Masters of the Universe MOTU Origins, Masterverse, and Turtles of Grayskull 2024 Preorder Speculation
Could the MOTU 2024 preorder of Cartoon Collection, Masterverse, and ToG lines be dropping on October 10, 2024 at 11am CST.
With Big Bad Toy Store celebrating their 25 year anniversary, it appears that they may have tipped off the date where Mattel does their huge Fall preorder drop! It was on October 4, 2023 last year where the MOTU team put up preorders for the Masterverse and MOTU Origins lines and we expect no less this year! Here is the tease from BBTS where they showed an image of a Power Sword with a preorder date of October 10, 2024 at 11am CST.

Masterverse
The Masterverse line is shaping up nicely with Wave 15 consiting of New Eternia Fisto, New Eternia Evil-Lyn, New Eternia Flying Fists He-Man, and Vintage Collection Skeletor, who we believe is the 4th figure in the wave!
New Eternia Fisto
Fisto comes with two head sculpts, an extra hand, his purple sword, and a huge hammer weapon!

Here is an image of him with his alternate head sculpt and he looks great any way you want to display him!

Here is another shot of Fisto wielding that large hammer! It also looks like you can take an end of the hammer and exchange it for his fist! How cool!!!

New Eternia Fisto looks so different than any other Fist we have seen before. Mirroring the MOTU Classics version, he comes with an alternate head sculpt that can give Fisto a more traditional look.

He was also on display in the MOTU booth and he was shown with his new head sculpt and his ginormous hammer!

Up close you can see his regular, more vintage style head sculpt and instead of an iron fist, they gave Fisto an entire cybernetic arm in this update.

Here you can see his MOTU Classics inspired head sculpt and the shoulder and chest armor that adorns the figure.

New Flying Fists He-Man
He-Man comes with two extra gold hands, his shield, and his flying fists weapon!

Using the head sculpt from the New Eternia Faker with the apple cheeks, he still looks great, especially with the oversized lion shoulder armor! Here is a shot of Flying Fists He-Man as we get to see the underside of the shield!

His flying fists gear also stows on his back, just like the vintage figure!

Flying Fists He-Man looks awesome and his shoulder armor looks like it is a nod to the Eternia Central Tower.

New Flying Evil-Lyn
We’ve been waiting for this version of Evil-Lyn for a long time and she looks awesome in this new official image! She comes with extra fists, spell casting hands and her staff!

A previous official image was discovered in Mattel’s Customer Service database so it’s cool to see more pics!

Here are more shots of Evil-Lyn clutching her staff!

New Eternia Evil Lyn looks very majestic! Her overall look is updated and her staff looks like it can split into two pieces. Her colors have an overarching dark theme and there is some foe fur around her collar that extends down to her chest.

Skeletor Vintage Collection
Looks like there is a new sub-line coming to Masterverse dubbed the Vintage Collection. Not much is known aside from seeing the official images of the box front and the figure but could the Masterverse line be going back to Masters of the Universe Classics roots? Huge thanks to yo_tengo_el_poder (and to toyhuntershollow) for the heads up) that images of a Masterverse Vintage Collection Skeletor have surfaced! The Masters of the Universe Classics line was well loved and adored by MOTU collectors and many of them equate some of the Masterverse figures to MOTU Classics so this seems like a natural offshoot for the line. Skeletor comes packed in the Masterverse 2.0 style window display box that has a new gold label above the Masterverse logo dubbed “Vintage Collection.”

For reference, here is what the Masters of the Universe Classics Skeletor looked like for comparison! The first Classics Skeletor was released in January of 2009 and the MOTU Classics line is considered one of the quintessential lines to own as a collector.

From 2008-2020, Mattel and Super7 offered new figures, beasts, vehicles, and playsets, in what became the most comprehensive and longest-running MOTU line of all time. Classics items were offered online, direct to fans through the MattyCollector and Super7 websites. These Masters of the Universe Classics figures, sculpted by the Four Horsemen, aimed to be the definitive toy versions of these characters. They had a level of articulation previously unseen in MOTU figures, as well as full accessories. The very limited releases of these toys resulted in high aftemarket prices online, sometimes within hours of their release.
Skeletor Vintage Collection Official Images
He comes with his classic Havoc Staff, Power Sword, and extra hands!

This Vintage Collection Skelly is really going back to his roots with a MOTU Classics’esque figure design and overall look and feel!

The paint apps on the armor and the weapons look like they are more premium than standard Masterverse figures so it will be interesting to see how this line shapes up and who is slotted for further releases so stay tuned!

