King Grayskull MOTU Mondo Sixth Scale Tease
We’ve been keeping an eye on this one and now Mondo has dropped the third tease in what’s shaping up to be one of the most intriguing sixth scale reveals in recent memory. After teasing Laser Power He-Man and Flying Fists He-Man earlier this week, Mondo just posted what is unmistakably a King Grayskull tease on their Instagram, and the community is already running wild with speculation about what all of this means. The big question on everyone’s mind right now, and one that Pixel Dan summed up perfectly in the comments, is whether we’re looking at three separate releases or one massive deluxe figure loaded with interchangeable parts, similar to how Mondo’s first deluxe He-Man came packed with components to build out both Thunder Punch and Battle Armor versions. That first release proved Mondo could pull off an incredibly versatile package in a single box, so the idea that they could do the same here with Laser Power, Flying Fists, and King Grayskull parts is not out of the question at all, and honestly it would be a jaw-dropping value proposition if they went that route. On the other hand, three individual releases would give each version the room to breathe with dedicated sculpts, unique accessories, and the kind of deep attention to the source material that Mondo is known for in this scale. Either way, the fact that they’ve rolled these teases out one per day like a slow build tells me Mondo knows exactly what they’re doing and they’re enjoying watching collectors try to piece the puzzle together in real time. The prototype shot shows off that iconic castle-forged aesthetic that King Grayskull carries, and even at this early stage the sculpt looks like it could be something truly special. Only time will tell how this all comes together, but I’m fired up to see where this week of teases ultimately leads.
King Grayskull Tease
A close-up reveals the sculpt on King Grayskull’s chest armor in impressive detail, with a deep red iron cross center piece framed by gold filigree accents and a small skull crest at the top. His flowing blonde hair drapes over the brown leather-look shoulder wraps, and the metallic silver and gold tones on the upper armor have a nice weathered sheen to them.
