September 17, 2025 Update: Kobra Khan Delayed Requiring Amazon Approval
Collectors, here’s a quick but important heads up regarding Masterverse Wave 18! If you preordered the New Eternia Kobra Khan on Amazon, you’ll want to log into your account and double check your order status because some fans are being prompted to approve a delay. We’ve already seen Target go through this same process recently with the MOTU Retro Punching 2-packs, which unfortunately ended in a number of cancellations, so it’s definitely worth taking a moment to make sure your order doesn’t get caught in the shuffle. As of right now, Kobra Khan is sold out everywhere online, so if your Amazon preorder is sitting there waiting for approval, you don’t want to risk losing it. A quick check-in could be the difference between securing him for your collection or missing out entirely.

Kobra Khan was released in 2012 in the MOTU Classics packaging can obscure the head sculpt, particularly the second head, but for MOC collectors, the consistent design is important. For those who open their figures, this is not an issue. His bio reads, “A descendent of the ancient Snake Men, Khan became fascinated with the many legends of their victories in the Great Wars. Breaking into the archives of Eternos Palace, he learned that the great King Hssss had been locked in the Void at the end of the war. In a ruse to free his King, Khan joined forces with Skeletor and, with the help of Evil-Lyn, they acquired Zodak’s staff, the key to freeing his Snake Men brethren. Together he and Evil-Lyn opened the Snake Pit portal releasing Hssss and his ageless army, returning their terror to Eternia. Khan went on to loyally serve Hssss, controlling his prey with his evil hypnotic mist!”

For the March 2012 release, Kobra Khan, the ambassador between Skeletor and Hssss, has been included. This character has appeared in both the original series and the 2002 reboot, and the new release features subtle references to both versions of the show.
