Masters of the Universe MOTU SDCC 2024 Panel Reveals

The Masters of the Universe team revealed some amazing figures during their San Diego Comic Con 2024 panel. The reveals spanned the Turtles of Grayskull, MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection, Masterverse, and their Snake Lair crowdfund project. The kicked off the panel with a celebration of the 40th anniversary of She-Ra and they revealed some great new figures for the Masterverse line and the Turtles of Grayskull line is taking a cool new direction!

Here are the Masterverse and MOTU Origins booth displays that feature the new figures that are coming out!

MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection

As we predicted, the She-Ra and Hordak were coming to the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection and both the digital renders and the actual figures were displayed in the MOTU booth at SDCC 2024.

She-Ra

For the honor of Grayskull! Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of She-Ra and the Princess of Power, She-Ra is kicking off the PoP Cartoon Collection subline! We hope the line goes deep as Catra was already revealed in Mattel’s booth during preview night.

Here are some alternate views of She-Ra and the figure really captures her Filmation appearance.

She-Ra was also on display in the Mattel booth and they really nailed the figure design. The head sculpt really captures her look and she comes packed with her shield and sword.

Hordak

The ruthless leader of the Evil Horde is also joining the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection.

Here are some alternate views of Hordak and you can also remove his head and the figure retains the part swapability that the MOTU Origins line is known for.

The actual figure of Hordak came out so well! Usually, the Cartoon Collection figures are lacking in details but the head sculpt is killer. There are so many defining features that really brings out his Filmation look.

Catra

We get a second Princess of Power figure to the Cartoon Collection with Catra and her cat companion.

Ram Man

We are getting an amazingly cute Cartoon Collection Rammy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man E Faces and Mantenna

Finally we are also getting another Man E Faces and Mantenna, this time in their Filmation style.

MOTU Origins vintage line

We got some incredible reveals for the MOTU Origins vintage line as well!

Rio Blast

Giddy up and Yeeeeeeeeee-Hawwwwwwwww, Rio-Blast is finally coming to the MOTU Origins line and he looks freakin spectacular!

He has multiple chambers that open to reveal his laser blasters!

You can see that Rio-Blast has his classic stache!

Modulok

Fans rejoice because Modulok is finally joining the Origins vintage line! And it looks like we get all his parts too!

Here is a close up of Geldor and Demo-Man!

To beef up the Horde Army, we are getting Vultak for the MOTU Origins line and a chonky beefy Horde Trooper for the Masterverse line!

We are finally getting Rio Blast for the MOTU Origins line and Panthor for the Masterverse line!

Turtles of Grayskull

The Turtles of Grayskull line keeps getting better and better! As we predicted, Mekaneck and Rattlor are joining the line.

Packaging Concepts

The packaging concepts are a work in progress but they look outstanding! The Snake Men are invading the Turtles of Grayskull! The colors are so vibrant and the snakes coupled with the purples and greens really makes the card art pop!

Mekaneck

The Turtles of Grayskull are moving in such a cool direction and Mekaneck looks amazing!

The concept illustrations shows the various ways you can display Mekaneck.

Mekaneck was also revealed in the MOTU booth with his double stacked neck and his new design. The armor looks like it has turbines on the front and he looks great with this oversized armor!

Rattlor

The image below shows the inspiration for the Turtles of Grayskull Rattlor!

Rattlor was also on display in the MOTU booth and we got some new photos of him!

Masterverse

There were some really cool reveals for the Masterverse line, including the concept for movie Blade, Skelcon, and New Eternia Fisto.

Here is the amazing Masterverse booth that features New Eterna Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, Flying Fists He-Man, and Roboto!

Blade

The concept for Blade looks amazing and the headsculpt is actually modeled after the actor, Anthony De Longis, that played him in the 1987 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie.

Skelcon

The mystery army builder has been revealed as the Skelcon! This figure is perfect for the Masterverse line to build up Skeletor’s army!

The Skelcon was also on display in the MOTU booth and the head sculpt and paint app on the beak and mouth really adds some depth and dimension to the figure. He comes with some really cool accessories, including a spear, an axe, and a dagger.

One of coolest details is found in the head sculpt as he opens his mouth to reveal a tongue made of skulls.

New Eternia Fisto

New Eternia Fisto looks so different than any other Fist we have seen before. Mirroring the MOTU Classics version, he comes with an alternate head sculpt that can give Fisto a more traditional look.

He was also on display in the MOTU booth and he was shown with his new head sculpt and his ginormous hammer!

Up close you can see his regular, more vintage style head sculpt and instead of an iron fist, they gave Fisto an entire cybernetic arm in this update.

Here you can see his MOTU Classics inspired head sculpt and the shoulder and chest armor that adorns the figure.

Flying Fist He-Man

Flying Fists He-Man looks awesome and his shoulder armor looks like it is a nod to the Eternia Central Tower.

New Eternia Beast Man

Beast Man looks vicious but slimmed down! This is the second version of New Eternia Best Man and this one looks mean!

Some close ups of Beast Man and you can see the pronounced spikes in the armor and nod to the vintage figure with his medallion in the center of his chest.

New Eternia Evil Lyn

New Eternia Evil Lyn looks very majestic! Her overall look is updated and her staff looks like it can split into two pieces. Her colors have an overarching dark theme and there is some foe fur around her collar that extends down to her chest.

New Eternia Roboto

Roboto looks so cool with his see through chest to reveal his gears and inner workings! Roboto comes with new versions of his blaster, claw, and axe and a new mouth plate and extra hand!

Here is a close up of the blaster, claw, and axe and a new mouth plate and extra hand!

You can really see the innser workings of this version of Roboto and dare I say he looks more like a robot? They really leaned into updating certain aspects of his design to give him a more robotic look like the rivets in his face mask and an additional metal piece above his waist.

Snake Lair Images

Before the MOTU team officially revealed the Snake Lair in the booth, the flashed the first images of the place Lady Slither will call her home.

If you are curious to know how the Snake Lair scales with Eternia, they did also show a side-by-side image and the Snake Lair looks more massive than we thought!

MOTU Origins x ThunderCats Crossover Tease

At the end of the panel, the MOTU team teased the next crossover line! The ThunderCats will be the next MOTU Origins mashup and we are so excited for this!
