The MEGA Snake Mountain set is live on Mattel Creations for preorder with a ship date on or before August 31, 2022. If you were hoping to use your $10 off coupon you received for the Wun-Dar debacle, you are out of luck as it does not appear to work for Snake Mountain!

Thanks again to yo_tengo_el_poder, as suspected from clues via Amazon and the Euro Mattel Shop, Mattel confirmed via Twitter that the Mega Snake Mountain set that will available for preorder FIRST on Mattel Creations, will be available through other online retailers at a later date.
7/6/2022 UPDATE: MEGA Snake Mountain July 8, 2022 Launch Date via Mattel Creations
We FINALLY have a lunch date for the highly anticipated Mega Construx Snake Mountain and it appears that this set is getting a rebrand where Mattel is dropping the ‘Construx’ and moving to just referring to this set as MEGA! We are assuming that this will be a wide release and not a Mattel Creations exclusive so we will provide preorder information as the launch drops on July 8, 2022 at 9am PT on the Mattel Creations website and the MSRP is set at $321. From the image from Amazon search results we posted back in June, it looks like the official release date for this amazing set is November 2, 2022. Until then, enjoy the new photos that they posted on the site!

Thanks to viewer Gorilla Estefan for alerting us of the international listing for Snake Mountain on the Mattel International website, so it can’t be long until we see it listed here in the U.S.! We also got a few newer official images of Snake Mountain! Enjoy below. We can see Thunder Punch He-Man failing into the trap door into the pit of snake tentacles. And we also get a closer view of Thunder Punch He-Man, Ram Man and Webstor mini figures!

7/1/2022 UPDATE: Official Images
Finally the day has arrived where we can view official images of the Masters of the Universe Mega Construx Snake Mountain thanks to yo_tengo_el_poder! This set looks absolutely stunning in the classic purple deco with the large green snake winding around it!
Although we can’t see a full photo of the front of the set, we can see a partial image if the classics face on the front plus their homage to the microphone! There are tons of details to pour over here so have fun!
Amazon Preorder Coming Soon!
If the official images were not enough, for the last few weeks we have seen a placeholder listing for this set on Amazon (it should be on the first page) but the link has been inactive so we are wondering if the preorder will go live soon! We’ve seen prices range from $299.99 to $320.99 but we had found the $299.99 price point via other sources so that is most likely it.
If you are unable to find Snake Mountain in search results, this means that Amazon has removed the listing temporarily, but we will keep you updated if it appears again.

6/4/2022 UPDATE: We at Toy Habits are constantly looking for helpful information to keep our fellow collectors informed! We have tracked down the “future” U.S Amazon Listing for Snake Mountain. The link is not yet live on the Amazon system, but we did get the price for Snake Mountain, and it looks like it will list for $299.99 USD. As soon as we uncover the live Amazon Link, we will update you!
Snake Mountain is coming to Mega Construx and the listing has emerged on Amazon UK & Toy Palace websites!
It looks like the long awaited Mega Construx Snake Mountain is real and the listings has shown up on Amazon.co.uk! But when can we expect to see it is anyone’s guess! Also, when will we get some real product images? The listing calls out ” “MEGA HHD16 Building Sets, ,Multicolor.” And there is also just a photo of a Mattel box, but if you read closely, you will notice in the description that is clearly reads “Mega Construx Masters of the Universe Snake Mountain“.

Also if you look at the product description, you will see that it reads ” Become the Lord of Destruction when you build Eternia’s dark hemisphere fortress – the evil, iconic Snake Moutain. Based on the Masters of the Universe: Classics version, this collectors build is the ultimate challenge, featuring countless rooms and, classic decor and, of course, of all Snake Mountain’s iconic features. MEGA Signature building sets are designed for ages 14 and up.”
The German website Toy Palace, also has Snake Mountain listed, but here interestingly enough, there is a price of $369.90 Euros ($388.69 USD) and an estimated date of delivery of Nov. 30, 2022!!
When the Mega Construx team first revealed the prototype of Snake Mountain, they said, “if you like Castle Grayskull, you are gonna love Snake Mountain” and I have to agree with them! The inspiration of the design harkens back to the vintage toy and they said they are even including stickers to ensure that nostalgic feel of first opening Snake Mountain and putting it together. Using multicolor bricks just to illustrate the size, shape and layout of a potential Snake Mountain, the team said this set was in the validation stage so the colors do not represent what the real Mega Construx Snake Mountain will look like and we can’t wait to see what the actual official images look like. It has so many cool features, including detachable modules, stickers that you can apply (or misapply in my case lol), the serpent, the coiled snake that wraps around the mountain, and the demon head (the mouth actually moves like the vintage MOTU Snake Mountain. Inside Snake Mountain you can stow some very cool display pieces like the bone chair (how cool is that!!!), the table, and the tentacle monster!
