Motherboard Box Teases Future Masterverse or MOTU Origins Figures and Vehicles

Could MOTU Masterverse Teases be hiding in plain site for 2024? According to the Motherboard box, it lists several figure teases!

In a shocking twist of events, friend of Toy Habits @silverkayyy (also cohost of the Geek The F Out YouTube Channel) and Toy Habits Crew member Danny Phillips have made a shocking revelation (or is it Revolution???). The Motherboard Masterverse Mattel Creations box has been hiding a list of what we think are future Masterverse figures and vehicles. This list also could very well be a mix of lines from Masterverse and MOTU Origins and it’s crazy to think that these names are printed on the underside of the Motherboard Masterverse box. This could very well just be a list of trademark names that could be appearing in the upcoming Masters of the Universe Revolution Netlfix series but it’s always fun to speculate what might be coming down the line and Mattel has given us this list on a silver platter by printing it directly on the Motherboard Mattel Creations Mastersverse box!

Masterverse Figure List

Evillyn Morgan Powers

Evil-Lyn’s real name is Lyn Morgan Powers, according to the Masters of the Universe lore and her bios from MOTU Classics. We have already had one Evil-Lyn release in the Masterverse line as she was part of the Masterverse Wave 1 assortment of figures, accompanying He-Man, Skeletor, and Moss Man. We know from SDCC 2023 that a movie Evil-Lyn is coming out as that was revealed at the con. Could this be referring to a New Eternia version of Evil-Lyn? Only time will tell!

Flogg

Flogg, aka Brakk, is a fictional character in the Masters of the Universe and he made his debut in the New Adventures of He-Man cartoon! He is the leader of the Evil Mutants from the planet Denebria. We have seen a a few figures from the New Adventures of He-Man Masterverse sub-line, with He-Man, Skeletor, and Slush Head. It would make total sense for a figure of Flogg to be made because he is the leader of the Evil Mutants. We was released as a figure in the MOTU Classics line so it could stand to reason that we can get a figure of Flogg in the Masterverse line.

Modulok

We know that Modulok will be made for the Masters of the Universe Origins line as Mattel has vowed to complete the line as Mattel Creations exclusives. What this list suggests is the Modulok could be coming to the Masterverse line under the Princess of Power sub-line. In fact, much of this list is from Princess of Power and with Hordak coming to the Masters of the Universe Revolution line, we could see many of Hordak’s minions coming to the line. We’ve covered Modulok quite extensively in the Origins line but it’s great to see that he could be coming to the Masterverse line. As we covered in our Masters of the Universe Origins Teased Figures From Card Art article, Modulok has already appeared on several card back artwork. A gaggle of evil Horde henchman appear on the Sorceress’ card art as well as Hordak’s, including Mantenna, Modulok, Leech, and Grizzlor, make up the bulk of this section. Since we have now seen Modulok on 2 card back artworks and the trademark has recently been renewed, we can probably make this one a given to come to the Origins line in the near future!

Modulok MOTU Origins Tease and Trademark Renewal

Modulok is another very gimmicky MOTU Character. Consisting of 22 Body parts and a 2-part laser gun, Modulok was the first of its kind for the MOTU line! Coined ” Evil Beast of a thousand Bodies”, this Ultimate Transforming Creature was a member of the Evil Horde. Although the Evil Horde are used as the main villains Filmation’s spin-off series, She-Ra Princess of Power, rather than He-Man, Modulok is given the unique honor of making his debut on He-Man instead. Halfway through the first season of, She-Ra: Modulok is incorporated into the She-Ra series, the only character from either show to be transferred permanently from one to the other. This occurs in the episode “Gateway to Trouble” in which Modulok builds a device for Skeletor which can open a portal to Etheria to transport his whole army to the planet. This character is interesting because we recently got the reveal for a 4 legged Mantenna, and that new 4 legged sculpt has set the stage for perhaps how they can also pull off Modulok in the Origins style.

To sweeten the possibility, we discovered that his trademark was renewed on 03/25/2021. Shortly after his figure was release in 1985, Modulok appears on the toy line’s accompanying cartoon series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe by Filmation.

