I’m really fired up about this one, because after covering the preorder details for the Transformers Missing Link C-10 Ultra Magnus not too long ago, we’re now getting to feast our eyes on a massive in-hand gallery that really shows off what Takara Tomy has accomplished with this release, and it does not disappoint. Huge thanks to Baidu user AugustNoah for coming through with these images, which were compiled over at TFW2005 in a gallery that clocks in at nearly 100 photos, so we’re featuring a curated subset here but I absolutely recommend heading over there to take in the full spread. What we’re focusing on today dives into robot mode, poseability, articulation, the Matrix, and weapons, and honestly this is where the Missing Link line continues to hit the sweet spot for collectors who grew up with the original G1 toys but always wished they could do just a little bit more. Ultra Magnus in robot mode looks incredible, carrying that iconic red, white, and blue deco with all the chunky proportions we love from the vintage figure, but now with the kind of added articulation that lets you actually pose him in stances that the original could only dream of. I love how the Missing Link engineering philosophy preserves the soul of the G1 toy while quietly upgrading the joints and range of motion so that the figure feels modern in your hands without ever losing that classic silhouette. The Matrix is a beautiful inclusion and the weapons look sharp and clean, giving Magnus the full commander presence he deserves.

Ultra Magnus sits nestled in a white styrofoam tray in his cab and car carrier sections, with the blue trailer components separated on the right and the white cab unit on the left. Deerstalker is in his own box at the center of the tray, and an instruction sheet along with a small sealed accessory bag are laid out below.

Ultra Magnus’s white cab unit is displayed in truck mode alongside the blue and red car carrier trailer, with the full accessory spread laid out in front. This looks like he’s just been taking out the styrofoam, which brings me back to the escitement I felt when opening toys as a kid for the first time.

The side panel of the Deerstalker box displays photos of the toy in both its blue-wheeled buggy vehicle mode and its small robot form, connected by a red arrow and “CHANGE” graphic illustrating the transformation between the two. The buggy mode shows a compact chassis with blue wheels, while the robot form stands with its wheels repositioned at the shoulders and legs as it shows how it natural transforms into robot mode. It’s the small details with the these releases as they could have just thrown Deestalker in a bag but he gets his own box!

The small pilot is in a matte grey/blue plastic with a white torso section, this is the inner robot figure. The small silver chrome head sculpt features fine facial detailing, and the limbs show molded panel lines at the knees and forearms, giving the compact figure a surprising amount of character for its size.

Ultra Magnus Figure Details

Ultra Magnus stands in his fully combined robot mode with arms raised and fists clenched, showing off an impressive range of shoulder and elbow articulation that goes well beyond what the original vintage toy could achieve. The white wing panels and the red chest plate with its white waist connector create a striking silhouette, while the blue forearm armor and lower leg sections retain all the chunky proportions of the G1 design.

His upper body showcases the blocky, layered construction of his combined form, with the red chest plate featuring a cross-hatched texture pattern across its surface and small gold-tinted windows flanking the central cavity. The red missile tips on each shoulder launcher add pops of color against the white towers, and the overall proportions from this angle really capture how well the updated engineering preserves that classic G1 presence.

C 10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 19s

Ultra Magnus carries a white rifle with sculpted barrel detailing, adding to his arsenal beyond the shoulder-mounted launchers already equipped. The blue forearm sections and lower legs retain their truck-panel origins with visible wheel wells and axle housings integrated into the limbs, a hallmark of the transformation engineering that keeps the robot mode looking authentically mechanical.

With his chest compartment opened, you can see how the chrome Matrix of Leadership piece seated inside, with its blue central gem and sculpted mechanical housing fitting snugly into the white torso cavity. The chrome finish on the Matrix catches light beautifully against the surrounding matte plastic, and the hinged chest doors with their red and blue flanking armor panels frame the piece nicely.

Ultra Magnus’s white fist extends from the blue forearm compartment in a curled grip. The articulated hand appears to fold out from a recessed housing inside the forearm, a clever engineering solution that keeps the look tidy while adding functional poseability.

