MOTU Origins Leech & Snout Spout found at Frank and Sons in California and we have some amazing IN HAND Images to share!
As we covered in our previous article, a lucky collector acquired the latest Master of the Universe Origins Deluxe Snout Spout and Leech at Frank and Sons collectible show in the City of Industry, California! I have been to Frank and Sons, and it is a toy collector’s paradise! A huge warehouse filled with rare and vintage toys! And this lucky collector @plaityme was kind enough to post some fabulous photos to his Instagram page! These two new figures look amazing!! The all-new sculpting and amazing action features to these guys have got to make this the funnest deluxe figure out to date! Let’s take a close look at these fabulous IN HAND photos, shall we?
Leech
Leech was featured on the 1980’s She-Ra Princess of Power cartoon, but his action figure did not resemble the cartoon version. This Origins version of Leech is an amazing homage to the vintage Leech action figure, with the big red Horde symbol on his chest, suction cup faces, hands and feet and all! Leech looks absolutely spectacular in hand; I have got to say! Out of all the new Origins figures that we announced during Mattel’s week of reveals back in March, Leech was the figure I was most excited about! Leech comes packed with 2 head sculpts, the first that resembles the vintage style head and the second being his “MOTU” classics style head. The MOTU classics head looks freakin amazing, and why shouldn’t it as it was created by the epic figure sculptors, none other than the Four Horsemen! This new Origins Leech is freakin’ rad and this is the Leech we have always wanted!
Leech’s vintage style head is a perfect tribute to the 1980’s vintage Leech figure! With the classic suction cup on the front of his face, you can stick Leech to all of your favorite smooth surfaces! The details on Leech’s chest and torso are just absolutely beautiful! The reddish orange straps on his wrists are a perfect recreation of the vintage action figure. That bright red horde bat logo is the cherry on top of a perfect Leech Origins figure!
When Leech was first announced, one question we had was how the action feature would work? The yellow burst on the front of his packaging says, “Figure really sticks to smooth surfaces!” Well, now we can see Leech’s action feature in action!!! He really does stick to smooth surfaces! Check out how cool he looks stuck to this car windshield! Man that’s cool!!! You can see his suction cups on his face and hands have little tabs to help release him from his suctioned grip! The vintage figure used to have a button you press to activate the suction feature, but this new origins version looks like it just sticks on. Let’s hope it’s got a strong suction grip!
Here you can see a great view of Leech’s back side. Again, the beautiful you an seen the beautiful detail in his back sculpt. And this is not just a clamshell armor, but his actual body sculpt. We also get a view of his interchangeable suction hands and standard hands as well!
Leech includes the Night of the Leech mini comic packed inside, with Leech featured on the comic cover art! We also have a view of Leech’s instructions show all his removeable parts. Typical of the rest of the figures with removeable head, arms, torso and boots.
Snout Spout
Here we have IN HAND images of Snout Spout, the Heroic Eternian Firefighter! Mattel did an excellent job on Snout Spouts design. He looks just like his vintage counterpart, with a robotic elephant face, orange body red gloves, blue shorts and black boots. This version of Snout Spout comes with both a MOTU classics looking head and a vintage style head. The MOTU classics style head shown below looks to have an articulated snout that can stretch open and bend! This will be a fun one to pick up!
Snout spout also comes equipped with an oxygen backpack and his firefighting axe as well! He really looks great all geared up!
The great thing with this deluxe figure is that you can change his look and use his vintage style head that connect to the water tank backpack by which you can fill and spray water out of his firefighting elephant nose with the spray action feature! You can see in the photos below that we get a look at his spray feature. The stream of water looks to be a little weak, but hopefully in person he has a stronger spray then depicted in the photo.
In the images below, we get a close look at Snout Spout’s water spraying backpack and the spot to where you can click it on the back of his armor. I love how you have options for two totally different looks to Snout Spout. from his head style to the type of back pack he is wearing!
Snout Spout comes with the same Night of the Leech mini comic packed inside. We also have a view of Snout Spout’s instructions, which show all his removeable parts. Typical of the rest of the figures with removeable head, arms, torso and boots.
Seeing these in hand images of Snout Spout and Leech in action makes me super excited to pick these guys up! Hopefully they will be readily available. As soon as we find any retail links for these guys, we will be sure to add them to our MOTU Origins Shop page, and we will let you all know!

Amazing! The fun this line is bringing back to millions of adult-children is immeasurable. The negative of course is waiting months and months for a figure to arrive. Let’s hope when the world settles that the stocks on these items will make sense.
