Below we have the photos that Cob_Web_Collector sent us of Cartoon Collection Evil Lyn and Webstor. We can see both of them on their Cartoon Collection carbacks with that beautiful Filmation inspired Castle Grayskull background!

These two new Cartoon Collection figures look amazing and Filmation accurate. I love how their accessories are right from specific Filmation Cartoon Episodes. Webstor includes the Grimalkin Statue from the Cat and the Spider episode. And Evil Lyn comes with the Shaping Staff from the “Shaping Staff” Filmation episode. More about these Filmation episodes below.

Here we get to see the new Cartoon Collection Evil Lyn looking Filmation accurate! Seeing the new Cartoon Collection Evil Lyn next to the version 1 MOTU Origins Evil Lyn, you can see how the Cartoon Collection one is actually at look less yellow skinned than previously thought, which is a welcome surprise!

Here we can see Cartoon Collection Evil Lyn next to Cartoon Collection Teela, and they look amazing next to each other. You can see how their torsos are similar but actually different sculpts.

Here we get to see Webstor with his orange grappling hook and his Grimalkin Statue from the Cat and the Spider Filmation episode.

Cob_Web_Collector also sent us a great comparison shot of both the Cartoon Collection version on the right and MOTU Origins original version of Webstor on the left. The figures look very similar to each other but the Cartoon Collection version has the newer buck with the taller legs, a more simplistic belt and a new Filmation inspired face sculpt. The Cartoon Collection version also has an orange grappling hook, rather than purple, and much more simplified looking boots.

Evil-Lyn looks like she is pulled right out of the Filmation cartoon as her outfit is painted in deep and light purples! She also comes with the Shaping Staff as her pack-in!

Webstor Official Images

Dubbed The Evil Master of Escape, Webstor was only featured in a handful of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Filmation episodes and he also made a cameo, with Kobra Khan, in the She-Ra and the Princess of Power. As Mattel was introducing more figures to the line via the cartoon, the episode that featured Webstor aired close to his toy release in the 1980’s. Many of the beloved characters, like Moss Man and others, have only appeared in a handful of episodes, it made narrowing down the show Mattel might pull from to pay homage to easier as he was prominently featured as a main villain! Let’s get to know Webstor or, as Skeletor affectionately calls him, bug face! And the accessory we guessed, was correct! He comes packed with the cat artifact from the ” The Cat and Spider Filmation Episode”!

Card Art Teases

With every new character we get, we get some incredible card art, and Evil Lyn and Webstor’s card back art are no exception. These two figures bring us some very cool new card art teases, so let’s take a look.

Evil-Lyn Cartoon Collection Card Art Teases King Randor & Orko

We’ve been biding our time for when we’d get to see her card back to see who the next figures that might be coming to the Cartoon Collection and now we get to see King Randor and Orko being teased on the back of Evil-Lyn’s card back art!

King Randor Tease

The art on the back of Evil-Lyn’s card shows her using the shaping staff to mask Beast Man’s appearance as he transforms from King Randor. How freaky would that be to wake up staring at a person that looks just like you! The interesting aspect about this art is that they illustrate Evil-Lyn with her cape, which is conspicuously missing from her figure.

King Randor Cartoon Collection Concept

Eternal Customs provides a cool way to visualize what a King Randor Cartoon Collection figure could like with his digital renders.

King Randor MOTU Origins

This version of King Randor is a complete homage to the 1980’s version, with his red and gold shinny armor, gold arm bracers, crown, orange pants, and blue boots. Where Mattel diverged from the Vintage was that they decided to go with a plastic cape, rather than the soft goods cape of the original.

From the rear image, you can tell the cape looks similar to that of the Origins Scare Glow and Keldor. King Randor may look like the Burger King, but I think he looks absolutely amazing.

Orko Tease

Orko is a “Trollan”, a race of beings from the extradimensional world of Trolla. Like all Trollans, Orko appears to be a diminutive blue humanoid, capable of floating in midair, whose appearance is almost completely hidden beneath a robe, hat, and scarf. Little more than Orko’s hands, ears, and eyes are ever seen by the audience, as Trollan custom only rarely permits the revelation of one’s face. Orko’s face was designed in production drawings but never appeared in the series; when his clothing is removed, he is always obscured.

Webstor Cartoon Collection Card Art Teases Kittrina

We speculated correctly that the pack-in for Webstor would be coming from ‘The Cat and the Spider’ Masters of the Universe Filmation episode. What was also cool about that the episode was that it also featured Kittrina, which we are hoping she makes it into the line!

Kittrina is noted as being a member of the mysterious Cat Folk of Eternia and a trusted agent of their leader King Paw.

The MOTU Classics figure nailed her Filmation look and we are so excited that she is potentially coming to the Cartoon Collection.

Evil-Lyn Filmation’s Appearance

The only female member of the Evil Warriors, she is an evil witch who aids Skeletor as his second-in-command with her powers of darkness. Her Filmation appearance colors were dark purple with blue accents. Her helmet is colored in black to match her cape and there are purple and blue tie-ins that match her outfit.

