June 28, 2023: Firefly, Crimson Viper, and Nunchuck Officially Revealed & Preorders plus Transformers X GI Joe Collaborative Thunder Machine Soundwave
The last and final week of Yo Joe June rounds off with another hat trick with 3 new figures up for preorder today! Emily and Lenny revealed a classic version of Firefly, Crimson Viper, and the Nunchuck! But perhaps the biggest news of the day was the official reveal of the Transformers X GI Joe Collaborative Thunder Machine Soundwave!

Nunchuck
The first reveal of the day was none other than Nunchuck. He comes with ninja claws. They grip into his hands, and fit in all the figures hands. Shealth into two holsters in the back. He comes with dual swords. He has shoulder armor and more detailed shoulder straps than the vintage version for some added visual detail.
Nunchuck will be available for preorder today at 10am PST, 1pm EST on Fan Channels, Amazon and Hasbro Pulse.
Vintage Nunchuck
Nunchuck was released carded as part of the eleventh series in 1992 as part of the Ninja Force subline. He came with a black sword, black nunchuks, and a black figure stand.
Nunchuck was also released in the GI Joe Collectors Club! According to JoeBattleLines.com, “G.I. Joe is a line that has traditionally adapted to the times and 1992 was no exception. “Ninja mania” had swept the nation and the line was facing competition in the toy aisles from the likes of Playmates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that debuted five years earlier. In addition, Bandai was just under a year away from launching its new Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers line that would take the world by storm. Always vigilant toward emerging threats, the team in Pawtucket responded with the creation of a brand new sub-team—the G.I. Joe Ninja Force! Firefly Version 2
Firefly has incredible new camo deco. He comes with a rifle with a silencer that comes off. He also comes with his night vision googles that do also come off. Firefly also includes a remove detonator that connects to his explosive remove control car, and the RC Car can be stowed on his backpack as well. He also includes some mines, which will store on the backpack as well.
Since the start of the line, we are finally getting an updated more classic looking Firefly. You will see some familiar accessories, like his gun, but some more updated accessories like his backpack and his remote-control car. And in an homage to the vintage figure, he has a removable knife on wrist!

Firefly Digital Render Reveal
We already have Firefly for the GI Joe Classified Series, but something about him just never sat right with all the collectors. He really wasn’t the classic Firefly we were all waiting for. Somehow, he was too stylized with that huge chest armor and just never looked right. Well, now is Hasbro’s second chance to do Firefly right!
Crimson Viper
The Crimson Viper comes with goggles, rifle with removable mags, his pistol, his backpack. This is a crimson colored version of the Viper we all know and love. So now you have yet another Viper style you can army build! Same color as the Crimson Guards.
The Crimson Viper will be available for preorder today at 10am PST, 1pm EST on Mainline Retailers and Hasbro Pulse.
The Cobra Crimson ranks are growing, and now our Crimson Twins and Crimson guards will have a army of troops to command with the new Crimson Viper! This version of the Viper is a Crimson inspired repaint of the same Viper figure we got previously released now for the 3rd of 4th time in the line. He comes with his googles, neck scarf, backpack, pistol and sub machine gun. He joins the original Viper, Vipers for the 3 pack, and the Python Patrol Viper as yet another cool Viper in the rants! I guess you can never have enough Vipers in your Cobra army!
Crimson Guard Digital Render Reveal
Vintage Crimson Viper
The original O-Ring Crimson Viper came out in 2002, as part of the Crimson Strike Team for the convention, as part of Joe Con. The Crimson Viper was part of the “Legacy of Valor” and came included with a Crimson Strike Team boxed set that included a Crimson Baroness, Crimson Tomax, Crimson Xamot, and twelve Vipers.
Transformers X GI Joe Collaborative Thunder Machine Soundwave
Keeping in the same tradition of the previous GI Joe Transformer Crossovers; HISS Tank and Awe Striker, the new Transformers X GI Joe Collaborative Thunder Machine Soundwave comes in the same type of packaging. With incredible artwork of Soundwave on one side, and the Thundermachine with Zarana and Zartan on the over side, this new collaborative set is incredible! The fact that this set comes with a vintage inspired O-Ring Zarana and Zartan is so freakin amazing! Finding a complete and intact vintage O-ring Zaratan alone is very hard to do, so getting a fresh brand new one is fantastic news for ARAH collectors! And this fresh on the heals of rumors that the O-Ring line is on hold, it’s great to see that at least this way we can get a vintage style vehicle and 2 O-Ring figures!The Transformer is Soundwave and transforms into none other than the Dreadknocks Thunder Machine! The cannon on the Thunder Machine was clearly the obvious choice for Soundwave’s shoulder cannon. And you can’t have Soundwave without a cassette, so he comes with a transforming cassette Ravage the dog. The Transformer Collaborative Soundwave and the Thunder Machine will be available for preorder today at 10am PST, 1pm EST on Fan Channels, Amazon and Hasbro Pulse.
Although Lenny and Emily did not have a physical sample of the Transformer Soundwave, they did have early prototypes of the o-rings with them. Zarana and Zartan looked incredible! It’s so exciting to get fresh new O-Ring versions of these vintage figures! In a nice homage to her vintage artwork , on Zarana, they removed the armor from her shoulders because on the original artwork she did not have armor. Zarana even includes the seahorse dragon tattoo she had in the artwork. The faces are a bit cleaner than the vintage originals. Zartan looks like his vintage counterpart, but on this version does not color change. They did hint that perhaps, he could be reused for the future. So could this mean we might be getting a Zartan with a swamp skier sometime in the future? Who knows.
Here we can see Soundwave in his robot form! He looks so classic, I just love his blue color with red and yellow accents. You can see that Zartan is holding a transformed pet dog, so perhaps this is the cassette for Soundwave?
Similar to how the Baroness rode on the back of Megatron, here we see that both Zarana and Zartan can ride on the back of Soundwave!
The transformed Thundermachine looks just like it’s vintage counterpart and it’s so cool that this rumor actually came true!
Yo Joe June 2023 is in full swing with GI Joe Classified Series preorders that kicked on June 1, 2023 with amazing figures like Tiger Force Dusty, Python Patrol Crimson Guard, Arctic BAT, & Tele-Viper and Flight Pod. June 14, 2023 saw Tunnel Rat, Cobra Eels, and Desert Commando Snakes Eyes (yes, another Snake Eyes) went up for preorder. According to Entertainment Earth, we’ll see preorders drop on June 14th, 21st, and 28th. June 21, 2023: Low Light, Grunt, and Snow Serpent Officially Revealed

