MOTU Masters of the Universe SDCC 2026 Booth Reveals

Walking up to Mattel’s SDCC 2026 booth felt like stepping into Eternia itself, with a massive sculpted Castle Grayskull facade forming the entrance archway, flanked by life-size statues of He-Man and Skeletor standing guard on either side, and the sheer scale of it set the tone for everything waiting inside. This was a booth built to overwhelm in the best possible way, and it delivered. The MOTU Chronicles line came out swinging with some heavy reveals, and seeing Clawful, Mer-Man, and Mekaneck join the lineup had me genuinely fired up because these are characters that feel tailor-made for the kind of detailed, stylized treatment Chronicles has been giving the property. Goat Man making his debut was a welcome surprise, and the bestial sculpts across the display really leaned into the creature-heavy side of the mythos in a way that I think collectors are going to love. And then there’s Panthor, who commanded attention even among a packed shelf of reveals, sitting in his packaging with that presence that only the big cat can bring. Beyond Chronicles, Mattel pulled back the curtain on a brand new MOTU Origins line that pays homage to the vintage figures but with a fresh aesthetic and feel, and the fact that they’ve worked a build-a-figure into the wave is a really interesting move that adds a collectibility hook we haven’t seen in Origins before. The booth also featured a stunning Evil-Lyn film costume display, full-scale Power Sword and Havoc Staff replicas, attack vehicles with beast-mouth detailing, and even a Gym Bro Skeletor display that had its own sculpted barbell graphics protruding from the pedestal, which is exactly the kind of weird, fun energy I want from a convention booth. Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain dioramas packed with figures and creature mounts filled out the space, and between the sheer density of product on display and the variety of scales and formats Mattel brought to the table, this was one of those booths where you could spend a long time just taking it all in. Let’s get into everything we saw.

MOTU Booth

A massive booth entrance features a sculpted Castle Grayskull facade, complete with the iconic skull jaw forming an archway between two stone turrets draped in vines and foliage. Life-size statues of He-Man and Skeletor flank either side of the entrance, with display cases and product shelving visible through the opening beyond.

IMG 2386 2

The Evil-Lyn costume display showcases the full-scale film wardrobe on a mannequin inside a glass case, with the organic, vine-like bodice sculpt wrapping the torso in layered tendrils and the tall staff topped by a spherical orb. A small figure sits at the base of the case beside the placard, matching her costume design at collectible scale.

IMG 2432

A wide display case holds a packed diorama of MOTU Core figures arranged among sculpted terrain pieces, including a Castle Grayskull playset with its iconic skull facade and a large Snake Mountain with a carved serpent winding around its rocky face. The mix of heroes, villains, and beasts fills out the scene with weapons, shields, and creature mounts scattered throughout.

IMG 2430

A packed display case diorama features Castle Grayskull on one end and Snake Mountain on the other, with rocky terrain pieces and scattered boulders filling the space between them. Multiple figures and creature mounts are staged throughout, including what looks like Battle Cat and Panthor among the group.

IMG 2387 2

A display wall features multiple glass cases of varying sizes, with a large-scale Power Sword mounted inside an ornate pedestal occupying the biggest case, and a full-size Havoc Staff with its coiled ram skull displayed in the tall case below it. The smaller cases hold a Skeletor bust, a pair of figures with their packaging, and an assortment of collectible UNO cards.

IMG 2428

Gym Bro Skeletor’s display case sits on a tall pedestal featuring a bold illustrated graphic of Skeletor curling a barbell, with the barbells physically protruding outward from the panel in a sculpted 3D cutout. Inside the case, two small figures flank a printed card backdrop, with accessories including what looks like a tiny office chair and a small dumbbell set.

MOTU Chronicles

A wide booth display spans two shelves packed with figures and boxed product, with the upper shelf holding a dense lineup of characters alongside packaged boxes and a large creature figure, while the lower shelf features the attack vehicles, Panthor in his boxed display, and several of the more bestial sculpts from the line.

IMG 2404 2

A group display of MOTU Chronicles figures are on full display. Evil-Lyn, Trap Jaw, and the horned, hooved Goat Man from the line are all grouped together and look awesome.

