

He comes with 2 swappable heads, a reversible purple / red cape, and swappable harness and skirt armor pieces, so he can evolve from Skell-Ra into Mumm-Ra. The Sword of Plun-darr completes the double-edged picture.

Official images of Skell Ra are below.

You can switch between Skeletor and Mumm-Ra with the figure’s Sword of Plundarr weapon, a reversible cape, swappable heads, and swappable harness and skirt armor pieces.

He-Man
This is our first look at He-Man mashup could look like and those two make the perfect combination. The mashup is subtle, which we would want from the line and seeing the ThunderCats symbol on a MOTU figure is amazing! He has a nice lion on his chest armor, and this is a more modern look for He-Man.

Addtional photos of ThunderCats crossover He-Man!

Panthro
Panthro is the next main character in the core ThunderCats group. Panthro looks great and is all geared up! He has a ton of cool accessories and uses different weapon attachments to his hands.

Tygra
Tygra is another main character and this MOTU Origins Tygra looks great. It looks like you can peel his gear off to reveal a more classic looking Tygra below.

February 27, 2025: Club Grayskull Members Only Figure Announced
The first figure teased for the Club Grayskull membership is teased to be a Powers of Grayskull figure!

Powers of Grayskull Teased Again
Back in April 2024, we reported that He-Ro and Eldor were coming to the MOTU Origins line and we are hoping that they will finally make an appearance, along with other Powers of Grayskull characters! According to a Facebook post from Optibotomus, Mattel is teasing the Powers of Grayskull once again! He said, “Got a special package from our friends at Mattel today! On March 6th, starting at 9am (PT), Mattel will be having a special fan event at MattelCreations.com and for us MOTU fans, Mattel will be revealing their next MOTU collectible at 10am (PT). There are going to 3 clues to tease us and they sent me the first one. THIS MAGNET!!! They say to pay close attention to the details. The other clues will be posted by Mattel Creations on their social channels.”

The magnet referenced above is the box art for the Mattel Creations New Etenria playset, and here is the hi-res image of the box pictured below! This Eternia box are is beautifully stunning, and there are so many easter eggs in this artwork, we don’t know where to begin, but we will cover them all right here and right now! So without further ado, let’s dive into this amazing Eternia MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Official Box Art Reveal! With these new hi-res images, we can now more clearly see the teases for each of the characters.

In reference to Optibotomus‘s clue that Mattel will be dropping easter eggs on their socials, we already discovered one them in the Curated Cube video series they are putting out ahead of the event. Here is a screenshot of one of the easter eggs from the Curated Cube series where they “We love collectibles as much as you do. Want proof? Go inside the walls of Mattel, as we showcase some of our most envy-inspiring cubicle set-ups.” We also want to thank Pedro, who gave us the heads up and said “I don’t know if you notice that in the Mattel creations video revealed, there appear a men reading a book that have the map of PRETERNIA… in the e-mail from Mattel creations they say: “Tune in to see if you can spot hidden Easter eggs about our upcoming product drops.”

Laser Power He-Man
Laser Power He-Man was a corner stone into the gate way of the Powers of Grayskull! Prominently featured on the Eternia package artwork, you can see Laser Power He-Man battling with Laser Light Skeletor! But this isn’t the first time we saw him teased! He was previously teased on the Camo Khan Card art as we will discuss below.

Also previously featured on Camo Khan card back art, you can see a very clear image of Laser Power He-Man! We now have 2 teases for him! This is very exciting to think that we might be getting a Laser Power He-Man since he is one of the rarest vintage figures of the line! Back in 1988, the Masters of the Universe line’s popularity was waning and Laser Power He-Man was one of two final figures for Mattel. Similar to Laser Light Skeletor, Laser Power He-Man had a light up feature through his Power sword when held in his right hand
According to the Battle Ram Blog:
Laser Power He-Man was released Italy and Spain a year after the end of the Masters of the Universe toyline in the US. He was a figure most North American fans were not aware of until they discovered it online years later. That was certainly true for me. Because the figure was produced in limited numbers overseas, it’s one of the most expensive vintage He-Man toys to acquire today. (Update: I’m also informed that there was some distribution of Laser Power He-Man in Switzerland. Thanks to Olmo for the information.)

