MOTU Origins Movie Figures On-Card First Look

We’re finally getting a look at how the Masters of the Universe Origins movie figures will actually appear on the pegs, and I have to say the packaging alone tells you Mattel is treating this tie-in as something distinct from the mainline Origins releases we’ve been collecting for years. We first got our official look at the movie figures themselves not too long ago, but seeing He-Man and Spikor presented on their actual card fronts adds a whole new layer to the excitement because the packaging design is clearly pulling from the film’s visual identity rather than leaning on the classic Origins branding we’ve grown accustomed to. The card art has a cinematic quality to it that sets these apart the moment you see them, and for MOC collectors who care just as much about how a figure looks hanging on the wall as they do about what’s inside the bubble, this is going to matter a lot. I love how the new design language gives these figures their own shelf presence while still feeling connected to the broader Origins ecosystem, which is exactly what you want from a movie tie-in that needs to appeal to both longtime collectors and fans coming in fresh from the theaters. Spikor showing up this early in the movie packaging reveals is interesting too, because it signals that Mattel isn’t just leading with the obvious heavy hitters and is instead giving collectors a broader roster right out of the gate. It’s one thing to see a figure in loose promotional shots, but there’s always something about that first on-card image that makes a release feel real, and these two are looking sharp. As we approach the wider April 25, 2026 release date for the figures, we are likely to see more in-hand images like this!

The card art features a fiery, explosive scene with a menacing skull looming behind radiating red crystals and molten debris, all framed against a deep blue sky. He-Man is packed with his silver Power Sword and wears his signature silver chest armor with the red iron cross emblem, brown loincloth, matching wrist guards, and dark brown boots.

The back of the box showcases a painted illustration by @fetch.franciscoetchart of He-Man hoisting the Power Sword overhead, with Castle Grayskull. I’m really liking the painterly style here, with warm oranges and cool blues creating a classic fantasy atmosphere that feels right at home on a MOTU package.

Spikor’s card art carries the same fiery skull and red crystal explosion motif, with the dark, moody color palette tying it nicely to the rest of the movie card line. The figure sits in a clear blister showing off his all-purple sculpt covered in sharp spike details across the shoulders and torso, along with brown loin cloth, silver wrist cuffs, and mace weapon tucked near one hand.

The back of Spikor’s box features a fantastic illustration by @fetch.franciscoetchart, showing the character perched on a rocky outcrop swinging his spiked mace ball overhead with Snake Mountain behind him against a stormy purple sky crackling with lightning. The bio text describes him as the “Untouchable Master of Evil Combat,” a spiked servant of Skeletor on a mission to recover the Sword of Power.

Unboxing Video

Smyths Toys also posted a video of the uboxing of Spikor and He-Man, which you an view below:

He-Man

The card art features a fiery, explosive composition with Castle Grayskull’s skull facade looming at the center, surrounded by shards of red crystal and rocky debris. I like how the artwork leans into a darker, more cinematic tone compared to the classic Origins card art, which makes sense given the movie tie-in.

fetch.franciscoetchart posted a glimpse of the rear card art for He-Man and it looks absolutely stunning!

Spikor

Spikor sits in the blister with his purple skin covered in sculpted spikes across his head, shoulders, and torso. His brown trunks, metallic silver wrist cuffs, and the silver mace-like weapon hand offer a nice contrast against all that purple.