IMG 2405 2

He-Man mounted on Battle Cat front and center, the big cat’s sculpted striped hide and saddle armor dominating the lineup. That Battle Cat sculpt is really impressive at this scale. We can also see Mekanek’s loooooooong neck!

IMG 2406 2

Mekaneck’s signature extending neck is on full display, with the segmented, ribbed neck piece stretching tall from the torso and topped by his helmet and visor. The sculpted tech detailing on the shoulder armor and chest harness is packed with mechanical texture, and the buckled boots add a nice rugged touch to the lower half.

IMG 2388 2

The lower half of Mekaneck’s suit has sculpted panel lines running across the legs, with armored kneecaps and shin guards breaking up the segmented bodysuit. His boots have a layered, strapped construction with X-shaped emblems stamped into the shin plates.

IMG 2389 2

Evil-Lyn’s headdress has a heavily textured, reptilian sculpt with sharp spines radiating outward, and the bodice carries the same organic, scaled patterning across the torso. She carries her staff, with a draped skirt panel hanging between her armored leg plates.

IMG 2391 2

Goat Man figure carries a large double-bladed axe on a long shaft, and the belt area has a sculpted buckle with an intricate beast motif worked into it. His curled ram horns have a nice ridged texture spiraling outward from the head, and the open-toed boots with cloven hooves are a great character-specific detail.

IMG 2392 2

Armored Teela’s ornate chest plate and hip armor are covered in scrolling filigree, with the helmet featuring a pointed crest and a sculpted beast emblem at the crown. She carries a spear with a pointed tip and a round shield with concentric rings, and a petal-shaped skirt piece fans out from beneath the waist armor.

IMG 2393 2

Armored Teela and her ornate armor is covered in swirling filigree across the torso and hip plates, with a sculpted beast face worked into the abdominal section. Her shield has concentric rings radiating from a center point, with bladed fins protruding from the outer edge.

IMG 2394 2

The helmet has a pointed crest at the crown and a wide visor opening, with a ribbed hose running from the base of the helmet down into the chest armor. His layered tasset plates have a chevron-shaped sculpt along the lower edge, and the belt buckle carries a small winged emblem.

IMG 2395 2

We can see the MOTU Chronicles Sky Sleds with swept-back wings and sculpted beast-mouth detailing on their nose sections. The vehicles feature mounted cannons and fins with organic, claw-like shapes worked into the wing panels.

IMG 2396 2

The nose section of one of the vehicles has a sculpted dragon head with open jaws and fangs worked into the side panel, framed by angular fins. The Goddess and what looks to be a heavily armored warrior flank either side of the vehicle, giving a good sense of its scale relative to the figures.

IMG 2397 2

The vehicle’s upper fuselage has a barrel-shaped canister mounted behind the cockpit and a forward-firing cannon extending from the nose, with flame effect pieces plugged into the wing tips and tail fins. The dragon head sculpt on the side panel has textured scales and an open-jawed snarl, with webbed fin detailing worked into the wing surface.

IMG 2398 2

The figure carries a long staff weapon, and beside him one of the Sky Sled’s sits on a clear flight stand with its beast-mouth nose section open wide, flame effect pieces plugged into the rear fins. The vehicle’s cockpit has a raised canopy with a hinged cover, and the swept-back wings taper into sharp, claw-like tips.

IMG 2427

The box features vivid artwork on the side panel depicting Skeletor mounted atop Panthor in full charge, with the cat’s jaws open wide and claws extended. Inside the window, the figure fills the tray with its sculpted fur texture and heavy armored saddle piece with ridged, segmented detailing across the chest and shoulder plates.

IMG 2399 2

Panthor’s head sculpt has a snarling open mouth with individually sculpted fangs and a wrinkled muzzle, framed by the horned helmet piece that sweeps back over the skull. The saddle armor has layered, fin-shaped plates running along the spine, with a curved wing-like panel flaring out from the shoulder section.

IMG 2400 2

Panthor’s helmet has a curved, open-framed design with segmented plating and a pointed crest, the horns sweeping outward in a wide arc over the head. The fur texture along the neck and shoulder area has a dense, shaggy sculpt that contrasts nicely with the smooth armored plates layered over it.