As with Laser Light Skeletor, the figure’s light up feature is activated by raising his right arm. A wire is snaked from the sword, under the armor on the right arm (which seems to exist only to hide the wire) and into the backpack. The light in the sword is powered by an AA battery that fits in the backpack.
The Italy release (shown below) has the newly sculpted head, which some have speculated is supposed to resemble Dolph Lundgren, who played He-Man in the 1987 Masters of the Universe Movie. Alternatively, it could resemble some actor who might have starred in the (never produced) interactive He-Man TV show. That’s purely speculative – they might not have had any actors in mind for the series. Looking at this and the early prototype closely, however, I think the most likely interpretation is that it’s just supposed to look like the original He-Man’s face sculpt, but with a more neutral expression and updated hair. Like Laser-Light Skeletor, all of Laser Power He-Man’s tooled parts are unique to the figure
Laser Power He-Man: Heroic Master of Light Energy (1988) – Battle Ram (battleramblog.com)

Source: Laser Power He-Man: Battle Ram Blog
Laser Power He-Man was one of the two remaining deluxe release figures of the vintage Masters of the Universe line in 1988. He had a light up power sword feature powered by his backpack. The light up feature was activated by putting the Power Sword in his hand. By the time this figure was released, the line’s popularity had died out in the United States, so it was released in Italy and Spain. Today, Laser Light He-Man and Laser Light Skeletor are of the highest valued figures of the entire MOTU vintage line and fetch triple digits!

Laser Power He-Man can with two variants of his head. The first was the original vintage head design, but was later changed to resemble Dolph Lundren who was then starring in the Masters of the Universe Motion Picture.

He-Ro
Axel Gimenez posted a very intriguing post to Instagram today, with a Super7 5.5″ Vintage Style He-Ro in package next to him and he says “Working, working, and working ??” with a pen sitting next to He-Ro. Now He-Ro holds a very special significance to the Toy Habits family, because it was a friendly trade of the MOTUC He-Ro’s staff that brought the Toy Sorceress and Michael of Toy Habits together to form an amazing partnership of the Toy Habits team you all know and love today! So, if this is a real indication of He-Ro coming to the MOTU Origins line, believe me I would be totally over the moon! that I don’t know about you, but I feel like we have been getting small hints of the Powers of Grayskull for a while now. First with the Camo Khan Card Art Teases, then with the Moss Man MOTU Origins Art Reveal, which both were heavily influenced and teased many Powers of Grayskull characters! If you follow us on YouTube, you know that we have been predicting The Powers of Grayskull to be coming to the MOTU Origins line in 2024! We have had several theories and wish list videos where we discuss our theories on the Powers of Grayskull being the next big theme in the MOTU Origins line, as it naturally follows the Rise of the Snake Men, where the Snake Men originated in Preternia, but we will have more about that for you below.
How cool would it be to get a shiny vac metal gold colored MOTU Origins version of He-Ro, just the thought of it makes me so happy and excited! Also, this opens the door to the Powers of Grayskull characters and dinos! The possibilities are endless! So let’s explore this MOTU Origins He-Ro Tease!
February 20, 2025: MOTU Time Slot Revealed!
Huge thanks to sir Eldor himself, masterversal_toyhunter, for the heads up that Mattel has released their event schedule for their Mattel Creations REVEALED 2025 event! The MOTU team will be given a 14-minute time slot, starting at 10:01am PT on March 6, 2025!

