Masters of the Universe Guardians of Grayskull Game Trademark Filing
Since the Masters of the Universe Origins and ThunderCats crossover line was teased at Mattel’s panel at San Diego Comic Con 2024, we’ve been trying to dig up as much dirt as we could on the line. Since the tease, we, received early information about the Wave 1 and Wave 2 figure assortments and the first official images of Lion-O, Cheetara, Battlle Cat-Man, and Skell-Ra have been revealed. As you know, we keep track of Mattel’s trademark renewals and filings as it relates to the Masters of the Universe and like to clues all over the internet and one of the places we look on a regular basis might have revealed the name of the new MOTU Origins ThunderCats crossover line. Although the filing relates to a new game Mattel might be developing, the name “MOTU Guardians of Grayskull”would fit the new MOTU ThunderCats crossover line quite nicely! The MOTU TMNT crossover line was called Turtles of Grayskull and we doubt they name the line something like the Kitty Cats of Grayskull or the Cats of Grayskull. Could it be the new name of the line? Possibly but, at the least, it looks like a cool game is in development.

Guardians References in ThunderCats
As the Sorceress is the Guardian of the Castle Grayskull, the Guardian of the Book of Omens is a mystical being that resides in an alternate dimension that is located within the Book of Omens. This sentient spirit has the appearance of an enlarged Eye of Thundera. The Guardian has immeasurable knowledge about everything relating to the ThunderCats. He will however, share that knowledge only with whoever has the Key of Thundera.

Skell-Ra
Evil awakens with the Skell-Ra Action Figure ($29.99). This is such a cool idea where you get two figures in one! The collaboration of two iconic 80s brands, Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats, yields an action figure of the Ever-Living Evil of Eternia, Skell-Ra! He comes with 2 swappable heads, a reversible purple / red cape, and swappable harness and skirt armor pieces, so he can evolve from Skell-Ra into Mumm-Ra. The Sword of Plun-darr completes the double-edged picture.

You can switch between Skeletor and Mumm-Ra with the figure’s Sword of Plundarr weapon, a reversible cape, swappable heads, and swappable harness and skirt armor pieces.

A hi res close up of Skell-Ra’s face shows you what an incredible job Mattel did with these sculpts! Skeletor looks super cool with his red eyes and skeleton jaw! Also the face sculpt for Mumm-Ra is so classic looking!
