Masterverse Moss Man

Moss Man in his natural environment with creeping vines stretching out around him as if he’s summoning the forest to fight by his side. His mace lies embedded in the dirt, adding a sense of weight and impact to the scene, making it look like he’s just slammed it down with force before preparing to strike again.

Chronicles King Grayskull

Armed with his sword and shield, King Grayskull’s soft goods cape catches real movement here, with the tattered crimson fabric flaring out behind him. The interior of the shield shows a molded grip and handle system that his fist wraps around cleanly. King Grayskull’s chest armor features a hexagonal crest with a red and gold cross motif at the center, flanked by metallic silver shoulder guards with gold medallion accents and white fur trim that has a nice textured sculpt. His gold belt is decorated with round embossed studs, and the fur loincloth below it has individually sculpted strands that give it a coarse, heavy look.

MOTU Origins Gray

All rise for a royal debut! Gray, the son of King Grayskull and Queen Veena, is making his first appearance in the Masters of the Universe Origins line. Of course, as many fans know, Gray, is destined to become He-Ro, the Most Powerful Wizard in the Universe. For now, though, the scion of the family is clothed in a tunic and equipped with a Preternian spear and a removable Spirit of Grayskull on his shoulders. An included He-Ro staff hints at the magic and strength to come. 

MOTU Origins Movie Beast Man

Covered in sculpted fur detailing from head to toe, Beast Man’s brown knee guards feature pale teardrop-shaped studs that mirror the spiked armor on his shoulders. Beast Man holds his whip accessory, with the sculpted fur texture covering his legs and arms contrasting nicely against the brown spiked armor on his shins and shoulders. The soft goods fur collar in a burnt orange tone adds a welcome layer of depth to the figure, and that open-mouthed head sculpt with the fangs and purple-rimmed eyes is really solid. His dark brown leather-look loincloth hangs in layered strips from the gold-trimmed belt, and I like how the braided cord running from the medallion across his chest adds a little extra visual texture to the overall look.

MOTU Origins Laser Power He-Man

Laser Power He-Man is finally getting the Origins treatment at $27.99, and if you know the history of this figure, you know why that’s such a big deal. The original was a European exclusive back in the late 80s and has been one of the most sought-after vintage MOTU figures for decades. This new version comes with a light-up power sword, backpack with harness, shoulder armor, and a mini comic. I love how Mattel keeps honoring these rare corners of the vintage line.

MOTU Origins Dragstor

The cybernetic speed demon Dragstor is zooming into the Origins collection. Formerly a royal athlete known as Theydon, Dragstor was brainwashed and turned into an evil warrior by Hordak. With a wheel in his belly and malice in his heart, this working Dragstor action figure can race across the ground with the pull of a cord. Enemies of The Evil Horde beware! Dragstor rolls in at $27.99 as a deluxe release with a working ripcord mechanism that actually sends him zooming across flat surfaces, plus a crossbow and blast effects. I always loved Dragstor as a kid and seeing that ripcord feature preserved in Origins form is super exciting.

MOTU Origins Blast Attak

And then there’s Blast-Attak at $21.99 with his self-destruct splitting mechanism and detonator pump trigger, which is just so much fun as a play feature carried over from the vintage days. The figure looks straight out of the vintage line, with the familiar gold chest armor packed with sculpted tech details, gray mechanical limbs, green boots and gloves, and that classic masked head sculpt staring forward as if he’s ready to trigger the feature. I like how the action feature is fully intact here, with the removable detonator unit and tubing that connects back to the body, letting you recreate that explosive play pattern just like before. The red techno style halberd sits alongside him, all sharp angles and peg details, and it feels ready to be swung into action the moment he’s posed.

MOTU Origins Stonedar

The Comet Warrior, Stonedar, the leader of the Rock People, is here at $21.99 with all 11 armor pieces intact so you can fold him into his rocky comet form just like the original. How cool is that?! Just as we saw with Rokkon, this Comet Warrior has a greyish and blue rock exterior and blue humanoid body on the inside of his rocky exterior camouflage. Stonedar features gold, blue and red accents on his robotic like humanoid body and has a serene look on his face. Stonedar includes his handheld light blazer blaster that also plugs in to the body as a radar antenna!

MOTU Origins Expand-Or

Clad in deep purple armor with gold plating across the shoulders, knees, and boots, Expand-Or has a color scheme that really pops, with bright red accents running through the forearms, shins, and belt tying the whole look together. The dragon-head spear features a translucent red fire-burst sleeve over a textured gray shaft, and I think it’s cool that the flame effect has that slightly molten, organic shape to it.

MOTU Origins Hurricane Hordak

Hurricane Hordak, the ruthless first variant interpretation of this hostile Horde leader, swirls into the Origins line. Pulling his design from the figure first released in 1986. Staying true to his original look, he sports shiny VUM golden armor and wields a robot cannon arm with multiple threatening attachments. Etheria, be warned: this alternate reality version is even more powerful and dangerous than the villain She-Ra has fought before.

MOTU Origins Despara

Despara was born as Princess Adora, the alter ego of She-Ra and the twin sister of He-Man, who helped her discover her true identity.  Despara is one of the most compelling and complex characters to emerge from the Masters of the Universe mythos. First introduced in the DC Comics continuity, Despara is the dark alter ego of Princess Adora, brainwashed and raised by Hordak to become a ruthless Force Captain of the Evil Horde. Long before she reclaimed her identity as She-Ra, Despara was feared across the galaxy, clad in imposing black armor and carrying out Hordak’s will with chilling precision.

MOTU Origins Vultak

Introduced in 1985 as Hordak’s cowardly zookeeper, Vultak is the bumbling fool who sneers with a classic cartoon look, and features detachable wings and taloned feet that enable him to patrol Etheria’s skies and capture the innocent creatures of the Forest of Freedom. Vultak appearance is a beady eyed, lavender skinned winged member of the Horde. His face sculpt is right out of the She-Ra and the Princess of Power Filmation series.

MOTU Origins Sting-Or

Sting-Or is a really interesting one at $27.99. He’s the first male scorpion character in the MOTU lineup, coming with a posable scorpion tail, alternate claw hand, alternate fist, and shield. A brand new addition to the mythology and I can’t wait to see how collectors display him.
