Fresh off the heals of these October Masters of the Universe reveals, Mattel Creations announces some future MOTU Drops. With some many outstanding figures either revealed at SDCC or teased on card art, we speculate what they could be. We know that the MOTU Origins Skeletor x VeeFriends Skilled Skeleton 2-Pack will be going up for sure coming tomorrow at 9 am PST / 12pm EST. The other four drops listed for the second half of October are listed as “Mattel Creation Exclusives.” And all three of them have 3 $$$ signs under them. You will notice that one of those drops happens October 13th, which is the day after Mattel is supposed to announce the results of the MOTU Fan Vote Crowd Fund Project! Could this possibly it on October 13th? If you want to participate in our unofficial poll, or read more about it, you can go her: Masters of the Universe Eternia’s Choice Fan Vote Crowdfund. Also what do the future Mattel Creations drops have in store for us? Based on what we saw displayed at SDCC 2023 and the incredible MOTU reveals we got on Tuesday, we can surmise the possible candidates for these Mattel Creations Future MOTU Drops! So let’s have some fun and speculate on the remaining con reveals and teased figures!

MOTU Origins SDCC 2023 Reveals
Based on what we saw displayed at SDCC 2023 and the incredible MOTU reveals we got on Tuesday, we can surmise the possible candidates for future Mattel Creation exclusives! Also during SDCC 2023, we learned that they are still continuing with the MOTU Origins line and the vintage inspired figures from the Origins line will be available on Mattel Creations! So let’s take a look at who was conspicuously missing from Tuesday’s reveals, to see who could be left for preorder on Mattel Creations!

Extendar
Coming Spring 2024, Extendar’s extension pieces are separate parts to help maintain elbow articulation. He has removable parts just like the rest of the figures. His head and torso extend from inside his body and he comes with his transforming shield.

Rokkon
He comes with full articulation on his elbows and legs. He transforms into a rock and comes with some removeable parts as well.

They did an amazing job with Rokkon as he appears to be able to transform into, yes you guessed, a rock!

Sy-Klone
Music to collectors ears was the reveal of Sk-Klone!

His torso will still pop off and he actually spins. He comes with 2 extra hands that are tornados, shield, red cyclone rings like what came with the MOTU Classics figure. You pop his torso up and he spins! Sy-Klone maintains all the same articulation as the rest of the figures. He has is lenticular sticker on his chest as well.

Thank to motu.revolution for posting a comparison of the Sy-Klone Origins and vintage figures!

Night Stalker
Revealed during preview night at SDCC 2023, we got more details on Night Stalker!

Night Stalkers coloring in this photo fives the appearance of a mustard yellow paint app versus the gold color we are used to seeing on the vintage figure. He comes with a similar set of accessories like Stridor and, as we suspected, Mattel was waiting for Snake Mountain to release before revealing this creature.

SDCC 2023 Masterverse Reveals
In the amazing SDCC 2023 booth display, we saw e a host of New Eternia figures and one figure from the 1980’s Masters of the Universe Movie! The booth features New Eternia versions of Snout Spout, Tri-Klops, Mekaneck, and Man-At-Arms (we are not counting Vykron because he is released and in collectors hands). We aslo saw the movie version of Evil-Lyn and she looks amazing and very close in likeness to Meg Foster, who is voicing Motherboard in the upcoming Masters of the Universe Revolution Netflix Series. Based on what we know was revealed this week, on;y 1 figure was not part of the big Tuesday Drop, and that was New Eternia Snout Spout!

New Eternia Snout Spout
Snout Spout features an amazing sculpt with large tusks protruding from his head. The vibrant oranges and pinks play nicely off of each other and the extra armor on his shoulders makes him look formidable! The hoses on the belt add a lot of depth and dimension and pays homage to his vintage release while giving him some major updates that only the New Eternia line can!

We also got the concept art for Snout Spout sent to us from our very own Allison Troy from the Power and Honor foundation MOTU Book. This is the concept art for the New Eternia version of Snout Spout that was just unveiled yesterday at SDCC 2023!

