Skeletor and Demogorgon MOTU Origins Stranger Things Crossover In-Hand Images

Special thanks to Aaron, huge friend of Toy Habits, for sending these amazing in-hand images of the Skeletor and Demogorgon MOTU Origins Stranger Things crossover 2-pack. Aaron was johnny on the spot with his order from Target is it went up for sale in the wee hours of the night (2am to be exact). This 2-pack was revealed way back in October 2023 during Mattel’s second MOTU figure drop of the year and it seemed like preorders were going up everywhere except Target. In the U.S., the Skeletor and Demogorgon 2-pack is a Target exclusive and we have the link to the listing so you can keep tabs on it.

Packaging

If you are not familiar with the Demogorgon, he appears in the Netflix series, Stranger Things. According to Fandom, “The Demogorgon, also known as the Monster, was a predatory humanoid creature that entered Hawkins, Indiana in November 1983. The creature seemed to originate from the parallel dimension known as the Upside Down”, therefore this new box style is apropos! The style of the box is how many of the Stranger Things crossover figures are packed with one right side up and one upside down. You can see how the Skeletor top half of the box is MOTU themed with the red rock burst and the Stranger Things half is themed with growing vines and such.

Here we can see the back of the package, and there is an incredible large illustration featuring Skeletor and the Demogorgan. You can see Snake Mountain in the Filmation style illustrated in the background as well. The inside of the packaging includes a beautiful insert with additional MOTU and Stranger things themed background.

The sides of the box also have art on them as well featuring Skeletor with Snake Mountain on one side and the Demogorgon on the other.

Once removed from their packaging the action figures looks great. Skeletor comes with his version 1 head sculpt and is packaged with his typical havoc staff and sword. Then the Demogorgon comes wearing gold Beast Man armor. The head sculpt on the Demogorgon is totally new as it’s never been a MOTU character of course. But the rest of his body is reused parts. He has a Beast Man body and arms and legs. But then uses the hands and feet that were also used for the Turtles of Grayskull Mutated Moss Man. His feet look more like plant roots than toes.

Here is a close of of Demogorgon’s big flower like head. You can see it has a ton of sculpted detail in it. Also, you can attach the included flame effects onto his wrists.

Demogorgon comes with a staff that has a multisided dice on each end and two flame effects that attach to the each end of the staff as shown below.

We get to see more detailed images of the upcoming Target exclusive Skeletor and Demogorgon 2-pack! We’ve been tracking the preorders for these figures. As expected, Skeletor comes with his Havoc Staff and a gray power sword. The Demogorgon’s weapon looks like two maces joined together with and energy effect on it. It’s cool to see the weapon that he comes with.

Here we get to see the rear side of the Demogorgon, and you can see his gold Beast Man armor.

The paint app on Skeletor is a darker blue on the figure buck and he has an open mouth expression! Getting our first look at the Demogorgon figure in more detail, the head, hands, and feet are unique pieces,

Special thank to 57.0rion for the heads up that rrrrobles, who is an Executive Producer of the Stranger Things The Animated Series, received a special MOTU gift today in the form of the Skeletor and Demogorgon 2-Pack! This is our first look at the 2-pack in box, which was revealed! There must have been a filter applied to the photo that was posted on Instagram as Skeletor looks more green and the Demogorgon looks more brown but it’s so cool to see the boxed image nonetheless. The style of the box is how many of the Stranger Things crossover figures are packed with one right side up and one upside down.

October 9, 2023: The Whole Shebang Preorder

What is great about various websites putting this set up for preorder is that we can figure out when this set might be hitting the United States. As called out in their product listing, the release date shows this set coming at the end of April 2024. There are no offcial images yet as the The Whole Shebang is using the images from the Skellebration MOTU Origins drop from October 3, 2024.

This Stranger Things MOTU Origins crossover is the first of its kind for the Masters of the Universe this two pack will be a Target exclusive in the U.S. This unique set was revealed along with Lord Gr’asp and Terroar, and a new figure, Necro-Conda, which will be Walmart exclusives. Given that Target is handling this 2-pack, it could be worse as this very well could have been a Walmart exclusive.