February 16, 2025: Possible Reveals
From what we’ve seen in past years, this will be a massive drop/reveal spanning the MOTU Origins, Cartoon Collection, Masterverse and their new MOTU Origins ThunderCats crossover lines! Based on early information we’ve received from intel leading up to the event and putting 2 + 2 together from info we’ve seen across the web, we have a pretty good idea of what might be revealed! We know that Mattel will be holding some things back for reveals at San Diego Comic Con 2025 but here is what we know so far for the March 2025 MOTU Mattel Reveals!
MOTU Origins Sketchbook Series
With the reveal of the Evil-Horde 2-pack that kicked off the Masters of the Universe Origins Sketchbook Series, Mark Taylor and Roger Sweet’s early concepts of the Masters of the Universe figures are on a fast track production. This was a brilliant move by Mattel as we get a peak into an alternate reality as the early concepts very well could have been green lit for production and the figures and characters we know today could have looked very different. Mark Taylor is a former toy designer who worked for Mattel in the 1980s, during the development of the Masters of the Universe toy line. Taylor is known for his contributions to the early development of the franchise, including the creation of many iconic characters such as He-Man, Skeletor, and Battle Cat. With teases of Skeletor (aka Evil Incarnate) and He-Man on the Hordak and Grizzlor Sketch Book Series card art, the door is wide open to bring more concepts of yesteryear to life! Thanks to yo_tengo_el_poder for posting a listing from Heo that shows that Sy-Klone and Spikor are coming to the MOTU Origins Sketch Book series!

Sy-Klone
Although the illustrations appear to depict two very different characters, they are actually early design concepts for Sy-Klone, a character with a unique action feature developed by Roger Sweet. The design on the right closely resembles the final sculpt, while the overall look and color scheme of the figure on the left clearly draws from the other design. Interestingly, this same design was later used in several minicomics, most notably in the “Spikor Strikes” minicomic that came with his action figure. In that minicomic, Sy-Klone was mistakenly referred to as Tornado in one panel, which was a temporary name for the character.

Spikor
The character that would eventually be known as Spikor originated from a simple concept by Roger Sweet: an action figure that combined features of a humanoid and a porcupine, making it one of the more unusual creatures on Earth. In this early sketch, Spikor’s porcupine traits are more apparent. Not only does he have a more natural animal color scheme, but he also features a distinct snout and tail. While the trident arm seems to have been part of the design from the start, the mace appears less threatening than in the final version. Sweet had initially intended for the character to be named Spike, but marketing opted for a name that was more fitting for the world of Eternia.

MOTU Origins Mattel Creations
As we are getting information coming out of the German Toy Fair, Spielwarenmesse, we are hearing some incredible news of figures and a playset coming to the Masters of the Universe Origins line. As the MOTU Origins line will be completed on Mattel Creations, a list of figures has surfaced thanks to German Retro Toys, who responded to one of our YouTube Community posts about the MOTU Origins Fright Zone coming in 2025 as a retail release! As we turn our attention to the remaining MOTU Origins figures to be released on Mattel Creations, German Retro Toys, is saying the following figures will be coming in 2025! Let’s run down the list visually as we always do with and revisit the vintage figures and their MOTU Origins card art teases!
Two-Bad
Two-Bad is a two-headed Evil Warrior who is basically two different beings sharing the same body. In some ways he is like siamese twins, although both halves of his body are very different-looking creatures who appear to be from entirely different species. His right half is a blue creature, while his left half is a purple, scaly creature with an eyebrow-like yellow band on his forehead. Two-Bad was introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1985. Originally marketed as the “double-headed evil strategist” it is implied he is a master of strategy due to being two warriors in one, but his main trait in all story media is that his two heads have a habit of endlessly arguing with each other, meaning he has always generally been used for comic relief.

Stonedar
The first time we saw a tease for Stonedar was on the Eternia box art!

The second time we saw Stonedar was on the card back art for the Mattel Creations exclusive of Rokkon! You would have missed it, if you didn’t look carefully enough, but there a tease for Stonedar on the back of the card back art! In fact, we did miss it and thanks to Chris M., a MOTU fan and collector from Germany, for emailing us and alerting to this tease that paid homage to a historic version of Stonedar.

Looking very similar to Rokkon, Roy did include a figure tease to Stonedar on the card back, paying homage to the original artwork by Earl Norem shown below.

He is often accompanied by his young friend Rokkon. The pair were like transforming MOTU figures but instead turning into something cool, they turned into rocks, which reminds me of that part in the movie Big where a toy company produces a Transformer that turns into a building!