Teased figures
In classic MOTU style, we have gotten hints of many future figures to come thru the incredible card art of the figures that get released. So let’s take a look the most recent teased characters to see what future Mattel Creations releases could have in store for us!
Rio Blast Tease
On the recent release of Sssqueeze MOTU Origins figure, we saw an amazing scene with Sssqueeze tangling (pun intended) with some very cool MOTU characters that collector’s have been clamoring for: Rio Blast and Extendar! We already saw Extendar revealed at SDCC 2023, so Rio Blast can’t be far behind! This is the first time we are seeing Rio Blast teased and we are sure collector’s will be going gaga over this! Rio Blast is another character that has his trademark renewed not too long ago on 5/20/2021. Released by Mattel in 1986, Rio Blast is a futuristic cowboy who has hidden blasters all over his body. With pop out laser cannons from his chest and legs six shooters at his wrists and shoulder cannons, Rio Blast was yet another one Mattel’s gimmick heavy figures that was common in the later releases of MOTU figures. A cowboy seems a bit out of place in the planet of Eternia, but this techno-heavy Cowboy sure packs a lot of techno fire power and that technology part is what makes him make sense in the line.

In terms of his backstory, Rio Blast is described as a nomad from the Galactic Wild West who possesses incredible shooting skills and high-tech enhancements. He aids He-Man and the other heroes in their battles against Skeletor and his minions.

Rio Blast was introduced to the line in 1986 and is depicted as a cybernetic cowboy, wearing a western-style outfit. His chest and thighs are equipped with mechanical parts and weaponry.

Two Bad Card Art Tease
Once again, Roy and team knocked it out of the park as we see Dragon Blaster Skeletor spraying his venomous spray toward Thunder Punch He-Man who is attacking riding in the Bashasaurus! And by Dragon Blaster Skeletor’s side is Two Bad making his 3 card art appearance! You will also notice a couple of playful dinosaurs in the background! Is this a hint that we are develaing into Preternia and the Powers of Grayskull line soon? Also, one of the dinos have his ribs exposed, could that be a tease for Battle Bones?

This is the 3rd time that Two-Bad has been teased on MOTU Origins card art! Two-Bad is a two-headed Evil Warrior who is basically two different beings sharing the same body. In some ways he is like siamese twins, although both halves of his body are very different-looking creatures who appear to be from entirely different species. His right half is a blue creature, while his left half is a purple, scaly creature with an eyebrow-like yellow band on his forehead. His two heads have the habit of continuously arguing with one another.
Two-Bad is introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1985. Originally marketed as the “double-headed evil strategist” it is implied he is a master of strategy due to being two warriors in one, but his main trait in all story media is that his two heads have a habit of endlessly arguing with each other, meaning he has always generally been used for comic relief.

Two-Bad first appeared on the Battlefield Warriors box art as he looks like he is in persuit of He-Man.

He the appeared on the back of the recently released Wave 12 Mini Comic Roboto card art!

He-Ro Tease
Seeing He-Ro teased on Fang-Or’s card art gives us hope that we will see a He-Ro figure come to the MOTU Origins line and this lines up with an Instagram post from the amazing Axel Gimenez. Axel Gimenez posted a very intriguing post to Instagram today, with a Super7 5.5″ Vintage Style He-Ro in package next to him and he says “Working, working, and working ??” with a pen sitting next to He-Ro. Now He-Ro holds a very special significance to the Toy Habits family, because it was a friendly trade of the MOTUC He-Ro’s staff that brought the Toy Sorceress and Michael of Toy Habits together to form an amazing partnership of the Toy Habits team you all know and love today! So, if this is a real indication of He-Ro coming to the MOTU Origins line, believe me I would be totally over the moon! that I don’t know about you, but I feel like we have been getting small hints of the Powers of Grayskull for a while now. First with the Camo Khan Card Art Teases, then with the Moss Man MOTU Origins Art Reveal, which both were heavily influenced and teased many Powers of Grayskull characters! If you follow us on YouTube, you know that we have been predicting The Powers of Grayskull to be coming to the MOTU Origins line in 2024! We have had several theories and wish list videos where we discuss our theories on the Powers of Grayskull being the next big theme in the MOTU Origins line, as it naturally follows the Rise of the Snake Men, where the Snake Men originated in Preternia, but we will have more about that for you below.

