Huge thanks to @just_bsing on Instagram for posting these images! “You’ve got me?! Who’s got you?!” Boy are we thrilled to see this one finally surface. McFarlane Toys has a Clark Kent 1978 Elite Edition figure on the way, inspired by the legendary Superman The Movie, and I cannot be more excited. Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of the bumbling, lovable Clark Kent is one of the most iconic performances in superhero film history, and seeing that classic look captured in figure form is just super exciting. We don’t have an official release date yet, but as @just_bsing noted, for obvious reasons it should be very soon. I always loved the duality Reeve brought to the role, how he could shift from mild-mannered reporter to the Man of Steel with just a change in posture and presence, and this figure looks like it really leans into that Clark Kent charm. No word yet on accessories or full details, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled. So let’s take a look at the McFarlane Superman The Movie Clark Kent Edition!

Huge thanks to @just_bsing for posting additional in hand images by @mcfarlane_toys_official Elite Clark Kent in full attire! Wrapped in a cream-colored trench coat with a belted waist and visible stitching along the edges, Clark Kent looks every bit the Daily Planet reporter, with a dark fedora, round glasses, and a light blue dress shirt peeking out beneath a dark tie. The brown leather briefcase with its sculpted buckle closures is a great touch, and I like how the layering of the coat over the suit and dark trousers gives him a real sense of depth and texture you don’t always get at this scale.

You can see how the open hand has some really nice sculpted detail in the fingers and palm, with natural creasing that sells the gesture. The dark vest underneath the coat has a subtle sheen that contrasts well against the matte finish of the trench coat fabric.

Here’s a closer look at the shoes, which have a nice sculpted sole edge and a slight gloss that reads as polished leather, paired with charcoal trousers that drape naturally over them. The trench coat’s loose belt and dangling strap add a casual, lived-in quality that keeps Clark from looking too stiff or posed.

Something I appreciate here is the head sculpt, which captures a mild, understated expression that just feels right for Clark. The oversized glasses sit naturally on his face with translucent lenses, and the fedora has a nice pinched crown with a slightly upturned brim that adds a classic 1940s reporter vibe.

The packaging presents a great Daily Planet press badge as the card art centerpiece, complete with a photo of Clark in his bespectacled reporter look. You can see how the tray is loaded with accessories, including an alternate head sculpt, multiple swap-out hands, and what appears to be a pair of glasses.

The white box uses a clean, minimal design with the classic Superman: The Movie logo rendered in metallic silver and gold at the bottom. A large window panel gives you a full look at Clark Kent in his open-suit reveal pose, with the Daily Planet press badge art adding a nice thematic touch to the presentation.

The box art features a gorgeous close-up photograph of Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent, capturing his signature wide-eyed, slightly bewildered expression behind those oversized round glasses. I like how the dark suit and striped tie in the photo complement the packaging’s sleek black framing, tying the whole presentation together.

Clark Kent comes packed with a generous spread of accessories, and here’s where you really get a sense of what this set offers through the tray. The Daily Planet press badge insert is a fun design element that doubles as both packaging art and a nod to Clark’s day job, with the oversized “PRESS” lettering and photo ID giving it an almost prop-replica feel.

Here’s a closer look at the Clark Kent head sculpt, and the Christopher Reeve likeness is genuinely impressive, from the strong jawline to the neatly swept-back dark hair and those piercing blue eyes. The open suit jacket and white dress shirt pull apart to reveal the iconic S-shield underneath in bold blue, red, and yellow, with the sculpted folds in the fabric selling that mid-transformation moment beautifully.

The front of the box leans heavily into the 1978 film’s iconic imagery, with a sweeping shot of Christopher Reeve in full Superman glory soaring against a glowing cityscape, while the side panel features his Clark Kent portrait in suit and glasses. I like the way the deep purple and blue tones of the nighttime Metropolis skyline wrap around the box, giving the whole package a cinematic quality that feels true to the film.