Stonedar is the leader of the Rock People. The character appeared late in the 1980s Masters of the Universe toy line, and as such appears in relatively few stories, with little consistency.

Dragstor
Dragstor, the Transforming Evil Warrior Vehicle, is a MOTU Origins figures that has yet to be released or revealed for that matter. Dragstor’s a member of the Evil Horde who has a giant wheel built into his stomach cavity where he can down on his stomach and take off like a car using a rip stick. The vintage Dragstor was was released as part of the fifth series in 1986 and Mattel has a history of leaving out action features. Remember what happened to the Ground Ripper (Road Ripper)? Dragstor was featured in this commercial where it demonstrates his action feature and it is so coo! To show off what a MOTU Origins Dragstor concept could look like, we are featuring the amazing work of the Masterversal Toyhunter, sir Eldor (sub his YouTube Channel and follow him on Instagram), below!
According to an anonymous source, we are happy to report that the MOTU Origins Dragstor will be made with his action feature and we have reports that his tooling is complete. There are a few possibilities for his action feature. He (1) could come with a rip stick like his vintage figure (2) be built in a way that could use friction to send him on his way (think of a car that you rev), or (3) he could simply be built with a wheel that spins (think of the Ground Ripper). We know from SDCC 2024, there are a handful of Mattel Creations MOTU Origins figures coming out in the near future, we could see Dragstor make an appearance at the massive MOTU drop that happens in March of every year. Given the tooling that Dragstor needed to make him functional, we could see him make an appearance on March 6, 2025 at the Mattel Creations REVEALED event.
Dragstor Tease
With the Extendar Mattel Creations Exclusive card back, we can see a cool scene with Extendar fighting off the Evil Horde! Dragstor is finally teased as well as the Fright Zone so we can’t wait for more MOTU!

Dragstor Concept by Masterversal Toyhunter
In crafting his custom figure, Masterversal Toyhunter embarked on a detailed journey that integrated various parts and sculpting techniques, seamlessly combining them into a cohesive masterpiece of a creation of what we hope to expect the Mattel Creation versions to turn out like. To understand how this figure came together, Masterversal Toyhunter provided all of the details so let’s take a look and see how this figure was made! The parts used to create this custom figure are as follows: Vintage Dragstor’s thigh grills, upper torso frame, backpack, and boots, of course! Origins Webstor’s arms, upper body, legs, and boot plugin sockets, along with Pig Head’s hands and Sun-Man’s forearm glove cuffs, were also utilized. Additionally, a ToG Hordak’s arm band and crotch part were included. The head base was crafted from a Masterverse Spikor and Stinkor’s face mask, with a sculpt of Dragstor’s detail layered over the top. Milliput epoxy putty served as the sculpting medium.

He began with the head, using a Masterverse Spikor as the base. Once a spare Vintage Dragstor was obtained, the customizer removed the arms and legs by cutting them off, mainly due to the mushroom peg joints. After removal, he was able to use those points to score around the molding seam and split the main body in half. Using a spare Vintage Dragstor, he removed the arms and legs by cutting them off, mainly due to the mushroom peg joints. After removal, he were able to use those points to score around the molding seam and split the main body in half.

He also cut away the boots and thigh grills from the Vintage Dragstor legs for use with the Origins Webstor leg parts. He cut into the legs to create extra plastic for gluing those parts in place, as they did not want to simply surface glue those details. For added pop-and-swap functionality, he whittled down the Webstor boots to the ankle to utilize the plug-in socket pop system in the Vintage Dragstor boots. After preparing that, he hollowed out the Dragstor boots to glue in Webstor’s boot peg sockets. Dragstor has glove cuffs that go over his forearm. For that detail, he took the arms of a spare Origins Sun-Man and cut off his forearm glove cuffs, hollowing them out like with the Vintage Dragstor boots while carefully keeping the peg sockets for the hands. He whittled down Webstor’s arms and cut away much of the wrist to pop and glue on the Sun-Man glove cuffs with Araldite epoxy glue. Notably, Sun-Man’s glove cuffs had an embossed star detail, which was easily sliced off and smoothed with a blunted edge of something hard.