How cool would it be to get a shiny vac metal gold colored MOTU Origins version of He-Ro, just the thought of it makes me so happy and excited! Also, this opens the door to the Powers of Grayskull characters and dinos! The possibilities are endless! So let’s explore this MOTU Origins He-Ro Tease!
Then we had the following posted by ¡Yo tengo el Poder! (@yo_tengo_el_poder) | Instagram, coincidence, I think not!
He-Ro has been a very popular yet desired character for many years.
¡Yo tengo el Poder! (@yo_tengo_el_poder) | Instagram
Even though we were introduced to the character in Mattel’s 1987 catalog in the United States as the protagonist of the Powers of Grayskull subliminal, it never saw the light and became a desired figure for years. It finally saw the light inside the Classics collection in 2009, but its vintage version was still highly requested, so Super7 released that version in 2019 to the delight of the fans. A new release has been released in 2022 by Mattel within the Masterverse line, based on his appearance in the Masters of the Universe Revelation series.
And, surely, we won’t be long to see the Origins version.
¡Yo tengo el Poder! then included a series of images from He-Ro from early Mattel Prototypes to the Super7 version, to the MOTUC version to the latest Masterverse verision that was recently released. I don’t know about you, but this does not seem like a coincidence!
Here you can see early prototypes of the never produced He-Ro figure by Mattel.
Here you can see early test shot prototypes of the never produced He-Ro figure by Mattel as well.
And of course, once we got to Masters of the Universe Classics, He-Ro was finally released as a production figure for the first time in MOTU history! It was quickly followed by the Super7 5.5″ vintage style version. Then in 2022, we finally got He-Ro in the Masterverse line!
Snakemen Teases
Here we can see Lady Slither on her throne with the two snakemen High Priest Pythonus, (Snakeman Nepthu) and the unnamed Red Snake creature standing by her side.

Below is a full view of the front card back art features that features Fang-or on the front along with Vypor, Strettch Nekk, and Reptilax!

Deep Cut Snake Men Teases
In addition to the amazing card art that Roy Juarez and team pour their hearts and souls into, they also feature potential MOTU Origins figure teases! As David alluded to in his Facebook post today, it appears that Vypor, Strettch Nek, and Reptilax are teased on Lady Slither’s card back! In fact, this will make two teases for Strettch Nek, Reptilax and the High Priest Pyhonus and one for Vypor! In the game of adding up teases, the more teases the more likely Mattel will create these figures and it’s amazing that they are potentially creating more deep cut Snake Men for the MOTU Origins line! Let’s learn more about Vypor, Strettch Nek, and Reptilax!

Vypor
As designed in the MOTU Classics line, Vypor would reuse parts from Snake Face, Lord Dactus and Prahvus but he would need new armor, a new head and a new neck piece. What does make him a possibility is that his head sculpt is inspired by the Snake Tower from the Eternia playset, which comes out next year. Also as Mattel goes deeper into 200x , we could see Lord Dactus and Prahvus as possible figures they could make out of Vypor., who are are both unique characters to that era of MOTU and strong contenders for figures for the MOTU Origins line.

Here is a custom concept of Vypor, from the MOTU Classics line, created by the talented Orsogranito Granitebear Shop! You can see the nods to Viper Tower with the shape of the Snake Head , the chains, and the manta spy!

Strettch Nek
Strettch Nek was first teased on the Serpent Claw MAA is on the MOTU Origins Rise of the Snake Men card back and you can see the cross sell of the other figures on the back. The former Eternian Guard Infiltrator has been renamed the Snake Men Infiltrator.
In this amazing card back art, MAA is tangling with Strettch Nek, which is held over concept from the MOTU Classics era! MAA has him by the neck in this killer scene in the Eternian forest.

