New Mega Construx figures were revealed! Could these be the MOTU Mega Construx Snake Mountain figures we’ve been waiting for?

The official Masters of the Universe Mega Construx website has put up new images of 8 new MOTU Mega Construx figures and one creature! We have not seen the line up of figures that are supposed to come with Snake Mountain yet, so these could be it! Six of them are reported to be coming in the aforementioned lair of Skeletor and his henchmen, but we are not sure of all of the variants of He-Man and Prince Adam listed below will be packed with the set but hey…we have photos!

Heroic Warriors

He-Man

Ram Man: This is Rammy’s inaugural appearance in the line and he looks amazing! He comes in his classic original Filmation colors (versus his orange mini comic look). They got the details dead on with Ram Man as his chest armor is very detailed and you can even see the skull represented on his belt.

Thunder Punch He-Man: It is so cool to see Thunder Punch He-Man in the line and he looks just like his vintage figure. I love that they included an homage to the caps that came with his vintage figure as you can see them nested in the shield. Completing the look is his signature yellow sword and his red armor that adorns his chest. You know where there is a Thunder Punch He-Man, Dragon Blaster Skeletor is not far behind. In fact, we’ll get to this baddy with the Dragon pet soon enough!

Revelation Prince Adam : Is Mega Construx starting to build out the Revelation series? We hope so and it looks like this cell shaded prince of Eternia is just that!

Revelation He-Man: This looks like a Revelation style version of the most powerful man in the universe based on the chest harness design and the animated cell shaded look. This version comes with a yellow Power Sword but it remains to be seen if this is a glow in the dark version.

Evil Villains

Dragon Blaster Skeletor MOTU Mega Construx Figure
Webstor MOTU Mega Construx Figure
Screeech MOTU Mega Construx Figure

Dragon Blaster Skeletor: It’s quite spectacular to see Dragon Blaster Skeletor as mini figure! All of the parts that were used in the vintage figure are represented very accurately, with an additional bonus! It looks like Skeletor’s pet comes with a ver cool sky blue blast effect, which mimics the action feature that came with the vintage figure where water could shoot from his mouth. The green lock and cuff are also represented in a very cool translation into a mini figure form!

Webstor: The evil master of escape was a huge surprise and this is one of the coolest figures in this set of reveals. Like the MOTU Classics version, he has legs coming out of his back and they even paid homage to his grappling hook but it remains to be seen if this will a functioning piece. The purple armor and the red beady eyes are striking against the dark blue of the figure.

Evil-Lyn and Screeech: Like the Sorceress and Zoar that came with the Mega Construx Castle Grayskull, we are guessing that this pair will be packed with the upcoming Snake Mountain, which we have yet to see official images of. This version of Evil-Lyn looks very similar to the previous version but a tad less yellow! This is Screeech’s first appearance in the line and we are happy to see it!

Trap Jaw: We JUST got a Traw in the latest MOTU Mega Construx 5 Pack but with pink attachments, like the Filmation version. This Trap Jaw, however, comes with black attachments like his vintage counterpart from the 80’s. While it is cool that we are getting a version that resembles the iconic figure in the 80’s, I don’t think we needed another one, but this was an easy repaint for Mattel!

Inspiration for the New Figures

With Webstor, Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Thunder Punch He-Man, Ram Man, and Screeech being new sculpts in the line, let’s take a look the inspiration for these figures:

Webstor Inspiration: You might be wondering where the legs on Webstor come from but his MOTU Classics version introduced this concept, which is pretty cool as you can envision him more as a spider than before.

Thunder Punch He-Man Masters of the Universe 1985

Thunder Punch He-Man Inspiration: Using the vintage figure as the guide, you can see the new Mega Construx Thunder Punch He-Man is a direct translation of the 80’s figure. You can even store his yellow power sword in his shield too!

Dragon Blaster Skeletor MOTU Mega Construx Figure

Dragon Blaster Skeletor Inspiration: Like Thunder Punch He-Man, the Mega Construx Dragon Blaster Skeletor draw upon the vintage figure design. You can see the chain attached to the green cuff that leads all the way to the lock on the pet Dragon. The Dragon looks amazing on the back of Skeletor and it’s cool to see a mini version of his pet with a very cool water blast effect.

Screeech MOTU Mega Construx Figure

Sorceress Zoar Masters of the Universe Mega Construx
Zoar MOTU Mega Construx

Screeech Inspiration: As a direct repaint of the previous version of Zoar that came with the Mega Construx Castle Grayskull, the new Screeech has his classics markings like the vintage design.

Ram Man MOTU Mega Construx Figure
Ram Man MOTU Mega Construx
Ram Man Masters of the Universe 1983
Ram Man Masters of the Universe 1983

Ram Man Inspiration: The new Ram Man figure draw heavily on the vintage sculpt, but this Ram Man is a much sleeker design. They chose to cut the shoulder armor off at the shoulder, which gives him a more slender look. They also painted the belt black, which makes the skull belt buckle stand out more.

Repaint Comparisons

Like most Mattel releases in any of their MOTU lines, we can expect some repaint so let’s take a look at the previous versions of Evil-Lyn, He-Man, and Prince Adam to see what the differences are:

Evil Lyn MOTU Mega Construx Figure
New Evil-Lyn
Evil Lyn Masters of the Universe Mega Construx Version 1
Evil Lyn Version 1

Evil-Lyn Comparison: We are not sure if it’s lighting on the new version of Evil-Lyn but she does look a lot less yellow than her previous release. This looks more inline with the Filmation vibe that some of the new figures revealed have! Her outfit also looks like it has a lighter blue paint app as well!

He-Man Glow In the Dark Sword MOTU Mega Construx Figure
Revelation He-Man
He-Man Masters of the Universe Mega Construx Version 1
Previous He-Man Release

He-Man Comparisons: There have been several He-Man mini figures released for the line but expect different color boots, cuffs, loin cloth, belt, and as you can see, the Power Sword! Upon closer inspection and seeing this figure side by side with a previous version of He-Man, it looks like the newer version has been rolling around in the mud so it will be interesting to see how this turns out in actual plastic! The chest harness design of the symbol is that of the Revelation line so it will be interesting to see how deep they go!

Prince Adam MOTU Mega Construx Figure
Revelation Prince Adam
Prince Adam Previous Release

Prince Adam Comparisons: Again, expect a recoloring for pretty much every aspect of this newer, cell shaded version of Prince Adam! His vest looks like a lighter and there are dark gray and purple markings all over the figure, which is a similar treatment they are giving He-Man. The face sculpt is also different as the Revelation Prince Adam has more of a scowl on his face. We expect this figure to also be from the Revelation line but are unsure where he fits into the grand scheme of things.

Trap Jaw Comparisons

Trap Jaw MOTU Mega Construx Figure
New Trap Jaw
Trap Jaw Masters of the Universe Mega Construx Version 2
Trap Jaw Version 2

Trap Jaw Comparisons: The new version of Trap Jaw is modeled after his vintage figure as the changes from his previous version are black repaints of his boots and arm attachments. It looks like Trap Jaw’s helmet is also a lighter color, which we are guessing is the same for this green belt, cuff, and face.

Snake Mountain Figures?

It is probably a given that 6 of the figures listed above will be coming with Snake Mountain so we think they could be Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Webstor, Evil-Lyn & Screeech, Trap Jaw, Ram Man, and Thunder Punch He-Man. We are unsure where the cell shaded versions of Prince Adam and He-Man with the yellow sword fit in, but your guess is as good as ours! As no official images have been released for Snake Mountain, you can get a taste of what is to come below or, better yet, check out the Snake Mountain update article for more photos!