Cartoon Collection
We expect the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Wave 21 to go up for preorder for sure but anyone else they decide to put up for preorder is gravy!
She-Ra
The new package design is gorgeous with Hordak looming above the fiery Castle Grayskull! We get a great view of the cross sell and that new She-Ra 40th Anniversary foil logo!

Here are some action poses of the Princess of Power as she shows off her sword! The paint apps look stellar on her!

She is also posed with her shield and we also get a peek at the handle as she is poised to attack!

The scene shows Sea Hawk and She-Ra on the Mystic Isle!

She and Sea Hawk are drawn so beautifully! They look very Filmation inspired! Just love how Fetch illustrated these!

Ram Man
Ram Man looks fantastic on card as he completely fills out the bubble.

Ram Man comes with the artifact from the House of Shokoti episode and his armor from the front looks great as well as the expression on his face! He looks more serious than dimwitted, which is great!

More official images of Cartoon Collection Ram-Man from the front and the back as you can see his armor design from all angles!

Ram Man’s illustration shows off a scene where Ram Man is taking off with Stanlan in the background looking on as he’s entangled.

Up close, you can see all of the detail and he does not look as dopey like we saw him in the Filmation series.

Mantenna
The new package design is gorgeous with Hordak looming above the fiery Castle Grayskull is perfect for the Horde figures and like Ram Man, Mantenna fills out the entire bubble.

We also get a very cool look at Mantenna’s pop out eye action feature and how you can pose some of his legs.

We also get a shot of the lever from the side as Mantenna makes an exit stage left and his legs look super poseable, which is great for the shelf!

Mantenna’s illustration shows off, in detail, the creature features that were lost in the Filmation series. You can imagine that Mantenna is standing over the trap door, where Mantenna’s comic relief comes in the She-Ra and the Princess of Power series.

Up close, you can see the muscle detail and he does not look as scrawny as he did in the Filmation series and we just love how Fetch illustrated these!

Turtles of Grayskull Reptile Wars
The packaging concepts are a work in progress but they look outstanding! The Snake Men are invading the Turtles of Grayskull! The colors are so vibrant and the snakes coupled with the purples and greens really makes the card art pop!

Donatello
Donatello comes clad in purple armor from head to toe and he also will come packed with a flame staff!

You can take the flames off and it looks like a super cool staff on its own!

You can also remove the helmet but still keep the part of the mask that covers his face, which looks awesome! You can also strip down the staff to its bare essentials, which gives him a more classic look!

xxx
In the most interesting armor, Donatello comes with a weapon that is a reuse of the flame staff that comes with the Skeletor & Demogorgon Stranger things 2-pack. The snake face mask that comes up from under his chin gives him a totally different look and his chest armor is a cool design that is set off with purple and silver.

Raphael
Here is the official image of Raph and he looks amazing in his Snake Armor and his oversized snake catcher looks amazing!!!

Raphael looks outstanding in Snake Armor and that oversized snake catcher looks awesome in his hand!

His classic Tsai’s can stow in his turtle shell, which is removeable and doubles as a shield.

The Reptile Wars Raphael looks amazing as he is all clad in Snake Armor! There is also armor on his upper right bicep plus the right side of his chest is clad in armor on the right side and the R is set off in black and red. He also comes with an oversized snake grabber or weapon attachment.

Mekaneck
You know what they say, two necks are better than one! Coming packed with two neck attachments and his trusy mace, Mekaneck looks amazing clad in his highly detailed chest and shoulder armor!

Mekaneck looks as equally impressive with no necks as this figure looks outstanding!

He is clad in armor fro head to toe and he even comes with a cool shield to fend off those pesky reptiles!

The Turtles of Grayskull are moving in such a cool direction and Mekaneck looks amazing!

The concept illustrations shows the various ways you can display Mekaneck.

Mekaneck was also revealed in the MOTU booth with his double stacked neck and his new design. The armor looks like it has turbines on the front and he looks great with this oversized armor!

Rattlor
Rattlor was one of the standout figures of the bunch and his colors are spectacular. He is such a unique looking figure with the pinks, yellows, and blues and he is sure to standout in your collection for sure!

Rattlor looks like he is molting out of the vintage figure’s skin and is such a cool look and a stellar concept!

Like Mekaneck, you can attach neck extensions or take them off for a different look!

The image below shows the inspiration for the Turtles of Grayskull Rattlor!

Rattlor was also on display in the MOTU booth and we got some new photos of him! With the main color being predominately pink, Rattlor is a blend of blues and yellows and a mix of translucent plastics. He is definitly the standout in the group and he looks amazing in his mutated form.
