Laser Power He-Man MOTU Origins Hi Res Art & Package Reveal
I have the power! Huge thanks to @manuel_eduardo_caritas for posting these amazing images of the upcoming Masters of the Universe Origins Laser Power He-Man, giving us a gorgeous look at the hi-res packaging art and a full 360 view of the figure. I always loved the Laser Power He-Man concept from the vintage line, and seeing it reimagined for Origins is super exciting. The card art by @axel.gimenez with colors by @dc_alonso_colorist and toy design by @katanarama333, is absolutely stunning, depicting He-Man wielding the ancient crystal-powered Laser Power Sword against Laser Light Skeletor. There are some really cool details in the background, including what fans are spotting as the tiny gremlins from The Masks of Power and even a Strobo appearance on the front packaging art! For those who remember, Laser Power He-Man was one of those late-era vintage MOTU figures that pushed the line into wild new territory with its light-up gimmick and unique aesthetic, and it’s so much fun to see Mattel give the heroic master of light energy the Origins treatment. The packaging design and art direction by @manuel_eduardo_caritas continues to set the bar for how good action figure presentation can look on a card, and I love how every Origins release feels like a love letter to the franchise’s history. Fans in the comments are already clamoring for Laser Light Skeletor to pair alongside him, and of course there are passionate pleas for Strobo to finally get his own figure. Will we see more Laser-era characters join the Origins lineup? Only time will tell, but the excitement around this release is a great sign. So let’s take a look at the MOTU Origins Laser Power He-Man hi res art and package reveal!
The card art for Laser Power He-Man features illustration by @axel.gimenez with colors by @dc_alonso_colorist, depicting He-Man wielding a massive Laser Power Sword with energy radiating from it. Down in the foreground, is Laser Light Skeletor clutches a red havoc staff, a nice tease for fans hoping those characters get their own Origins releases.

According to: @manuel_eduardo_caritas:
The power of the ancient crystals turned into a Laser Power Sword to help He-Man in the battle against evil.

The back of the packaging continues the illustration with a stormy, lightning-filled Eternian scene framing He-Man as he leaps from crumbling stone architecture of Grayskull Tower of Eternia.

The full wrap-around artwork by @axel.gimenez spreads across the front of the packaging, showing He-Man lunging toward Laser Light Skeletor near glowing ancient crystals while small gremlins from The Masks of Power scatter across the rocky terrain below. It’s cool to see Strobo tucked into the background near Skeletor, keeping the tease alive for fans who’ve been asking for that figure.

The toy design by @katanarama333 looks incredible from every angle in that 360 video. Enjoy the 360 degree view of the packaging below:
The front of the packaging shows Laser Power He-Man in the window, outfitted with his teal harness, silver “H” chest emblem, matching teal boots, and silver wrist guards, with the translucent green Laser Power Sword and gray hammer packed alongside him. A yellow cord loops around the laser power sword, and the overall color scheme leans heavily into teal and silver, a nice departure from the classic look.

The packaging is shown at an angle that highlights both the front window and the side panel, where a continuation of the painted Eternian landscape features a small creature lurking among the rocks. I like how the side art keeps the illustrated world going beyond the main card, rewarding collectors who display these in-box.

The packaging is shown from a slightly different angle here, giving a clearer look at how the front window and card back sit together as a unit. The rocky, crystal-filled Eternian landscape on the box art wraps seamlessly from panel to panel, and the small gold gremlins printed near the base of the window add a fun layer of detail to the overall design.

The full hi-res artwork gives a much closer look at the detail in @axel.gimenez ‘s illustration, from the chain links mace hanging from the tracks of the Eternian Grayskull Ttower, to the glowing energy beam extending from the Laser Power Sword mounted. Laser Light Skeletor’s red havoc staff has a nice translucent glow effect in the foreground, and the crumbling stone architecture of Grayskull Tower behind He-Man is packed with texture.

This closer crop of the wrap-around artwork gives a better look at Laser Light Skeletor’s intricate costume details, from the ornate brown and red armor plating across his torso to the flowing purple hood and cape billowing behind him. He-Man’s silver robotic gauntlet reaches toward Skeletor with fingers splayed, and the yellow crystal formations towering in the background add a nice sense of ancient Eternian energy to the scene.

The artwork here focuses on Strobo in his dark blue cape and robotic helmet, wielding a red blaster pistol while a yellow energy cord trails behind him. He-Man’s teal boots and leg armor fill the right side of the frame, with the glowing Laser Power Sword held overhead casting warm light across the rocky terrain.

Teases
Before diving into all of the hidden details, I want to call out that this artwork comes from the incredibly talented duo of Axel Gimenez and David Cal Alonso, and you can actually spot their signatures worked right into the art itself, which is such a cool touch, which are like Easter eggs so it’s always fun to see where they show up. I really appreciate how their style brings these scenes to life with sharp line work and bold color choices that make every element pop while honoring the figures we grew up with!

