Panthro’s packout is shown below. If you watch the interview with Brian Flynn on we want more Thundercat he does mention that perhaps this version of Panthro will be available separately sometime in the future because it doesn’t make sense to waste this new sculpt. So if this new version of the Thundetank isn’t for you or you already have the thunder tank, but you just want this Panthro don’t fret because hopefully he will be available by himself in the future.
ThunderTank Recolor Tease
SDCC is around the corner and Super7 has some surprises up their sleeve. The first such surprise is coming before SDCC 2025 starts, and will be an Amazon Exclusive. We got the following image teased to us by Super7 on Instagram with the caption “Something massive is rolling in…#ComingSoon” As discussed on the We Want More ThunderCats – YouTube, Brian Flynn has teased as two separate ThunderCats announcements coming soon. This first one will be this Amazon Exclusive coming on July 14th, and the second will be about the 2025 SDCC exclusives and will be announced on July 24th. Taking a look at the image below, it looks like we are getting an all new sculpt for Panthro. Can it be a pinless version? Deluxe or Ultimates Panthro? Only time will tell, but we will find out in two short days! Then is this an other version of the Thundertank? We crack the clues below. So let’s take a look at the Super7 ThunderCats Amazon Exclusive Vehicle tease!
Let’s explore my theory a little further. I believe this will be an LJN recolor of the Super7 Ultimates ThunderTank. This is consistent with what Super7 did last year by recoloring the TMNT Party Wagon into the Pizza Wagon. Let’s compare this teaser image with the original ThunderTank. Here we can see several control panel elements that match the original ThunderTank shown on the right (second) below. You can compare the blue console screen with the black one on the original tank and the shapes are the same! Also take a look at the clear cover windshield peg holes in the front of the tank, they match up as well. Also the round element with the riveted panel around it. Then the shape of the tank on the top is the same! Mystery cracked!
