July 21, 2023: MOTU Revolution Teaser
This first tease had a bunch of main characters we would love to see come to the Revolution line! Some of the names on this list have been made into Masterverse figures so we could see some variants down the line. Let’s first start with the figures that have been revealed or have had figures made already!
Skeletek
During the climatic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, He-Man proclaimed “It’s not about us” which is a huge hint that things are changing accord to the lore, which is what the Revelation Series is all about! Despite Kevin Smith saying that the series was a continuation of the Filmation cartoon from the 80’s, the Revelation Series proves that it is rewriting MOTU lore and people aren’t going to continually stay in the same positions they’ve been in. They get with the times, people! WE know that Evil-Lyn’s fate is up in the air, Teela became the Sorceress but a new kind of Sorceress that can leave Grayskull willy nilly, Andra becomes the new Man-At-Arms, and Skeletor is left in a world he doesn’t quite understand. Angry that he didn’t help to defeat He-Man, Skeletor seeks out the only people he can rely on. He busts into the Motherboard cult and tries to usurp power from Tri-Klops and Trap Jaw, but this leads to Skeletor angrily attacks the Motherboard statue, attempting to blow it to pieces as Tri-Klops and Trap Jaw refuse to align with him.

Skeletek was on the leaked list of Masters of the Universe Masterverse Wave 11 figures and he looks amazing! He has oversized shoulder armor, a Rams’ head guantlet, and he looks like he’s a mishmash of his former self and the Horde!

He comes in the brand new Masterverse Revolution box and you can see the art on the box and although we have not seen his character render, it will look pretty much like this!

Two Bad
Two Bad makes his first appearance in the Revolution animated series and he has already had a New Eternia version in this likeness so it could stand to reason that we could see a Techno Cult version in the future!

This new Masterverse figure is incredible in hand, and he is huge to boot! This figure is about as big as the New Eternia Beast Man figure, so you know he is rockin’ a huge bod!! The amount of detailing and unique sculpts that went into this figure are gorgeous! Two bad sports his classic look with his signature orange armor and a very cool spiked right shoulder armor. Baddrah’s side is a an amazingly sculpted piece showing off the detailed scaled arms and legs with ridges running down the sides. Tuvar is a bit simpler, and, like Baddrah, he has a great head sculpt as well. His boot and glove are also very interesting pieces that have an armor-plated look with lots of rivets to hold them together. The rest of his arms and legs, are also all brand new sculpts and unlike any of the other Masterverse figures that have come before them. I am super impressed by Two-Bad and is the best bad guy to date for the Masterverse line!

Hordak
Hordak has already been created for the Masterverse line and it would be a slam dunk to create him as a MOTU Revolution figure!

Orko
Orko appears has his resurrected self in the Masters of the Universe Revolution Netflix Series and a figure has been revealed of him (coming in a two pack with Gwildor).

We are getting another version of Orko and this time it is his resurrected self from the last episode of the Masters of the Universe Revelation Series. This time, he will be coming in a Masters of the Universe Revolution box. He comes with a very cool spell casting stand!

MOTU Revolution Teaser 2
A second teaser was played during the MOTU Revolution panel that featured a great array of characters!
Snout Spout
Snout Spout also makes an appearance in the MOTU Revelution series and a New Eternia Masterverse figure has been revealed for him already!

Snout Spout features an amazing sculpt with large tusks protruding from his head. The vibrant oranges and pinks play nicely off of each other and the extra armor on his shoulders makes him look formidable! The hoses on the belt add a lot of depth and dimension and pays homage to his vintage release while giving him some major updates that only the New Eternia line can!

Scareglow
Also making an appearance is Scareglow! We’ve had two versions of Scareglow in the past but I would not put it past Mattel to make a third version!

Ram Man
Much to our surprise, Rio Blast comes in guns a blazing and is featured in the teaser! A Masterverse figure of Rio Blast would be amazing as he has been teased in the MOTU Origins line but has yet to come to Masterverse.

