Turtles of Grayskull Wave 5 Review and In-Hand Images
Ever since we got wind of the Turtles of Grayskull figure Wave 5 assortment way back in May 2024 and they were officially revealed at SDCC 2024, we’ve been clamoring to see in-hand images! We wanted to send a huge thanks to YouTuber TooMuchNewToys for sending us in-hand images of Raphael, Donatello, Mekaneck, and Rattlor. TooMuchNewToys had recieved these figures from Mattel and he was kind enough to share them with our visitors so we can call enjoy them and this new Reptile Wars wave looks amazing! Turtles of Grayskull is the combination crossover of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, TMNT and He-Man Masters of the Universe MOTU, all your favorite characters, comics, mini comics. This wave is the reptile wars as the turtles fight off Snakemen with new gear and powers this wave features Raphael and Donatello in new snake gear and Mekaneck and Rattlor with awesome extending necks. I absolutely love these figures. stay tuned for more.”
Donatello
Donatello comes clad in purple armor from head to toe and he also will come packed with a flame staff! This is the perfect weapon for Donatello as he looks like he could fend off any attack from the Snake Men!
You can take the flames off and it looks like a super cool staff on its own! What is cool about the armor is that it comes off in layers and you can give the figure a very different look! For example, his hood is removable, which gives him a very cool look with just his snake face mask with the teeth coming over his face.
The armor strips down to its bare essentials, which gives him a more classic look! You can also take the silver armor pieces that go over his purple chest armor off. His purple chest armor has a nice metallic look to it and it rivets to make it look like metal.
In his own words, he posted a reel on his Instagram and had this to say “This new Donatello from the Turtles of Grayskull He-man Masters of the Universe x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover is awesome. they address any issues with the previous Donatello as the headgear comes off he has a regular bo staff if you want it that way It’s just a solid amazing Donatello. The number of accessories he comes with is crazy there’s a ton of accessories that can be included on this origins line and you can swap them all about so the value is outrageous this Donatello is so cool @mattel did such a fantastic job thanks again for them sending it over. can pre-order yours at your favorite online store should be out in January.”
Raphael
The Reptile Wars Raphael looks amazing as he is all clad in Snake Armor! There is also armor on his upper right bicep plus the right side of his chest is clad in armor on the right side and the R is set off in black and red. He also comes with an oversized snake grabber or weapon attachment. Raphael looks outstanding in Snake Armor and that oversized snake catcher looks awesome in his hand!
His classic Tsai’s can stow in his turtle shell and there is also armor on his upper right bicep plus the right side of his chest is clad in armor on the right side and the R is set off in black and red in the center of his chest.
Mekaneck
You know what they say, two necks are better than one! Coming packed with two neck attachments and his trutsy mace, Mekaneck looks amazing clad in his highly detailed chest and shoulder armor!
The armor looks like it has turbines on the front and he looks great with this oversized armor! The blue paint app on the figure buck looks metallic gives off a nice shine. Like the other Turtles that come with removable shields, there are ports on his back to stow his shield when not in use.
Mekaneck looks as equally impressive with no necks as this figure looks outstanding! With the shield on his back, he is clad in armor fro head to toe to fend off those pesky reptiles from any attacks coming from the back.
Rattlor
Rattlor was one of the standout figures of the bunch and his colors are spectacular. He is such a unique looking figure with the pinks, yellows, and blues and he is sure to standout in your collection for sure! Like the other mutated figures in the line, his blue plastic is translucent and all of the colors go very well together! The pink plastic on the figure also looks translucent and he is the coolest figure they have produced in the line thus far!
Rattlor looks like he is molting out of the vintage figure’s skin and is such a cool look and a stellar concept! The pink mutations that wrap around his ribcage and around his chest are also removable.
Like Mekaneck, you can attach neck extensions or take them off for a different look! Rattlor’s jaw is also articulated and he looks awesome with it open as he is ready to dig his teeth into anyone!

Reptile Wars Part 1: Snake in the Shadows Mini Comic

The comic leaves off after Krang has been defeated and Shredder has escaped. The Turtles vow to hunt down their arch nemesis but they here whispers of the Snakemen and Clamp Champ and Mekaneck are sent to investigate Snake Mountain. Mekaneck and Clamp Champ run into Rattlor and he thinks they will make great slaves for King Hiss.
The Turtles descend on Rattlor and decude that the Snake Men are working with Shredder. Rattlor said that Shredder’s ooze made him more powerful and it is his job to bring power to him! They notice that the mutation venom is quickly running through Mekaneck’s veins and they want to stop it from flowing
ALONGSIDE HE-MAN, DONATELLO COMBINED THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL WITH HAVOC-INFUSED OOZE AND FUSED THE CONCOCTION INTO ANTI-MUTAGEN WEAPONS PERFECT FOR STOPPING MINDLESS MUTANTS IN THEIR TRACKS. Raphael stops Mekaneck from becoming a mutant and checks in on him. They are trying to find a way into Snake Mountain and the only way is up!
They make their way into Snake Mountain and find the Ooze pit! They wonder why Shredder is teaming with Snakemen after the failures he had with Krang and Skeletor. A Skeletor/Shredder reveals himself along with the Snakemen and want to sacrifice the Turtles to Serpos.
Shredder has merged with Skeletor, who has been bitten by King Hiss and has now been drown in mutagen! Shredder mutates and laughs as we leave the story on a cliffhanger for the next mini comic called Blood of the Dragon!
