Taurus and Red Dog GI Joe Classified Series 2-Pack Details

As the GI Joe Classified Series name only reveals have only Sgt. Slaugter and Mercer remaining on the list, we are looking to 2026 as the next Renegade 2-pack has been identified by the Full Force Podcast. In his most recent News Burst, he revealed that the Taurus and Red Dog 2-pack is under the code name GIJ CS JQ Jonny 2-PK – G2051 (F). As this is the first of the figures to be decoded, we will be keeping track of the standard retail and exclusive waves as they unfold.

SGT. Slaughter’s Renegades

The 1987 GI Joe action figure Mercer, from Sgt. Slaughter’s Renegades, was part of a special three-pack with Red Dog and Taurus.

Taurus

His accessories include a brown backpack and a silver pistol with stock.

The figure features a bald head with red eyebrows and a thick red mustache. He wears a yellow shirt with black molded details including a shoulder holster. His pants are olive green with black kneepads and straps. He has a brown belt with a gold buckle, a silver wrap around his right forearm, an orange holster on his right thigh, and black boots.

The Renegades aren’t carried on the rosters of any existing military unit. There is no computer access to their dossiers and they are paid through a special fund earmarked for “Pentagon Pest Control”. This gives the Renegades a freedom of operation that the Joes can’t match. It also means that the government can deny everything if they’re caught.

Taurus was a circus acrobat in Europe who did occasional undercover work for INTERPOL. His circus act involved breaking two-by-fours on his own face, a feat which so impressed the G.I.Joe top brass, he was recruited on the spot. Taurus has been cross-trained in explosive and mountaineering and is fluent in a dozen languages.

Taurus Dog Concept

This 6″ scale custom Taurus, created by YoJoeARAH, is a modern interpretation of the classic G.I. Joe character. The figure features a muscular build with a bald head and a distinct red beard, dressed in a bright yellow sleeveless shirt, green tactical pants with black padded sections, and black combat boots. Accessories include a removable brown backpack with rolled green sleeping back, a machete sheathed on the back, and a large combat knife on the thigh. The figure features a dark brown complexion with black hair and a red headband. He wears a red football-style jersey with a white number “1” on the chest, over molded black web gear. His sleeves are white with sculpted folds, and he has gold wristbands and a necklace. The pants are bright blue with a quilted pattern, tucked into tall black boots. A brown belt with a gold buckle wraps around his waist, and a molded holster with a black pistol is attached to his right thigh.

The Renegades have no official status. Their movements and activities are virtually unrestricted. They don’t get any credit when they succeed and everybody denies knowing anything about them when they fall.

Red Dog could have had a pro football career as a barefoot placekicker if a defensive lineman hadn’t ground his cleats into the big Samoan’s obtruding toe. The lineman ended up with a broken helmet and a concussion. Red Dog was suspended for excessive roughness. He later worked briefly as a stuntman in “B” movies until he was recruited by G.I.Joe Command.

“The other Renegades think that Red Dog is a handy gun to have along on missions. If they encounter an obstacle of any kind; barricade, tank-trap or phalanx of armed guards, they simply point Red Dog in the appropriate direction, let him go, and wait for the dust to settle.”