Strettch Nek is a concept based on an early Roger Sweet design and he would have a bendy neck, similar to how Squeeeze’s arms bend and stay in place. He would resuse arms, loin cloth, and legs from Whiplash and the torso could be formed from the bottom piece of Tung Lashor combined with the top piece of Ceratus, who has not been hinted at or teased in the MOTU Origins line. He would need new armor and a head but this figure could be done using existing parts that Mattel has created for the Origins line.

Here is a custom concept of Strettch Nek, from the MOTU Classics line, created by the talented Orsogranito Granitebear Shop! It looks like a direct translation from the Axel concept art and would make a very unique addition to the Origins line.

Reptilax
Reptilax, along with Lord Gr’asp & Terroar, can seen in multiple locations of the Camo Khan Card art. Illustrated standing by King Hiss’ throne and also coming thru a portal with Camo Khan, Lord Gr’asp & Terroar along with Reptilax, an unproduced Classics concept, look ready to attack. Reptilax will be making his second appearnace on Lady Slither’s Card art!

Reptilax is another figure Axel designed using a character who appeared in the vintage mini-comics. And he’s also appeared in Origins materials – both on Kol-Darr’s card and in the Camo Khan comic as well as the card art. However, other than parts from He-Man and King Hiss, he requires parts from Tuvar (Two Bad has been teased but yet to be released and Laser Light Skeletor plus he uses parts from Fang Man. While he could be a way for Mattel to work their way to Fang Man and is a reuse of Tuvar parts, which gives them more use out of the eventual Two-Bad figure which itself has limited re-uses.

We came across a 3D rendering of a MOTU Origins style Reptilax figure so you can see what this figure might look like it if was produced.

High Preist Pythonus
The rear of the packaging of the MOTU Origins Deluxe Moss Man is a stunning full color illustration of the entire rear of the package with Moss Man poking out of a ferny bush, fully armored up, mace in hand! He is looking over two new foes. There os a beautiful redish orange Eternian sunset sky in the background. Standing in the distance is the High Priest Pythonus!

Here is a closer look at the High Priest!

Nepthu first appeared as an articulated action figure in August 2013 as part of Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics toyline. He is also referred to as High Priest Pythonus on many MOTU forums. His Classics Bio makes him the first known member of the Snake Men Faction who is not part of the Snake Men species. This concept builds off of the Nepthu character from MOTU Classics who pledged his life to King Hiss during the 2nd Ultimate Battle Ground

Red Snake Creature
There is one more red snake creature that is prominently featured on the back of the card back art work for Moss Man. We searched high and low to confirm who he is, but came up empty handed. So we went right to the source to ask the artist himself! Roy Juarez did respond back to our inquiry, and says that this is an unnamed new character! They are working on giving him a name, but nothing official yet. He looks like a combination of Camo Khan’s flared snake head and body, woth an actual snake like tail on his lower half. In any case, this is an amazing new character!

Quick Flick
Quick Flick is a Snake Man archer. According to Toy Habits Crew member Allison Troy Allison Troy (YouTube Channel | Instagram), “He’d re-use parts from Mantenna which currently exist in the line. He does reuse Lizard Man pieces – but that could be easily replaced with a more generic waist if Mattel doesn’t have any plans to include Filmations’ Lizard Man in Origins. Also he needs Modulok’s feet. Since we have no Modulok yet… although it’s another case where they could make that tooling for this figure and then just re-use it – and we do already have Frog Monger who’s chest gives us a Filmation accurate Modulok. So maybe another new bit of tooling or two for Quick Flick – and then Modulok is more easily achieved.”

Golden Rod
Golden Rod is the robot of the Snake Men. According to Toy Habits Crew member, Allison Troy (YouTube Channel | Instagram), “He reuses parts from Roboto and the Horde Trooper – but he also needs parts from Multi-bot. Golden Rod is a really deep dive but his parts re-use makes it possible to fill out waves that need more tooling and helps Mattel get more use out of the Multi-bot tooling. So at some point he’s not an unrealistic idea for Origins. However – if (when) we get Multi-Bot – Golden Rod is easily achievable via 100% re-use of existing parts. And let’s be honest – other than mini-comics Roboto – that head sculpt doesn’t have a lot of use. So Mattel should definitely consider Golden Rod to join the ranks of the Snake Men.
