One of the most anticipated and sought after figures of the MOTU figure lines is Moss Man. The one and only version we have received for the non-flocked Masterverse line has been all the way back in wave 1 for the in the Revelation animated style. Since then, Masterverse fans have been longing for a classic Moss Man in the Masterverse line, one that is flocked and becoming of his vintage roots. As an action figure, Moss Man is a stunning example of what Mattel is capable of when they really put all the love, attention and care into executing a stellar version of our beloved pine scented friend! Well, fans might get what they are asking for because today, Axel Giménez posted this “✨ Working” on Instagram! He had his sketch pad, vintage MOTU mini comics and a flocked MOTU Classics Moss Man on his artist’s table! Could this be a tease of a New Eternia version of Moss Man or perhaps a Vintage Collection version? Only time will tell and we can’t wait to find out! In the meantime, let’s recap the classic Moss Man figures from the past.
Vintage Moss Man
Moss Man is one of He-man’s closest allies, the ever so gentle friend of the forest, Mossman! As his name reveals, he is a man made of moss, who can camouflage himself into foliage and other green vegetation, as well as control all plant life. The figure is essentially a green repaint of Beast Man, flocked with “moss” with the fangs painted over and a pine scent added to the body. He has a mace that is a recast of a weapon from the original Castle Grayskull.
MOTU Classics Moss Man
Moss Man is a character from the Masters of the Universe franchise, and he is known for his plant-based powers and ability to blend in with his surroundings. In the MOTU Classics line, Moss Man is a highly detailed action figure that closely resembles his appearance in the original Masters of the Universe cartoon series. Released in 2010, MOTU Classics Moss Man was a wonderful homage to the vintage action figure in 7″ scale.
The MOTU Classics Moss Man figure features a green, moss-covered body with intricate details that mimic the texture of real plant growth. He also comes with several accessories, including a detachable vine weapon and a removable head that reveals a more humanoid face underneath the moss.
Moss Man’s powers and abilities are focused on nature and the elements, allowing him to control plants and manipulate his surroundings to his advantage. He is presented as a peaceful and gentle character in the MOTU Classics line, but he is also capable of defending himself and his allies when necessary.
