The Collector might be coming to MOTU Origins line based on this tease
It may be the 4th of July and Roy Juarez is ringing in the holiday as he does best with his Snake Mountain MOTU Origins box art reveal! Way back in late April 2023, Roy teased Snake Mountain box art but we could only decipher what we could see at the time. With just the front of the box to look at, we saw some amazing teases on the box art in the form of Lord Gr’asp (2nd time), Terroar (2nd time), and Two-Bad (4th time). With a complete look at the box art, we see a tease of epic proportions in the form of The Collector from the Filmation series. We hope this gives creedence to the Filmation leaks that are rumored to come to MOTU Origins. Before we dive in, we would love to give Kiko Prime a special shout out for spotting The Collector!

We’ve see the front of the box already but no matter how many times you look at it, the illustrations don’t get old!

We finally get to see a close of the illustrations and it looks lie there are spirits of Skeletor below the Talon Fighter on the left panel and we get an amazing glimpse of The Collector in the right panel.

We also get treated to what the back of the box looks like and it is designed in a similar way as the MOTU Origins Castle Grayskull featuring the actual toys.

It is great to see the Skeleton warriors on the box art along with many tried and true characters.

Box Art Teases
The Collector
The Collector is an aircraft used by Skeletor in his attacks upon the forces of good in Eternia. It resembles a skull with large pincers on each side of the hull. According to the MOTU Character Guide and World Compendium Volume 2:
“The Collector was Skeletor’s personal flying ship, named for its specially designed ability to “collect” enemies by turning them into stone and harvesting their life energy. Skeletor created the ship with the intention of using its abilities to resurrect the sleeping stone giant Colossor. Skeletor also used the Collector to infuse life into statues, turning them against He-Man and his allies. The Collector resembled a large dark-blue skull, with a yellow visor-like windshield where the eyes would be and two large, pincer-like claws that acted as energy weapons. The vessel also had a spine-like line of sharp fins along the top of its hull and a single door on the side. Although He-Man seemingly caused Skeletor and the Collector to crash and plunge into the bottomless gorge around Castle Grayskull, both Skeletor and his ship later returned. He no longer employed its life-force-draining capability and used it mainly as a simple attack craft and as transportation. The Collector returned briefly as Skeletor’s transport during an attack on the Royal Palace. He-Man easily broke through the ship’s hull to thwart the villain.”

The Collector Custom Concept
To envision what a MOTU Origins Colletor could look like, we found images of a 3D render and if this is anything of what a potential vehicle could be, this would make an amazing addition to the line!

It looks like the 3D render prints up separate parts that fit together for the assembly of the vehicle.

It has two seats and a detailed control panel.

Terroar
Hypno’s card back teases Terroar, which is awesome as he is a mashup of several produced MOTU Origins figures! If you recall Terroar was never released in the vintage line but he was supposed to be released as part of the Powers of Grayskull line 1988, which got canceled. He was, however, part of a 3 Pack for the MOTU Classics Line. This is the second time now that we can have gotten Terroar teased on a MOTU Origins cardback, so this is a great indicator that we may be getting him and, given that Lulu Berlu has put it up on their website, we can pretty much guarantee this one!

Here you can see what a version of Terror would look like in MOTU Origins form, with this custom figure below. As you can see, Terror is completely a mash up of existing parts. You can see they use Whiplash’s head, Trap Jaw’s right arm and shoulder, Rattlor’s torso, left arm and tail, and Mosquitor’s legs and boots. Again this is a CUSTOM image below, but you can see what it could look like.

Below you can see some unreleased Terroar card art that was planned for the late 1980’s unreleased Powers of Grayskull line. Here it looks like Terroar is battling Slamurai on one image and Plasmar on the next.

If you recall, we saw Terroar in multiple locations of the Camo Khan Card art. Illustrated standing by King Hiss’ throne and also coming thru a portal with Camo Khan, Lord Gr’asp & Terroar along with Reptilax, an unproduced Classics concept, look ready to attack. Lord Gr’asp
Lord Gr’asp is featured on the back of the Slamurai card art. So let’s take a closer look at who Lord Gr’asp is and where else he was teased! What is cool about this figure, if you know the history, is that he was one of several unnamed characters planned for the 1988 wave of the Masters of the Universe toy line, the character appeared on unreleased Mattel cardback artwork illustrated by Errol McCarthy. In 2017, the character was given the name Lord Gr’Asp and released as part of a three-pack with Terroar and Plasmar.Lord Gr’Asp was part of a 2017 PowerCon exclusive3 pack that included Terroar, Plasmar & Lord Gr’Asp.

Lord Gr’asps bio reads: One of the Unnamed One’s elite generals, Lord Gr’Asp used his vile cunning to orchestrate his master’s escape from the Nameless Dimension. He first made an alliance with Horde Prime and persuaded him to destroy the Kaydex Crystal, damaging the barrier that kept the Unnamed One trapped. With a legion of Horde-armored Snake Troopers at his command, Gr’Asp then convinced Hordak and King Hssss to join forces on Eternia. Gr’Asp and his warriors escaped defeat during the Second Ultimate Battleground, but later joined forces with Lady Slither to reconquer Eternia after the Unnamed One’s demise. While Gr’Asp is a master of strategy, he prefers to lurk in the shadows and snatch unsuspecting victims in his Captor Claw rather than engage in a fair fight. While he claims to admire the stealth and skill of enemies like Slamurai and Zodak, he also viciously exploits the naïveté of younger opponents like Strobo and Prince Dare. Lord Gr’Asp hopes to resurrect both the Horde Empire and the Snake Men, but only to help him steal the knowledge of Grayskull for himself.

Lord Gr’asp also had some unreleased card back art from the unreleased Powers of Grayskull line. Here again it looks like he is battling Plasmar.

Lord Gr’asp & Terroar can seen in multiple locations of the Camo Khan Card art. Illustrated standing by King Hiss’ throne and also coming thru a portal with Camo Khan, Lord Gr’asp & Terroar along with Reptilax, an unproduced Classics concept, look ready to attack.

Two Bad
This is the 4th time that Two-Bad has been teased on MOTU Origins card art! Two-Bad is a two-headed Evil Warrior who is basically two different beings sharing the same body. In some ways he is like Siamese twins, although both halves of his body are very different-looking creatures who appear to be from entirely different species. His right half is a blue creature, while his left half is a purple, scaly creature with an eyebrow-like yellow band on his forehead. His two heads have the habit of continuously arguing with one another. Two-Bad first appeared on the Battlefield Warriors box art as he looks like he is in pursuit of He-Man.

We then got to see him on the MOTU Origins Deluxe Terror Claw Skeletor card back art where he was backing up Terror Claw Skeletor with Spikor by his side in a battle against Flying Fist He-Man that continued on his deluxe card back. We now know that Spikor is coming to the line, so it’s only natural that Two Bad could following not too far behind!

He recently appeared on the card art of Mini Comic Roboto so hopefully that means the figure is not too far off in the distant future.

Roboto may have strength of steel, but it’s his cybernetically enhanced heart that makes him one of Eternia’s bravest (swipe to see full artwork)

Two-Bad is introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1985. Originally marketed as the “double-headed evil strategist” it is implied he is a master of strategy due to being two warriors in one, but his main trait in all story media is that his two heads have a habit of endlessly arguing with each other, meaning he has always generally been used for comic relief.
