So with Slime Pit He-Man being teased in the MOTU Origins Mini Comic, does that mean we are maybe getting a Slime Pit He-Man in the Origins line? And can we then be getting a slime pit to follow as well? A link to Sweat Pants Joe video will be provided at the bottom of this article.

Night of the Leech Mini Comic

In the included mini comic that comes with the new Leech Origins Deluxe action figure, “Night of the Leech” we get a tease at Slime Pit He-Man! Spoiler alert, we will show you the entire mini comic below, so if you don’t want to know, stopping reading LOL … this is your warning haha …. Could this tease be a hint of what Mattel might be cooking up as an upcoming figure? As we know, Mattel loves to tease us of upcoming figures thru their card art, as we covered in Part 1 of the 3 part mini series Masters of the Universe Origins Teased Figures From Card Art. Well, they also use their mini comics to telegraph to us what figures might be coming down the pipe line and this one is a doozy! Slime Pit He-Man is a huge fan favorite and a natural fit to the Origins line. So could his inclusion in “Night of the Leech” be a huge hint? Only time will tell, but for now it’s a big possibility!

The Slime Pit:

The Slime pit itself has already been teased to us on the spectacular artwork that housed the amazing 2021 Power-Con Horde 4 pack, as we covered in our article What MOTU Vehicles and Playsets are Next in the Origins Line? If Slime Pit He-man is being Teased in this mini comic, and we have already seen the Slime Pit in a major piece of packaging artwork, you start to put the pieces together and it looks like a forgone conclusion right?!

According to the Wiki Grayskull

The Slime Pit is the name of two different Masters of the Universe locations. The original Slime Pit was released with the original Mattel storyline, with the other coinciding with the MYP/Four Horsemen MOTU series in 2003. Both locations were made as playsets for the toylines and both playsets came with sticky green slime for play value. The original Slime Pit belongs to the Evil Horde, it is a dinosaur skull-shaped device and a claw, which Hordak uses to trap Eternian Warriors inside it. The dinosaur head then tips forward to coat its unfortunate victim with slime. In the In the MOTU universe, the effect of the slime transforms everyone covered by it into a lumbering, mindless slime-monster, stripped of their own free will, and instead carrying out Hordak’s evil bidding.

Slime Pit | Wiki Grayskull | Fandom

The Slime Pit playset was released in 1986 and jumped on that 1980’s slime craze band wagon, like so many other toys back then! It was the Lair of the Evil Horde to torture their unsuspecting victims. It was a fairly simple playset; a dinosaur claw would come out of a pit and hold your figure in place to lay wait for the oncoming slime that fed from a dinosaur skull above.

Mattel had also sold separate containers of Horde branded slime, so that you could constantly keep your slime pit well stocked.

The Slime Pit has only been pictured once in MOTU Origins artwork. As see below, it was prominently displayed on the exterior of the Masters of the Universe Origins 2021 Power Con Exclusive Horde 4 Pack.

Zombie Slime Pit He-Man

Zombie Slime Pit He-Man is one of those pop culture phenomena, as Slime Pit He-Man was never made into a figure during the original Vintage 1980’s line. As a matter of fact, we finally got Slime Pit He-Man as an official action figure in the Masters of the Universe Classics Line in and as a Power Con Exclusive in 2019 as pictured below. Slime Pit He-Man has appeared in the Eternia Minis line since and even some creative customizers have also made more vintage style looking Zombie Slime Pit He-Man figures, as shown below. He has always been portrayed in a bright green translucent plastic.

In Conclusion

Mattel could easily make this figure as he has always been a simple repaint. Mattel has already played around with translucent plastic before in their Art of Engineering Skeletor figure! So Mattel can easily put out this figure in the very near future, if they wanted to! Let’s hope that this tease in the “Night of Leech” mini comic, and that huge featured art work of the Slime pit in the 2021 Power-Con Exclusive Horde set is a huge hint of what’s to come!!
