GI Joe Cobra B.A.T Ultimates Wave 1
As you can see from the digital render images below, the GI Joe Cobra B.A.T looks amazing! It is styled after the Sunbow cartoon version, complete with red face mask, black outfit, clear chest plate, silver and yellow suit accents and yellow boots! The cool thing about this figure is that you can army build this trooper and you have various options to display them and make them look different with the various alternate head and battle damage accessories! And I have got to tell you this B.A.T figure is absolutely LOADED with a TON of accessories! They are shown and listed below.
According to the B.A.T’s production description: They may lack the over-the-top dramatic flourishes exuded by many of Cobra’s notable characters, but Cobra Battle Android Troopers (B.A.T.) more than make up for that in their ability to unleash pure battlefield carnage and mayhem! The made-to-order 7-inch scale fully-articulated G.I. Joe ULTIMATES! figure of the Cobra B.A.T. comes with interchangeable heads and hands, and a variety of accessories, including battle damaged pieces, weapon attachments, multiple guns and more! Dr. Mindbender’s creation may give the G.I. Joes nightmares, but the Cobra B.A.T. ULTIMATES! figure will be a dream to have in your collection!
- 2 interchangeable heads: Regular head & Battle-damaged head with clear sparks
- 6 interchangeable hands: 2x Fist hands, 2x Rifle grip hands, 2x Pistol grip hands
- Removable clear chest cover
- Claw arm attachments
- Gun arm attachments
- Torch arm attachments
- Pistol (fits in holster)
- Grenades (attaches to chest)
- Battle-damaged lower arm
- Battle-damaged neck with clear sparks
- Clear electrical damage spark (attaches to chest)
Cobra B.A.T Figure Production Images
As mentioned above, during the Full Force Weekly’s interview, Brian Flynn pulled out a production version of the Cobra B.A.T Wave 1 Ultimates figure. He showed it in package and then pulled it out of the box to see it in hand! Let’s take a closer look at what the real production version of the figure looks like! The colors and details of the B.A.T’s outfit look just like the digital render! The computer components in his chest are a bit difficult to make out in the image, but the rest of the BAT Ultimates figure looks dead on!
Then Brian pulled out one of the Battle-damaged head with clear sparks. This is where the production version differs a bit from the digital render. The digital render shows the clear sparks coming out of the head to look a translucent blue color and thin and angular. But the sparks coming out of the head in the version Brian Flynn had in his hand, looked to be much thicker, opiate in color and light purple looking. So, the damage sparks on this production version to me were a little bit of a letdown. But overall, this Cobra B.A.T figure looks amazing!
Cobra B.A.T Package Production Images
We also got to take a look at the full production version of the BAT in package. These GI Joe figures come in the same style window packaging as all the rest of the Ultimates figures, but here they are sporting an awesome GI Logo on the front and an embossed dog tag with the character’s name on it. He also went into some detail on the premium outer sleeve, so let’s take a look at that below.
The outer sleeve is made of a Blue Camo pattern metallic finished paper with faux abrasions and includes an embossed Cobra logo on the front and an embossed GI Joe Logo on the back. The GI Joe version is similar with a color GI Joe embossed logo on the front, and in green camo colors.
Duke Test Shot
Brian Flynn also whipped out near the end of the interview a “Test Shot” version of Duke GI Joe Ultimates Figure. This is where the different plastic colors represent what tools each piece comes out of. So, plastics in the same colors come out of the same tooling. It was very interesting to see a process model of Duke. And interestingly enough, Brian Flynn mentioned that they really don’t reuse tooling for different figures, they basically retool each figure new.
