Classic Technodrome TMNT Amazon Exclusive Box and In-Hand Images
Huge shoutout to our good friend, Bethany Beth, that there are boxed and in-hand images of the Classic Technodrome TMNT Amazon Exclusive playset. This playset was discovered on Amazon without any official images and this totally tubular playset is on Amazon and went up for preorder out of the blue back on June 7, 2024. Since then, official images have been added and now we have the box design and some in-hand images of the actual playset to share. Keep a vigilant eye for when the Technodrome comes back in stock on Amazon as you will not want to miss out on this classic playset! For now, enjoy the box and in-hand images of the Technodrome to tide you over until this playset arrives to your collection!
July 1st: In Hand Images
Today we got to see some actual in hand images by a Ethan The TMNT Broker (@2ndtimearoundtoysandcomics), and the playset looks incredible! Ethan was very observant to point out that this reissue set is a little smaller than the original, but I think that is something we previously noted. Ethan was lucky enough to obtain an early sample, so let’s take a closer look!

It’s July 1st! I want to thank the good folks over @playmatestoysinc for sending me an early sample of the Classic Technodrome! This thing is awesome and definitely not like its predecessor, so many “little” differences like the whole base is the color blue. The box and playset are about 2” smaller than the original. The spring loaded brain scrambler now has and actual belt instead of a rubber band that will just rot in time. The trap door has a nice little handle so you don’t have to struggle getting it back up and the jail cell walls snap in place unlike the og. Very cool if you’re collecting the retro line as only the retro Krang fits inside not the vintage, so I don’t think this will hurt the value of the original at all. As you can see the new Technodrome is smaller than the original, as shown in this photo. The new reissue is on the bottom and vintage on top. This is a wonderful comparison as you can see also see the new artwork and what a spectacular homage to the vintage box it is! It looks like the reissue box is about 2″ smaller than the original.
Here we can see the two versions of the Technodrome, reissue on the left and vintage on the right. The reissue is alittle smaller and has an all blue base, where the vintage one is larger and has some grey components to the base at the front of the playset. But all in all, Playmates has done an amazing job at recreating this playset! Ethan pointed out some improvements, like the spring loaded brain scrambler now has and actual belt instead of a rubber band!
Here we can see the new reissue eye on the left, which looks to be about 10-15% smaller than original vintage on the right. We also get a look at some more close ups of the set!

June 29, 2024: Official Box Images
Amazon made some more updates to their official images for the Classic Technodrome TMNT Exclusive! They recently added some hi-rez box images and the there is so much nostalgia spewing!
The side of the box just has the same information and photo of the real playset. On the front of the box, it says:

- Turtle Mutation Chamber
Technodrome Box Images
The box really pays homage to the vintage Technodrome but without the cute smiling kid on the front but you lose aspect of scale with way! The only thing missing from the updated box is the cross sell of other TMNT vehicles.
On the left and right side of the box, there are other images of the Techodrome.

In-Hand Images
We also have some in-hand images to share that show off the details and parts of the this amazing piece of TMNT history! Whether the playset is opened or closed, it really hits that nostalgia button and it looks freakin amazing!
There are multiple ways to display the playset, give you a ton of options so if you are a collector that likes to display it open, closed, one side open, front, or back, there is a view that would suit everyone!
Here, we can get a view of what the inside looks like with all of the parts assembled. The honkin’ eyeball looks so classic as it is perched as the watchful eye of Krang!
Assembly is required but the construction and there are lots of parts and this is where the fun begins! There is also a sticker sheet where you can apply all of the details to the Technodrome. A good idea to apply the stickers before putting it together.
Here is a close up of a part of the sticker sheet and the decals are vibrant in color and should not take very long to place!
Here is an image of what the Technodrome base looks like, where the jail and center roof subassembly port into.
There are also some close up images of the center roof and how that attaches to the jail assembly!
Here are some of the parts of the jail assemble and the pieces are nice and flexible so you wont have to worry about breaking them during construction.
Below is an image of both halves of the Technodrome! You can see the cool sculpted details and how some of the stickers are applied to the outside.
Here is a shot of the connection bridge, the handrail podium, the mutant manacles, and the brain scrambler. The fully assembled bridge connects on the inside to both halves of the Techodrome.
A Turtle can be secured to the brain scrambler by a strap and you can wind it up and release it and he will spin around scrambling his brain, hence why they call it the brain scrambler!

The Technodrome is a classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles playset that come out out in 1990 and will cost you quite a bit of coin on the eBay market for a vintage TMNT Techo Drome! In 1990, Playmates released the biggest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle playset of the action figure line, which is now considered a true toy classic so it’s amazing to see that they are giving collector’s what they want (and need) with a reissue of a classic Techodrome. Well we finally have gotten official images of the Amazon exclusive Technodrome and it is glorious!! Yes this is real, it is not a drill!

The Technodrome was massive in the TMNT cartoon! According to Turtlepedia, “In the 1987 TV series, the Technodrome served as the Foot Clan’s base. Although a large skyscraper was seen at the beginning of the series as a corporate headquarters for the Foot, it was revealed that underground passages lead from it directly to the Technodrome. It was a base of the Shredder and Krang and served as transportation and a battle fortress.