We have the new Masterverse New Eternia Ram Man here charging at you for a ramming good time for an in hand review! Ram Man was one of the new Deluxe figures I was most looking forward to in the latest Wave! Ram Man was an exciting reveal and a welcome New Eternia version of a Masterverse character! Ram Man, a stout and brave warrior who charges at his enemies with a powerful ramming attack using his metal ramming head, which is attached to a spring that allows him to charge forward with great force. Ram Man has unwavering loyalty and courage, and is willing to put himself in danger to protect his allies and his home of Eternia. Ram Man has made appearances in various Masters of the Universe media, including the original animated series, comics, and toy lines, and now we get the latest version of Masterverse New Eternia Ram Man for this in hand review!

Rio Blast
Rammy has been released as a New Eternia Masterverse figure but we have yet to see him as a MOTU Revelation figure so we could be seeing a MOTU Revolution figure in the future!

This is the first time we are seeing Rio Blast teased and we are sure collector’s will be going gaga over this! Rio Blast is another character that has his trademark renewed not too long ago on 5/20/2021. Released by Mattel in 1986, Rio Blast is a futuristic cowboy who has hidden blasters all over his body. With pop out laser cannons from his chest and legs six shooters at his wrists and shoulder cannons, Rio Blast was yet another one Mattel’s gimmick heavy figures that was common in the later releases of MOTU figures. A cowboy seems a bit out of place in the planet of Eternia, but this techno-heavy Cowboy sure packs a lot of techno fire power and that technology part is what makes him make sense in the line.

In terms of his backstory, Rio Blast is described as a nomad from the Galactic Wild West who possesses incredible shooting skills and high-tech enhancements. He aids He-Man and the other heroes in their battles against Skeletor and his minions.

Rio Blast was introduced to the line in 1986 and is depicted as a cybernetic cowboy, wearing a western-style outfit. His chest and thighs are equipped with mechanical parts and weaponry.

King Randor
King Randor has been featured in the MOTU Revelation series and he will also be making an appearance in the MOTU Revolution Series

Andra
Andra made her debut in the MOTU Revelation series, where she earned the title Man-At-Arms! You can see her riding the Sky Sled and she is also featured in this mech suit that looks quite a bit like Samus from Metrod or the Hulk Buster Suit from Iron Man

June 9, 2022: Masters of the Universe Revolution Confirmed
The ending of the Masters of the Universe Netflix Season 1 left a huge cliffhanger and an opening for another season and today Netlfix officially confirmed Season 2! We got some indications over the last couple months that this could be a possibility with the latest coming from the yo_tengo_el_poder IG account as he posted, “Y mañana… ¡noticias!” which translates to “And tomorrow… news!” We were thinking that this will be the announcement of the return of the Masters of the Universe Revelation series to Netflix and we were right, but this was not a difficult guess! And now we know Masters of the Universe Revolution Netflix Season 2 has been officially confirmed and dubbed ‘Revolution‘!

Going as far back as April, 29. 2022, Mark Hammill gave us a clue as to what might be coming as he tweeted with a Friday and Saturday to-do list that reads:
“Voice this guy all day” along with an image of Skeletor and of him in the recording studio and more text for his Saturday to-do list which was, “Rest my voice all day.”
Masters of the Universe: Revelation – Mark Hamill Confirms Season 2?

Season 2 Confirmed! Masters of the Universe Revolution
According to Yo Tengo El Poder instagram page, Season 2 is confirmed! They wrote ” Segunda temporada de Masters of the Universe. Después de la Revelación… ¡La Revolución!” This translated into English means “Second season of Masters of the Universe. After the Revelation… The Revolution!”