For the main body frame and backpack, he used a Dremel rotary tool to remove the sides of the body down to the wheel frame belt and backpack. He also removed the molded-in crotch/cod section and found it necessary to remove material from the neck hole area to fit the front body frame to Webstor’s upper torso and provide clearance for the head sculpt to move back far enough to avoid dragging along the ground. The lower back of the head sculpt dipped into that area to prevent it from hitting the top of the backpack and restricting movement. Much of Webstor’s upper torso had a section removed from the middle for clearance for the action feature wheel. He also cut away the waist pop-and-swap peg area but wanted to maintain the use of the Origins neck peg and arm sockets. He cut a small bit of material out of the back of the neck and inside the back of the head sculpt to allow the neck peg joint to rock further back for vehicle mode. Once the back and front parts were fitted over what remained of the Webstor torso, he glued those on using Milliput to fill in the upper areas that did not touch the torso, locking the wheel axle on either side, as a 3-4mm gap was created between the front and back belt sections. He then made a rough shape of the belt to sand to shape later after the epoxy putty set hard, and he also used putty to fill in gaps created around the outer sides of the belt, being careful not to hinder the wheel mechanism. He also reconstructed the sides of the body using Milliput but opted for the Origins muscle features rather than sculpting the vintage body muscle form.

Additionally, he had to re-sculpt the shoulder pipes, which chipped off when splitting the Vintage Dragstor in half. The Crotch section, in which he used the crotch off the Turtles of Grayskull Hordak, he popped off the Legs from the Webstor’s Crotch / Cod piece after heating that area up in hot water – and placed those onto the Hordak Cod section. Although he initially wanted a waist pop-and-swap, the need for clearance for the wheel made that impossible. After considering multiple options for achieving a waist pop-and-swap, he decided against it as he would not have enough clearance for the wheel. Being careful not to Dremel out any major connecting pins and sockets holding the leg connector ball joint rod, he made sure to keep some of the top of the Crotch surface area in order to glue and plug that part under the upper torso assembly. In addition, he also sculpted on Milliput around the sides, front and back to widen the cod section to give more gluing surface. And after all that was glued in place, he just had to sculpt in the front Crotch detail just below the wheel housing frame. He then slipped on the TOG Hordak’s Evil Horde Arm Band on to complete the look of the vintage design.

Here is a photo of Masterversal Toyhunter’s concept next to the Vintage figure and we must say that he did an outstanding job and we will all be lucky if we get something even close to what he designed!

Vintage Dragstor
According to the Wiki Grayskull, Dragstor was Etherian peasant who was captured by Hordak and transformed into an evil cyborg. Due to Hordak’s modifications, he became one of the fastest beings on Etheria, with a wheel embedded into his chest and an engine on his back. Dragstor later displayed a rebellious attitude, exposed in his rivalry with the newest Horde warrior, Mosquitor. When He-Man asked him “Who’s your new friend?”, Dragstor replied “Mosquitor… and he’s no friend of mine!”

Multi-Bot
Mulit-Bot was the second figure in the MOTU line to come out with the mix and match style body parts. Just like Modulok, Multi-bot too came with 22 body parts but this time could combine with Modulok to create a huge Mega Bot monster like creature!Apparently as it says on the box, there were 1000 possible combinations, so I am sure kids had hours and hours of fun with this thing! Multibot was released a year after Modulok in 1986, and continued that gimmick heavy theme of the MOTU toys back in the 80’s. Also member of the Evil Horde, Multi Bot was known as the ” Evil Robot of a thousand bodies” Made of completely all new parts, Multi-bot did not share any molds with previous MOTU figures, sigaling the strength of the line at the time! Multi-Bot first appeared on the She-Ra Princess of Power cartoon in the episode “Horde Prime Takes A Holiday”. Multi-Bot was the goofy Horde robot created by Modulok. Mattel has just recently renewed this trademark this year on 03/09/2022, showing us we have so much more to come in the MOTU Origins line! Since we recently got Modulok, Mult-Bot is sure to come to the line!

Even though the image is blurry, you can see Multibot right next to Modulok in the Eternia box art by Mantisaur.
