New September 23rd MOTU Drop Appears on AU Mattel Creation Launch Calendar

A mystery Masters of the Universe drop has appeared on the Australian Mattel Creations launch calendar for September 23, but right now the date is the only solid clue we have. Huge thanks to masterversal_toyhunter on Instagram for the heads-up. The U.S. and U.K. calendars haven’t been updated, though the Australian calendar is often ahead of them and can offer an early look at upcoming releases. That leaves plenty of room for speculation after a quiet August for MOTU collectors. Mattel revealed Laser Light Skeletor and Two-Bad during its SDCC 2026 MOTU panel, making either character a reasonable possibility for the next Origins release. Eldor is another candidate after the unannounced figure appeared on the back of the Snake Lair packaging. Mattel could also surprise us with another MOTU Chronicles release following King Hiss, a figure that wasn’t on anyone’s radar before his reveal. For now, September 23 is worth marking down, but the calendar provides no figure name, product image, line designation, price, or other details that identify what Mattel has planned.

Eldor MOTU Origins Figure

Eldor appears on the back of the Snake Lair packaging, giving us an early look at a MOTU Origins figure Mattel has not officially revealed yet. The design features a brown hooded outfit with fur-trimmed shoulders, gold armor details, a gray beard, and a staff.

Eldor has a rugged, wizard-like look with a large brown hood framing his gray-bearded head and thick fur detailing running along the shoulders and down the front of his tunic. The exposed gray chest, gold belt and waist armor break up all that brown nicely, while the wrapped boots and gnarled wooden staff give him a weathered, old-world feel that fits the character really well.

Laser Light Skeletor was revealed during the SDCC 2026 MOTU panel, giving the vintage-inspired figure a new Origins release. He features bright blue skin, a green skull with red eyes, ornate bronze armor, a deep purple cape and hood, and a light-up red Havoc Staff that recreates one of the defining features of the original figure.

Two Bad was one of the biggest reveals from the SDCC 2026 MOTU panel, and the crowd absolutely went bonkers when Mattel showed him off. The long-awaited MOTU Origins figure brings back the character’s wonderfully weird two-headed design with an all-new torso and legs, updated proportions, bright blue and purple coloring, and his classic yellow chest armor.