According to Deadline.com, they also confirm that:
Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Kevin Smith’s successor to the cult 1983–1985 animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, is getting a second season. At its Geeked Week event Wednesday, Netflix announced the followup installment of the animated series, Masters of the Universe: Revolution, from Mattel Television and Powerhouse Animation.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution is described as the next epic chapter in the battle for Eternia. It is a standalone story that takes place after the events in Revelation. Masters of the Universe: Revolution is an all-new story that brings the focus to He-Man vs. Skeletor “like you’ve never seen them before,” per Netflix. It’s technology versus magic as He-Man and the heroic warriors face the forces of Skeletor and a deadly threat to the Planet.
No cast is being announced yet. Mark Hamill, who voiced Skeletor in Revelation, already teased his involvement in Season 2. Chris Wood voices He-Man. Smith executive produces with Rob David, Ted Biaselli, Christopher Keenan and Frederic Soulie. Mattel Television is producing, with Powerhouse Animation as the animation studio.
‘Masters Of the Universe: Revelation’ Gets He-Man Vs. Skeletor Season 2: Netflix – Deadline
Masters of the Universe Revelation Reception
We are honestly shocked that the Revelation Series is getting another go given the lack luster audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes for Parts 1 and 2 but maybe this is why is it getting renewed! Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation was hugely polarizing as this series was beloved by Critics, giving Part 1 and Part 2 scores of 92% and 92% respectively but the audience score is way down at 38% and 40% respectively. MOTU fans did not hesitate to blast the show (and Kevin Smith for that matter) at every opportunity. We don’t know what goes into renewing a series on Netflix but there has to be demand for another season and if we know anything about the TV business, Parts 1 and 2 must have had off the charts viewing despite the backlash.

What Can We Expect from Season 2?
To know what to expect, we need to rehash what happened at the end of Part 2! Here is a short rundown but we have more questions than answers:
- Did Evil-Lyn Renounced Her Magic?
- At the end of Part 2, Evil-Lyn returns Zalesia, which we are assuming is the place she grew up based on the context from Part 1. In a surprising gesture (and moving scene), she leaves her staff behind planted in the ground. Given that her wand staff channels her power, does this mean that she also left her powers behind?

- What is Teela’s Status as the Sorceress?
- During the series, they let on that the Sorceress was completely tied to Castle Grayskull and thus could not leave so we have an evolution in the MOTU lore where and Teela had changed how that position works. She is seen in the palace during Andra’s promotion and she can function outside of Castle Grayskull but the jury is out if she can wield all of her powers. We’ll have to wait for Season 2 to see how this plays out but it’s cool to know that we can potentially see more of Teela as most of the action in this series happens outside of Castle Grayskull.

- Skeletor’s Demise or Transformation?
- During the climatic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, He-Man proclaimed “It’s not about us” which is a huge hint that things are changing accord to the lore, which is what the Revelation Series is all about! He busts into the Motherboard cult and tries to usurp power from Tri-Klops and Trap Jaw, but this leads to Skeletor angrily attacks the Motherboard statue, attempting to blow it to pieces as Tri-Klops and Trap Jaw refuse to align with him

- What is the Status of Motherboard?
- As Skeletor tries to attack the Motherboard statue, it begins to glow and open to reveal a mechanical creature that has a feminine appearance. Tri-Klops and Trap Jaw hold Skeletor as Motherboard infects him with a virus.

Going along with how normal beings turn into part machine, this act will turn Skeletor into a cyborg but the Motherboard juice directly injected injected right into him so we are unsure what will happen next.

- Is the Horde and Princess of Power Making Their Revelation Debut?
- Blasting the door WIDE OPEN for a continuation of the Revelation Series, the mechanical creature’s displays the insignia of the Horde, which is the main villain of the 1985 She-Ra and the Princess of Power series. With this revelation (pun intended) She-Ra HAS TO BE part of the next series. Furthermore, in the Revelation prequel comic, Hordak made an appearance, albeit in flashback form but to see the Horde symbol with his face on it at the end of Part 2 was simply amazing! If you recall, in the original She-Ra Filmation series Hordak, like Skeletor, was never conclusively defeated, which poses a major threat to Eternia and this alone would be the main reason to have She-Ra star in Season 2. With Evil-Lyn on her journey and Skeletor indisposed, this would put the major focus of series on She-Ra and Hordak, which would be a welcomed change.

More PoP Masterverse Figures on the Way?
With the recent reveal of She-Ra, Hordak and Catra from the Masterverse line, we hope that the latest season of Masters of the Universe Revelation is a smash hit that will bring more Princess of Power figures into the line. In fact, we got word from our inside Toy Habits Source that Frosta will be coming to the Masterverse line in the future so we hope that this season of Revelation is a success!
