The Reptilian Army figures hit the Super7 Ultimates line last year, and we have the pleasure of getting the Reptilian Guard for an in hand review courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store! The Reptilian army consisted of the Warrior, The Guard and the Brute. This was my favorite of the three Reptilian army figures as he has a bright yellow soft goods tunic and real rope belt. Packaged in the original Super7 Ultimates packaging, the Reptilian Guard’s packaging comes with an outer sleeve as shown below.

Once you remove the outer sleeve, you reveal the Reptilian Guard figure within. The rear of the package includes an illustration of the Reptilian Guard with a bio that reads ” Reptilians are a scaly humaniod race from the planet Plun-Darr. Loyal to their vile leader Slithe, the Reptilians lack intelligence but possess formidable strength and deadly weaponry. A battalion of Reptilians accompanied Slithe and the Mutants when they pursued the Thunderian flagship to Third Earth. There, the Reptilians continued to take orders from Slithe, serving as guards and assisting the Mutants in their battles with the ThunderCats.”

Here you can see just how large the Reptilian guard is. I love his soft goods yellow tunic and real rope belt. The back of his tunic also has nice brown sewing on the back that looks rustic as well.

The Reptillians

The Reptilians hail from the planet Plun-Darr. Under the command of Slithe, they attacked the Thunderian Flagship in order to steal the Eye of Thundera. However, their attempts were thwarted by the ThunderCats. They neverthelesss followed the Flagship all the way to Third Earth where they again tried to gain possession of the Eye, albeit unsuccessfully. After this defeat at the hands of the Cats, most of the Reptilians left Third Earth in their spaceships. A few remained behind with the Mutants and worked for them as guards, cooks and fighters.

Derrived from the cartoon, Super7 has created a Reptillian Warrior and with respect to the Reptillian species in general, “they are anthropomorphic lizard type creatures with thick scaly skin, claws and a tail. Their skin color varies from being green in some to grey in others. They have a scaly spine protruding from their backs which begins from their head and extends down their backs. They also have random dark spots and pigmentations on parts of their bodies. They are similar in appearance to their leader, Slithe but have smaller ears than him. According to the Thundercats Ho Wiki. “Reptilian Guards are Mutants who live in Castle Plun-Darr and act as sentry to protect the Mutants’ fortress from intruders. They bear a slight resemblance to their reptilian leader Slithe and are generally clad in cavemen-like garbs. They aren’t very bright or alert and not very good at hand-to-hand combat either. They are armed with mostly primitive weapons like clubs and maces.”