Grunt
Thanks to Chaz The Guru, we got leaked images of Grunt a day head of the stream!
This new classified version of Grunt looks amazing. He comes with 2 helmets, the first is his classic green army helmet, and the second is a bonus Steel Corps helmet, so you can army build this guy! He also includes a backpack, knife, pistol, and two sub machine guns. Grunt comes with some very cool web gear, and lots of pouches on his uniform. He even has his name and an American Flag tampo’d on his chest. The head sculpt they used makes him look like a hard-core army solider.
He has a tack vest with a knife and a data pad to see what the mission is and where his team is at.
He also comes with a Steel Corps helmet to swap with his head so you can army build him. Steel Corps helmet is different from the 2 pack. In addition, he has a laser rifle, machine gun and backpack.

Snow Serpent
Thanks to Chaz The Guru, we got leaked images of the Snow Serpent a day head of the stream!
Snow Serpent is a deluxe figure and comes with a Bazooka, rifle, rifle pack, snowboard and snow shoes. He also includes a wolf cape and headgear, this is cool so you can army build and denote rank of the troop. Snow Job will have his hands full taking on these Snow Serpents!

Low Light
We also got treated to a leaked image of Low Light a day ahead of the reveal!
Low Light looks amazing in plastic and he features his classic gray uniform and red removable goggles. The sniper gear is a nod to his 25th anniversary version, which includes a rifle case as the parts to his sniper rifle come apart and you can pack them in the case.
He comes with backpack to hold his weapons and an amazing rifle case to hold his sniper rifle, bipod, suppressor and more. Comes with his classic removable goggles. He is packed out with a ton of accessories.

June 14, 2023: Tunnel Rat, Eels, and Desert Commando Snake Eyes
Week 2 kicks off with a bang with 3 new figures up for preorder today! Emily and Lenny revealed Desert Commando Snake Eyes, The Cobra Eels and Tunnel Rat! We covered leaks for Tunnel Rat and Desert Commando Snake Eyes on our Tunnel Rat Desert Commmando Snake Eyes Images Leaked (toyhabits.com), so check that out as well. So let’s dive into each figure and check them out!
Tunnel Rat
Tunnel Rat will be a mainline collection release available where all toys are sold and also on Hasbro Pulse dropping at 1pm EST, 10am PST.
Tunnel Rat is an exciting new addition to the line! He is all packed and ready to go underground and strike!
Some of Tunnel Rat’s features include:
- LMG Rifle with bipod
- Night googles that fit on multiple figures
- Black out paint on arms and face
- Pants, knee pads
Tunnel Rat comes in the windowless GI Joe Classified Series windowless display box. The illustration shows him in a train tunnel with all of this gear!
Tunnel Rat has black hair, a bandanna, neckerchief, and paint on his face and arms. He is wearing a green short-sleeved shirt with ammo belt, black gloves and pants, a dark grey belt, and a brown holster. The pack out on Tunnel Rat was quite impressive as he had a very large, olive-green backpack with holes on top for two removable flashlights, a large black machine gun with long grip and huge scope, and an olive-green TNT pack.
The night vision goggles are a nice touch and, like The Shark commented in his YouTube video, he has kneepads, which is a head scratcher!
Desert Commando Snake Eyes
Desert Commando Snake Eyes will be a Fan Channel and on Hasbro Pulse dropping at 1pm EST, 10am PST
Lenny wanted to put Snake Eyes in a new mission and was Inspired by Dusty and his desert missions , so he came up with Desert Commando Snake Eyes.
Mongoose design, mongoose eats cobra so that an homage to it!Dressed in his commando style outfit, Snake Eyes is dressed in desert-colored camos with tans and browns. This is basically a repaint of the previous Snake Eyes in desert colors. Snake Eyes comes packed with a bevy of accessories that include his backpack, uzi, a pistol, silencer, two swords, a sword sheath, a knife and an ammo belt with grenades!
He has Desert Camo Deco and an anodized orange blade, polarized lens look on the googles!
Cobra Eels
The Cobra Eels are an Amazon Exclusive, but will also be available in limited quantities available on Hasbro Pulse dropping at 1pm EST, 10am PST
The needed some villains for Torpedo to battle against! He comes with:
- Backpack with a jet that you can put blast effects on.
- Harpoon gun
- Clear mask you can see his face thru, and connects to the backpack
- Comes with flippers so he can swim through the water
Grunt
This new classified version of Grunt looks great from the digital render below. The new digital render of Low Light is a complete homage to the ARAH version of Low Light! He is completely the classic version in his grey outfit with red googles and he looks incredible! He comes with a huge pack out of accessories! He has a ginormous sniper bag and a ton of gear so let’s check it out!