Shaping Staff

Paying homage to an ancient and powerful tool that Evil-Lyn and Beast Man found, she comes with the Shaping Staff! According to the Wiki Grayskull, “An ancient and powerful magical tool, the Staff was first discovered by Evil-Lyn and Beast Man within a cave in the Crystal Sea. Disguised as a traveling sorceress named Majestra, the pair of villains made their way into the Royal Palace, where the Staff was put to good use transforming Beast Man into a copy of King Randor, as well as the real king into a goat and Orko into a cricket. The Staff proved efficacious even against He-Man and his allies, turning Teela into a frog and He-Man himself into a golden statue. Skeletor and Evil-Lyn next assaulted Castle Grayskull, where the Staff turned the Sorceress partway into a defenseless tree. With the telepathic assistance of He-Man, however, the Sorceress used her own magic to overcome the Staff’s spell and free the hero. In the resulting battle, He-Man sliced the Staff in half, freeing all those it had changed. Evil-Lyn attempted to use the remaining half of the Staff, but all this accomplished was to turn her into a bizarre snake-like creature.”

Get ready for the Evil Warrior Goddess to grace the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection. Described by Skeletor as his “right hand of evil,” Evil-Lyn is both his greatest ally and worst enemy. According to an anonymous source, Evil-Lyn will be coming to the Cartoon Collection in 2024 and we will likely see her revealed during MOTU March Madness 2024. If you recall, last year during mid-March, the MOTU team dropped a ton of figures we saw in 2023. While a source as revealed that she is coming to the line, we are speculating as to what episode they will be payong homage to and what Filmation accessory she’ll be packed with. Also, given that the Cartoon Collection is pairing a Heroic Warrior with an Evil Warrior in each wave, only time will tell which figure Evil-Lyn will be paired with.

The Cat and Spider Filmation Episode

Lucky for us, Webstor was only featured in one He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Filmation episode called The Cat and The Spider. According to the Wiki Grayskull, “During an archaeology expedition, Prince Adam and Melaktha discover the Temple of the Cat, confirming stories of an ancient race of “Cat Folk” on Eternia. However, there is no information about what became of the Cat Folk, and so Melaktha and Adam hope to learn more by studying the temple. Little do they realize they are being watched by one of the Cat Folk, who are not as extinct as they suspect.

As the pair explore the ruins, Melaktha is impressed by the Cat Folk’s artistic ability. He is so enthralled by the stone carvings that he walks right into a trap door, and knocked out in the fall. When Adam sees that Melaktha has fallen into a chamber where the walls are closing in, he wastes no time in becoming He-Man to rescue the royal archaeologist.

When Melaktha comes around, he is outside the temple with He-Man, who offers to finish exploring the temple in his place. With his superhuman strength, He-Man has little difficulty defeating the traps throughout the temple. He finds an altar with the Grimalkin statue atop it. After defeating a monster guarding the altar, He-Man retrieves the statue and, as Adam, takes it back to Melaktha, who decides to study it at the Royal Palace.

The feline spy witnesses this, and returns to his kingdom to report to King Paw. Upon learning of the theft of the Grimalkin, King Paw angrily summons Kittrina, his most effective (if least reverent) agent, to retrieve the statue. Back at the palace, Melaktha and Adam show off the statue to Orko, Teela, and Cringer. Melaktha speculates that the artifact might well possess some evil power. This gains the attention of Skeletor, who observes the activity from Snake Mountain. Deciding that any evil power should be his, he summons Webstor to steal the Grimalkin for himself.

The-Cat-and-The-Spider-He-Man-and-the-Masters-of-the-Universe-Filmation-Episode-5

That night at the palace, Kittrina easily breaks in to recover the statue, but finds herself evenly matched when Teela answers the alarms. Webstor takes advantage of the struggle to take the statue for himself. Adam and Cringer wake up and become He-Man and Battle Cat, but are too late to stop Webstor from stealing a Wind Raider to make his escape. He-Man whistles for the Talon Fighter so that they can pursue him.

The-Cat-and-The-Spider-He-Man-and-the-Masters-of-the-Universe-Filmation-Episode-7

Meanwhile, Kittrina explains her own intrusion to King Randor, Queen Marlena, Orko, and Teela. She explains that she was not stealing the Grimalkin because it already belonged to her people. According to Kittrina, the statue contains a demon that could spell doom for everyone, and Melaktha vouches for her story after doing some research. After communicating with He-Man, Teela and Kittrina decide to go to Snake Mountain themselves.

Before Skeletor can determine how to use the statue for evil purposes, He-Man and Battle Cat arrive to take it from him. Skeletor manages to trap Battle Cat and, with help from Webstor, subdues He-Man. The villains detect Teela and Kittrina approaching in a Wind Raider, and shoot it out of the sky. Teela is stunned in the crash, and so Kittrina has to continue on without her. However, Battle Cat frees himself from his trap and joins up with Kittrina.”

Webstor Accessory Speculation

A cool accessory Webstor could come with would be the Grimalkin statue that is featured in the episode.
