It looks like Wave 4 of the 200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection is officially starting to surface in the wild, though not quite where most of us were expecting. Huge thanks to @darthroguesgallery on Instagram for coming through and sending us these in-package images of Orko and Teela from the 200x Cartoon Collection, which were discovered at a Kmart in Australia over the Easter weekend. So while collectors in the US will need to sit tight a little longer, this is a great early look at how these two are shaping up on card, and it’s always exciting when figures go from official product shots to actually showing up on the pegs somewhere in the world. We first shared official images and preorder details for this wave not too long ago, and we also broke down the full assortment details for the wave, so it’s really cool to now see the packaging in hand and get a feel for the presentation. Both figures look fantastic on card, with that signature 200x Cartoon Collection branding that Mattel has been nailing throughout this sub-line. What really caught my eye, though, is the cardback on Teela, which appears to tease Mekaneck as a possible future addition to the line, and honestly, if that comes to fruition, it would be an absolutely incredible for 200x fans who have been hoping Mattel keeps digging into that era’s roster. Mekaneck in the 200x style with that updated armor and design language would hit the sweet spot for so many collectors, and I really hope Mattel pulls the trigger on that one. We already know that the Sorceress coming to the line and for now, it’s great to see Wave 4 making its way out into the world, and we’ll be watching closely for any signs of a US street date as more stores begin stocking these.
In Package Images
It’s cool to see these production figures courtesy of @darthroguesgallery, as up until now we’ve only had official images to go by. Both Orko and Teela are carded here on the Cartoon Collection packaging, with the classic Castle Grayskull artwork framing each figure behind the plastic blister, and it sounds like these are already hitting Kmart shelves in Australia.

The back of Orko’s card features artwork inspired by the “Lessons” episode, depicting him in his red robes and hat casting a spell against a serpentine creature, with blue magical energy swirling between them. The bottom of the card shows small illustrations of other figures in the wave, including Teela and Mer-Man alongside Orko.

The back of Teela’s card showcases artwork inspired by “The Ties That Bind,” depicting her standing on rocky terrain in her white and gold outfit with a fur-trimmed loincloth, staff in hand, while a serpentine creature lurks behind her. Small illustrations of other figures in the wave, including Orko and Mer-Man, line the bottom of the card.

The card back artwork placed side by side gives a nice look at the full illustrations for both figures. I like how you can spot Mekaneck and the Sorceress worked into the background of each scene, with Mekaneck appearing in the jungle fending off a creature and the Sorceress floating above the action on Teela’s card back.