June 1, 2023 Preorders: Tiger Force Dusty, Python Patrol Crimson Guard, Arctic BAT, & Tele-Viper and Flight Pod
Yo Joe June 2023 kicks off GI Joe Classified Series day 1 preorders with help from Emily & Lenny who showed up this morning on Instagram with surprise preorder announcements first thing in the morning! They kicked off Yo Joe June with reveals of Tiger Force Dusty, Python Patrol Crimson Guard, the Arctic BAT and Tele Viper with the Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble). Let’s take a look at the in hand production samples that Emily and Lenny showed off this morning and then we let you know everywhere you can purchase these.
Tiger Force Dusty
Tiger Force Dusty is the latest of the GI Joe Classified figures to get the Tiger Force Treatment! This version of Dusty is a Target exclusive, as has been with the rest of the Tiger Force, but had a limited quantity available on Hasbro Pulse. This is a Classified version of the 1988 A Real American Hero Tiger Force version of Dusty. We can see the package front illustration pictured below showing Dusty in the Desert but in Tiger Force colors. On the rear of the package, we can see what the actual figure looks like. You can see Dusty’s face with some camo paint on it. He has on a green and yellow tiger print shirt. and khaki green pants. He has the same oversize draping helmet and googles. Also per the side of the package photo, we now know that Tiger Force Dusty will be #65! He comes packed with the same accessories as before but in this khaki green color scheme.

Python Patrol Crimson Guard
Hasbro is coming out in full force with the Python Patrol and, according to Joepedia, “The Python Patrol was introduced in issue #88 of the original Marvel Comics run. Loyal to the imposter Cobra Commander, Python Patrol’s technology was developed by Dr. Mindbender in order to help Destro’s cousin Darklon increase his company’s armament sales. Despite their eventual defeat in a minor border skirmish, the technology proved successful enough for Cobra to continue developing. They later appeared in issues #99, #100, and Special Missions #28. The same year Python Patrol released Hasbro contracted DiC to produce a new G.I. Joe cartoon. The Operation: Dragonfire mini-series came after a two year hiatus of no new cartoons. It followed the Sunbow continuity. Unhappy with Serpentor’s leadership, the Baroness and Gnawghyde kidnap Cobra Commander, who is still a snake as result of being exposed to mutating spores in Cobra-La. Upon discovering an ancient mystical energy called Dragonfire, they use a neanderthal focusing mask and Cobra sonic technology to return him to humanoid form. Upon being restored, the Commander uses the mask and Dragonfire focusing technology to create the Python Patrol. Afterwards, they help Cobra Commander regain control of Cobra from Serpentor.”

Artcic BAT
We previously covered leaked images of the Arctic BAT in our Arctic BAT GI Joe Classified Series Packaging Leak article. Looks like Hasbro is changing up the BAT head sculpt in a killer way (pun intended) and he is armed to the teeth! The box art is absolutely amazing and this new head sculpt for the BAT is freakin killer! Well today, it was officially announced and we have in hand production and official images for you, plus where to buy! Armed for an arctic mission, he is armed with a chainsaw and a sniper rifle. He has a polorized lens for his googles. He also has a fidelity sci-fi lens on his helmet, new chest piece with all sorts of pouches on it, and all the previous BAT parts fits with him! This is a fan channel and specialty retailer exclusive.

Tele Viper and Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)
The Tele Viper and Flight Pod was the coolest reveal of the day! I can see people buying multiple ones of these. The Tele Viper comes with 3 heads, and comes with a VR headset for inflight optics! Comes with sonic rifle with sci-fi backpack, and also includes a cool data pad on his wrist as well. The flight pod has a very retro vibe, with new details and an update to the vintage design. It comes with has removeable rockets that could port blast effects. Can you also remove the dog bones off the sides, the windshield lifts up, and it has cool 1980’s screen graphics on the little display screen. The bottom gun is on a ball peg, and even includes a seat belt for the figure.