Queen Marlena

Queen Marlena appeared in the Masters of the Universe Revelation series and her first figure was produced for the Masters of the Universe Classics line. We have yet to see a King Randor in the Masterverse line but if Queen Marlena is in the works, a King Randor can’t be too far behind. According to the Wiki Grayskull, “Queen Marlena is the wife of King Randor, the ruler of Eternia. Her authority over the kingdom is roughly equivalent to her husband’s, although Randor is the absolute monarch and the final word of Eternian law. The queen was born Marlena Glenn on the planet Earth, where she became an accomplished pilot while still in her teens. In college, Marlena discovered astronautics and excelled in that field as well. She offered her services to NASA (the National Aeronautics & Space Administration)…who happily accepted. In her final space-mission, Glenn’s ship was thrown off course, causing her to be hopelessly stranded on Eternia. Taken in by Randor, Marlena came to fall in love with him and chose to remain there as his wife and queen consort. Shortly after her arrival on Eternia, Marlena bore Randor their twin children, Prince Adam and Princess Adora, who grew up to fulfill their destinies as He-Man and She-Ra. That He-Man and She-Ra are her children is a closely guarded secret, which even the king does not suspect; however Marlena has hinted that she is aware of Adam’s dual identity.

Madame Razz

Madame Razz is a witch who lives in the Whispering Woods. She uses her abilities to help The Great Rebellion in their fight against Hordak and the Evil Horde. Being a witch she has spellcasting abilities, and is able to brew potions in her cauldron. With the aid of Broom, she can fly. Madame Razz is very absent-minded, and frequently mispronounces spells or forgets them completely, due largely to her advanced age. However, they usually have a tendency to work out for the best regardless. She is the equivalent of Orko in the He-Man series, both as comic relief and for occasional periods of wisdom. Madame Razz was first designed as a figure for the MOTU Classics and she would be a wonderful addition to the Masterverse line.

Dylamug

Dylamug appeared in the She-Ra and the Princess of Power cartoon is was an unproduced Masters of the Universe figure in the vintage line. He was, however, made into a figure in the MOTU Classics line near the end of that epic run of figures. Dylamug is a robotic member of the Evil Horde and his name had a phonetical similitude to “Dial-a-mug”, as his face literally has dials for his eyes, nose and mouth to make him change expression. According to his MOTU Classics bio, “Dylamug was once a diplomat droid from the planet Robotica when Hordak captured and reprogrammed him. Where Dylamug had once been erudite and civil, Hordak made him hedonistic and malevolent. To demoralize the population of Etheria, Hordak set Dylamug loose with a gang of off-duty Troopers to plunder the smaller villages that weren’t vital to the Horde’s operations. Although artificial, Dylamug’s reprogramming made him delight in wicked acts, and he eagerly indulged his now numerous appetites. She-Ra and Bow led a resistance against Dylamug’s mob at the village of Devlan, one of the first turning points for the Rebellion as many previously docile Etherians finally took up arms against the Horde. Despite his defeat, Dylamug continued to serve the Horde as Hordak’s emissary to Horde World where he remained when Hordak left Etheria to conquer Eternia. After She-Ra slew Horde Prime, Dylamug saw the evil leader’s dark spirit infect and incapacitate her. The evil robot then sold her to the Game Master to fight in the galactic arena as Despara.”

Flutterina

Flutterina is a character from the 1985 animated series She-Ra: Princess of Power. Flutterina is a member of the Great Rebellion. Before becoming a freedom fighter, she was a poor servant girl known as ‘Small One’, working at Castle Condore in the Sand Valley on Etheria. After She-Ra brought her to the Crystal Castle, the girl previously known only as Small One was transformed into Flutterina via a magical cocoon. She could hover and fly, and possessed large, beautiful butterfly wings that were powerful enough to disperse enemies when she beat them at full power. In dire straits, she could transform her entire body into a butterfly to escape the Evil Horde; she could also control butterflies of all kinds, using them as messengers and spies. Flutternia was made into a figure with rooted hair for the vintage She-Ra and the Princess of Power line and she was also created as a figure for the Masters of the Universe Classics line. Since the MOTU Classics line is used as heavy inspiration for a potential Masterverse figure, we can see what she might look like is she came to the Revolution line or made an appearance in the animated series.

