Wave 5 200x MOTU Origins Card Back Art and In-Package Images

We’ve got an exclusive early look at the Wave 5 200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection figures thanks to Mr. Home Arcade, who has shared the card back art and in-package images of Keldor, Buzz-Off, and Webstor ahead of his full in-hand coverage coming next week. We’ve been tracking this wave closely ever since the first details surfaced, and seeing these figures packaged up with their finished card art is exactly the kind of preview that gets me fired up as a collector because it bridges that gap between official product shots and what you’re actually going to be holding in your hands. And honestly, all three figures look noticeably better here than they did in the earlier official images, which is something I’ve noticed tends to happen with this line where the in-package presentation and final production deco just hit differently compared to the initial reveals. Keldor in particular pops against that card art, and Buzz-Off and Webstor both carry a level of presence on the card that makes them feel like they belong right alongside the strongest entries in the 200x Cartoon Collection so far. What I love about getting these kinds of previews is that it gives us a much clearer picture of how these figures will actually look when they arrive on our doorsteps, and with Mr. Home Arcade having the figures en route right now, we should be getting full in-hand images soon that will really let us dig into the sculpt, paint, and accessory details up close. If you’re still on the fence or haven’t locked in your preorder yet, you can check out all the ordering details in our Wave 5 preorder update, but for now feast your eyes on these card back art shots and in-package looks and stay tuned because the in-hand coverage is right around the corner.

The card art features a fiery, castle-themed backdrop with stone columns framing Buzz-Off. Through the blister, his yellow and brown body sculpt reads well, though the face has a slightly off quality to it, something about the proportions just doesn’t quite land. His wings are tucked behind him inside the bubble, and the rest of the body sculpt looks solid with clean segmented armor detail across the torso and belt area.

Buzz-Off dominates the center of the scene as he dives into battle with his staff raised overhead, his translucent wings stretched wide while debris and shattered wood fly around him. The artwork captures the chaos of the attack on Viridas, with the bee warrior charging recklessly ahead after spotting Azdar among the invading giants. Around him, the village is under siege. Azdar looms in the background with his hammer while the other giants advance through collapsing structures and broken barricades. Orko hovers near the destruction with glowing magic effects around his hands, and smaller villagers scatter as buildings crumble apart. He-Man stands below in the middle of the battlefield preparing to join the fight while Man-At-Arms appears nearby firing his arm cannon toward the invading giants. Ram Man is also shielding some Eternians from certain doom!

Keldor has two Power Swords packed on either side of him in the blister, and honestly, they did an amazing job translating his animated appearance into figure form. The purple and black armor with the bat-shaped belt buckle and gem-centered chest piece all look faithful to the 200x design.

Keldor 200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Card Front

The card art depicts a classic scene from “The Beginning” episode, with King Randor and Keldor squaring off amid crumbling ruins. Stratos flies in above Randor while Beast Man rides his Griffin overhead behind Keldor, really rounding out the scene nicely.

Webstor is packed with a wide crouched stance that really fills the blister, giving a good look at his bulky Filmation-inspired proportions. The figure uses a deep blue and purple color palette with a textured body sculpt covered in rounded bumps across the shoulders, arms, and legs. His head sculpt features narrow red eyes, long white fangs, pointed ears, and shaggy light blue hair flowing off the back of the head. Red wrist cuffs and a matching red belt break up the darker tones, while the black loincloth hangs low in layered strips. I like how the figure keeps his animated look while still adding enough sculpted texture to keep him from feeling too plain in the package.

The Webstor 200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection cardback art is a seriously cool homage to the “Web of Evil” episode, with Webstor front and center surrounded by his spider minions while Buzz-Off and Stratos hang cocooned in webbing behind him. He-Man is up in the corner with his sword drawn, ready to cut them free, and the whole scene has a great sense of menace with Webstor’s fanged, red-eyed face dominating the composition.