C 10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 13m

The arm is shown fully extended outward, revealing the long white internal slider that telescopes from inside the blue forearm housing. This extension increases the reach of the arm significantly, with the white segmented track visible along the underside of the arm as it locks into place. The blue outer forearm shell remains at the end of the extension with the white fist seated inside, demonstrating how the internal mechanism slides outward to lengthen the arm while keeping the hand and forearm structure intact. The red-tipped shoulder launcher remains mounted above the arm, emphasizing how the articulation allows the arm to extend while still supporting the weapon assembly.

His blue helmet is shown up close, with the sculpted face featuring sharp silver paint across the cheeks and chin, dark recessed eyes, and a clean mouthplate. The chest area below the head shows a small red and silver emblem framed by interlocking blue and red armor segments, with the white neck joint of the Optimus head providing a smooth connection point between the head and torso.

C 10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 15o

Looking at the rear of Ultra Magnus, the white inner robot, which is the cab version of Optimus Prime, is clearly visible seated inside the larger armor frame. The white torso forms the central back panel while the red legs of the inner robot run straight down through the open structure of the Magnus armor, with chrome mechanical bars and hinges locking the legs into place along the back of the suit. The fit is very snug, with the inner robot’s waist and hip area sitting tightly inside the cavity while the Magnus shoulder assemblies and blue arm sections attach around the sides, effectively building the larger body around the smaller Optimus Prime figure. The white feet of the inner robot extend down toward the lower section of the armor frame, showing how the smaller robot becomes the internal core that supports the full Ultra Magnus body.

C 10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 16p

With the Ultra Magnus helmet removed, the white Optimus Prime inner robot head is fully visible at the top of the torso, showing the classic faceplate and blue eyes sitting flush within the white chest section. The larger Magnus armor remains assembled around the smaller robot, with the red chest panel folded over the front and the blue arm housings extending outward while the tall white shoulder towers rise behind them. Off to the side, the blue Ultra Magnus helmet piece rests separately on the surface, clearly showing how it normally fits over the inner robot head to complete the larger Ultra Magnus appearance.

C 10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 17q

Ultra Magnus appears in vehicle mode with the white cab truck connected to the large blue car carrier trailer. The trailer frame is open through the center with the red platform forming the long loading deck, while the tall blue side supports hold the white missile launchers mounted across the top. The twin cannons extend forward with red rocket tips, and the Autobot symbol is visible on the inner side panel of the trailer frame.

C-10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 21

The rear of the trailer is shown with the back section opened up, revealing the red interior transport platform where the inner robot normally sits during transformation. The two blue rear towers frame the opening and connect to the upper launcher assembly, while the white ramp sections with red and green panel detailing sit along the lower edge, showing the structure that supports the armor frame.

C-10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 22

Deerstalker appears in robot mode as a compact blue figure with black wheels positioned on the shoulders and lower legs. The small robot holds a long white blaster, with the chest and torso formed from the front of the buggy vehicle mode. The head sits low between the shoulder wheels, and the legs extend into wide blue feet that stabilize the small figure.

C-10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 23

In vehicle mode, Deerstalker transforms into a small blue buggy with four black wheels and a compact cockpit. A tiny silver driver figure sits inside the seat area, and a large white cannon mounts to the rear on a rotating post that rises above the vehicle body. The front slopes forward with molded mechanical panel lines along the sides.

C-10 Ultra Magnus Transformers Missing Link IH 24

Ultra Magnus is shown in vehicle mode with the white cab truck attached to the large blue car carrier trailer, while Deerstalker rides on top of the extended upper launcher platform. The small blue buggy sits between the two launcher towers with its black wheels resting along the white support rails, and the large white cannon mounted behind the cockpit. The twin missile launchers with red rocket tips extend forward at the front of the raised platform, showing how the upper structure can carry Deerstalker while the red transport deck and blue trailer frame form the base of the carrier. And honestly, seeing Deerstalker perched up there like that really drives home how much play this setup brings to the table. You can already imagine loading it up, rolling Ultra Magnus across the battlefield, and then launching Deerstalker into the action from the top of the carrier. For fans of the original toy and the Missing Link line, this sort of detail makes the whole set come alive and instantly bought me back to why I love the G1 Transformers in the first place!