Entrapta

Entrapta is the Evil Horde’s villainous technician. She appears to be a close sidekick of Catra. She is a skilled inventor, and is credited with designing advanced equipment for The Horde to employ in their battle against The Great Rebellion. Her speciality is devising different traps for members of The Rebellion. One invention created by Entrapta is the Trapper Tank. She was made into a figure for the MOTU Classics line. The Masterverse line has seen a few Princess of Power characters in the line so it would be amazing to see what a Masterverse figure could look like!

Despara

Dark and deviant, she’s the evil alter ego of She-Ra, who is the alter-ego of Adora. Kidnapped as a baby and raised by Hordak, Adora fights for the Horde until twin brother He-Man reveals her true identity. Later, after the defeat of Hordak, the spirit of Horde Prime possesses her and the evil persona of Despara emerges once again. Despara is armed with two swords, battle staff, and an alternate evil head.

Bow

Bow is renowned as the best archer in all of Etheria. Equipped with an array of trick arrows, he uses his skills of illusion and his fierce patriotism for Etheria to fight the Evil Horde.

Eldor

We are hoping Eldor is made both the Masterverse line and the MOTU Origins line! Eldor is a fun one, as he was one of the unproduced prototype characters of the “Powers of Grayskull” spin off line that never came to fruition in the 1980’s Masters of the Universe Line. Prototype images of Eldor and He-Ro had been around for many years, but we never got these figures as kids. But in 2019, thanks to bay area based Super7, we finally got Eldor & He-Ro figures as part of the Masters of the Universe Vintage Style 5.5″ collection.

Eldor known as the Heroic Guardian of the Book of Living spells, looks just like his prototype images! The giant tri-fold book works like a magic trick and changes images by alternating the way the book is opened. You can read all about Eldor’s creation and back story on the Eldor: (1987/2019) battleramblog.com. The trademark for Eldor was renewed by Mattel on 06/22/2021, so we can see that was also fairly recently. Let’s hope Mattel has plans for perhaps a “Powers of Grayskull” sub-line! How awesome would that be? I would love to get a vac-metal He-Ro as well in the Origins style articulation!!!

Heroic Master of Weapons

This designation has been reserved for Man-At-Arms through MOTU history and as we saw history rewritten in the Masters of the Universe Revelation series, this designation was passed to Andra. Andra will play a pivotal role as Man-At-Arms in the Masters of the Universe Revolution series as we saw images of her in footage revealed at SDCC 2023

Scorpia

Scorpia is a character in the animated series She-Ra: Princess of Power. She is a member of the Horde. She is part-human part-scorpion and fights to destroy the Great Rebellion. She was made into a figure for the Masters of the Universe Classics line as she was never made in the vintage She-Ra and the Princess of Power cartoon in the 1980’s.

Masterverse Vehicles

Battle Ram Chariot

This was an intersting vehicle to see on the list and this vehicle was created for the Masters of the Universe 200x line. The vehicle came with a repaint of Skeletor and it was a unique take on a vehicle for Skeletor to ride around in.

War Sled

The War-Sled, as opposed to the Sky Sled, is a one-man aerial assault vehicle commonly used by Skeletor and his Evil Warriors. It is similar in appearance and design to a Sky-Sled, but darker (or sometimes green) in color. Instead of a griffin, it featured a snake-shaped head.

Places in the Masters of the Universe

Despondos

It was odd to see a place referenced on the Motherboard box but we are going with it! Despondos is another dimension that features in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. According to the Wiki Grayskull, “The terrible dark dimension of Despondos was an otherwordly realm that was capable of being summoned by powerful sorcerers in order to entrap their foes. When the Evil Horde rampaged over Eternia, their master Hordak sought to defeat the last threat to him which was Castle Grayskull which was led by its King. Nearly overpowering the forces of light, Hordak ordered his wizards to summon forth the terrible dimension of Despondos in order to finally vanquish his foes. As the portal formed around the Castle, King Grayskull called upon his ancient might and channeled it through his Power Sword sending forth a great blast into the Horde. This act forced the portal to form around Castle Grayskull and fall below thus creating a massive chasm whereupon King Grayskull used his power to send Hordak along with the Horde into Despondos. Whilst Hordak and his minions had been banished, the evil warlord had mortally wounded King Grayskull and promised that he would return.”
