200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Wave 1 Official Carded Reveal

When I think back to when we first uncovered the early signs that a MOTU 200x Origins line was coming, it felt like one of those collector moments where you just knew something big was on the horizon, and sure enough, the official reveal at San Diego Comic Con 2025 confirmed it in an absolutely thrilling way. Fast forward to now, and we are seeing the payoff in full force as Roy Juarez has revealed the first wave of carded figures of Stratos, He-Man, and Tri-Klops, giving us that incredible mix of nostalgia and fresh energy with a strong 200x vibe. What really grabs me is the new card back design, which leans heavily into that distinct 200x influence with bold styling and an updated aesthetic that still feels perfectly aligned with Origins packaging collectors have come to love. It’s wild seeing these figures finally carded, knowing where this journey started, and the new presentation makes them look even better hanging side by side. This moment brings the whole 200x Origins story full circle, from rumor to reveal to reality, and I couldn’t be more excited to see where Mattel takes this sub-line next. We have strung together the 3 separate reveal 360 videos into one for your viewing pleasure!

200x Card Back Design

Castle Grayskull bursts to life in this card art design with its stone green walls and blazing orange glow pouring from the jawbridge. The towering skull façade is chained at both sides, with heavy shadows giving the fortress an ominous presence. Blue energy beams shoot upward behind the Masters of the Universe logo, tying in that bold 200x influence. The artwork zooms in closer on the skull, highlighting the deep red eye sockets and cracked stone texture, while bold text teases “In-Depth Packaging & Artwork Coming Soon,” promising a closer look at the new Origins 200x card back style the Roy and team always deliver!

He-Man

He-Man comes packed on the new 200x inspired card front with the glowing Castle Grayskull background framing the bubble, giving us our first look at how the figure is presented in package. The vibrant artwork shows He-Man raising his Power Sword with the Sorceress (Veena), Orko, and Battle Cat featured alongside, tying into “The Beginning” episode callout and showcasing the updated card back style for the line.

This image of He-Man from the MOTU Origins 200x Cartoon Collection brings the hero’s animated redesign into sharp focus. His muscular build is accentuated by the stylized armor and angular lines that defined the 200x series, with a cross-emblazoned chest harness, matching belt, and bracers that echo the show’s aesthetic. The sculpt captures his heroic posture perfectly, with He-Man raising the intricately detailed 200x-style Power Sword aloft in his iconic transformation pose. His tousled hair and determined facial expression stay true to his younger, more energized cartoon portrayal, making this figure a bold and dynamic update to the most powerful man in the universe.

Stratos

Stratos is also packed on the new 200x style card front with the blazing Castle Grayskull background behind him. The back of the card showcases dramatic artwork of the winged warrior soaring into battle during “Sky War,” with aerial combat filling the skies and Castle Grayskull looming in the distance. We can see Delora, Skeletor and Buzz-Off making a cameo in the scene.

This image of Stratos from the MOTU Origins 200x Cartoon Collection highlights his wild and feral redesign from the animated series. His sculpt captures the more primal, muscular look of the 200x era, complete with exaggerated proportions, talon-like feet, and textured fur detail on his upper body. His signature red and blue color scheme is intact, with stylized goggles, feathered wing attachments, and dual wrist-mounted weapons that reflect the show’s tech-meets-savagery vibe. The blue loincloth, red harness, and bold wing shapes all contribute to a figure that feels dynamic and airborne even while standing still—a faithful homage to his cartoon appearance.

These close-up shots of the 200x Stratos figure from the MOTU Origins line highlight the unique joystick-style flight controls that are integrated into each of his hands. The blue grips feature sculpted control details and connect to the dark brown feathered wing extensions, giving the impression that Stratos manually pilots his own flight path using these handles—just like in the 2002 animated series. The red forearm cuffs help frame the mechanism and visually anchor the tech-forward design.

Tri-Klops

Tri-Klops comes packed on the card with his sword positioned right alongside him in the bubble. The back of the card features striking artwork from the epsiode “Roboto’s Gambit,” showing him standing confidently with his sword raised as Sy-Klone and He-man loom in the distance and as they fend off an army of warriors.

This image of Tri-Klops from the MOTU Origins 200x Cartoon Collection highlights the character’s sharper, more armored look from the animated series. His rotating visor is bulkier and more high-tech in appearance, capturing the show’s futuristic aesthetic, while his green and gold armor is sculpted with more pronounced lines and layered plating. The asymmetrical chest design and black segmented skirt reflect his 200x style perfectly, giving him a tactical, battle-ready stance. Equipped with a dark green sword and enhanced shoulder armor, this version of Tri-Klops leans heavily into the show’s reimagined villainous tone while staying rooted in classic MOTU lore.