IMG 2426

Panthor’s helmet has a wide, open-framed construction with curved horns sweeping back on either side, the plating covered in a carved, scale-like texture that wraps around the crown. The face sculpt beneath it has a snarling, wrinkled muzzle with bared fangs and bright green eyes, with dense, shaggy fur texture sculpted along the neck and chest.

IMG 2401 2

The webbed fin pieces on the back of Mer-Man’s arms have a sculpted membrane structure with ridged spines, matching the spiny crest on his head. His feet have wide, splayed toes with webbing between them, giving the sculpt a fully amphibian look from head to toe.

IMG 2425

Mer-Man’s reptilian head sculpt has a beaked snout with a furrowed brow and spiny crest running along the crown, and the skin texture across the arms and torso shifts between smooth plating on the underbelly and bumpy, warted patches on the outer limbs. His tattered loincloth has a ragged, seaweed-like sculpt hanging between organic coral-shaped hip armor.

IMG 2403 2

Clawful’s leg armor has layered, segmented plates running from the thighs down to the shins, with riveted studs dotting each section and small teal accents peeking out at the knee joints. A thick, textured tail curls behind him, covered in bumpy, nodular sculpting that gives it a distinctly crustacean feel.

IMG 2424

Clawful’s oversized pincer claw has a rough, pitted texture with deep pockmarks covering its entire surface, tapering to a hooked tip. His riveted belt plates have rounded studs at each corner, and the tattered loincloth piece hangs in jagged, uneven strips between them.

IMG 2402 2

The figure wears a layered outfit with a scaled bodice over a white tunic, paired with wrapped forearm guards that have a banded, coiled texture. Her boots have a tiered construction with armored shin plates, and a holstered weapon hangs from the sculpted belt at her hip.

IMG 2413

Man-E-Faces has his helmet locked into one of his signature face plates, with the narrow visor window framing a red-eyed expression. His boots have heavy, squared-off shin guards with sculpted mechanical detailing, and the ribbed tubing across his chest harness wraps neatly into the shoulder armor.

IMG 2414

Man-At-Arms sits in his window box with a mace and a Build-a-Figure piece tucked into the tray beside him, the Shadow Beast silhouette printed on the lower corner of the card. Trap Jaw peeks into frame on one side with what looks like a small vehicle partially visible on the other.

IMG 2416

Zodac’s red chest armor has the signature “H”-shaped emblem with horizontal bars sculpted into the plate, and his helmet features rounded ear pieces flanking the ridged crown. His boots end in sculpted clawed toes, a nice nod to his alien heritage.

IMG 2418

Faker Teela’s armor has a heavily segmented, ribbed sculpt wrapping from the headpiece down through the torso, with a beast face worked into the crown of the hood. Her snake staff has a coiled serpent at the top with a forked tongue extending from its open mouth, and the round shield carries an ornate scrollwork pattern pressed into its face.

IMG 2419

IMG 2409

Mer-Man’s torso armor is covered in a fish-scale pattern with scalloped edges, and the belt is a tangled mass of sculpted seaweed-like tendrils draping around the waist. His sword has a bumpy, coral-encrusted texture running the length of the blade, with a crossguard shaped like a pair of small fins.

IMG 2415

Stratos has a blue helmet with a sculpted red crest running along the crown, and his feathered wing pieces extend from the upper arms with layered, individually carved plumes tapering to pointed tips. The lower legs have a textured, fur-like sculpt that transitions into smooth white boots.

IMG 2422

Shadow Beast’s fur texture has a deeply carved, striated sculpt covering the arms and legs, with heavy ridges creating a layered, shaggy look that extends down to the clawed toes. The spiked mace has a chunky, multi-pronged head on a thin shaft, and the studded belt has a row of rounded rivets circling the waist above a ragged loincloth piece.

IMG 2412

Trap Jaw’s helmet has a jagged, open-jaw chin guard with teeth-like serrations framing his face, and the skull-and-crossbones buckle on his belt is a fun, classic detail. His boots have a heavy, layered cuff construction with thick straps wrapping around the shins.