Laser Light Skeletor Tease
Zooming in on Skeletor here, I like how both pieces of art really lean into that tech-heavy look with the red laser power Havoc Staff dominating the scene, showing off all the illustrated ridges, circular emitter details, and that glowing energy effect building at the end. The hooded cloak flows back behind him while the harness and armor pieces stay tight to the body, and that mechanical arm is front and center, lit up as if it is channeling power straight into the weapon. The skull face pops with those bright eyes under the hood, and you can see how the stance is braced as he fires forward, matching the larger battle scene we saw earlier. What stands out to me is that this is now another clear nod to Laser Light Skeletor, and when you stack this with the previous teases on the Eternia playset box art and the Camo Khan card art, plus this latest appearance, it really feels like Mattel keeps putting him right in front of us without officially saying it yet.

Strobo Tease
Taking a closer look at the card art, I like how the action spreads across the scene with Laser Power He-Man charging forward while Laser Light Skeletor is defending himself. Off to the side, you can see Strobo with blaster in hand, who is clearly teased, tucked into the chaos of the battle. It lines up with what we’ve been seeing across multiple pieces of packaging, as Strobo first showed up on the Lord Gr’asp card art, reinforcing that he’s not just a one-off Easter egg but likely part of a bigger plan.

Eternia Playset Easter Egg
On closer inspection, that hanging ball and chain does not look like a tease for Megator after all. It appears to be a visual nod to the Eternia playset feature connected to Grayskull Tower, where the ball and chain loops around and can automatically drop when the cable car passes by. I like that this artwork is pulling in an actual play feature from the Eternia Playset rather than hinting at a character, because it ties the scene back to the vintage playset in a really specific way.

Laser Power He-Man
Laser Power He-Man is a recreation of one of the rarest vintage Masters of the Universe figures ever produced. The original figure was released late in the vintage line and was not available in the United States, making it largely unknown to many fans at the time and highly sought after on the secondary market. Mattel’s new version is designed to stay true to the original figure’s look and feel while updating it with modern articulation and construction. The team referenced archive materials and vintage samples to refine the sculpt, maintaining the core design while adapting features that would not translate directly to modern engineering. The release gives collectors a chance to own a version of a figure that has historically been difficult and expensive to acquire. It features a classic-inspired aesthetic with updated functionality, and was scheduled to go live on Mattel Creations around the end of the livestream. I really like how the light up Power Sword becomes the focal point here, with the bright yellow blade glowing cleanly against the darker shot and making the accessory pop in He Man’s raised hand. The cord trailing down from the sword adds that wired effect tied to the feature, while the figure’s classic harness, wrist cuffs, and boots stay secondary as the illuminated blade does all the work.

I like how the light up Power Sword immediately draws your eye again, this time extending forward with that same bright yellow glow that carries through the blade. The wired connection is clearly visible running from the sword back to the waist-mounted power unit, giving a clean look at how the feature is integrated. From this wider view, you can see how the setup reads all together on the figure without getting too deep into the sculpt just yet.

The card art up top shows He Man lunging forward with the wired sword in hand, clashing against Skeletor who is depicted with a similar tech setup, which I think is a really cool nod to the Laser Light Skeletor concept right on the packaging. The figure sits inside a clear window box with the sword, power unit, and tubing visible, giving you a full look at how everything is packed together, while the desert style backdrop behind him ties back into the scene illustrated above.

Getting in close, I like how the metallic silver belt really pops here with that raised “H” detail catching the light, giving it a clean, reflective finish. The harness straps wrap tightly around the torso and connect into the side-mounted power unit, and you can clearly see the tubing running from that unit toward the sword, tying the whole feature together at this scale.

I think it’s cool how the power unit is fully built out here, with the rectangular pack sitting flush against the back and those molded panel lines giving it a mechanical look. The tubing runs cleanly from the pack up through the arm and into the sword hilt, and you can see how the connection point is designed right at the base of the handle to support the light feature.

I like how the sword is pushed into that stylized glow here, with a bright yellow core surrounded by a heavier neon edge that almost flickers along the outline. It definitely reads more like an enhanced effect for the video, since the blade appears thicker and more radiant than the actual piece, giving it that amplified energy look on screen.

I like seeing these side by side because you can immediately pick up on how the overall setup carries forward, with both figures featuring the same harness, wired tubing, and sword connection concept. The vintage release on the left shows a simpler sculpt with a flatter finish on the belt and harness, while the newer Origins version on the right sharpens those details with a more defined belt emblem, cleaner panel lines on the power unit, and a brighter translucent blade for the sword. The packaging art also mirrors the idea across both, with the newer release updating the scene while still keeping that same core action moment intact.
