LJN WWE Superstars Wave 3 Revealed at Wrestlemania 42
This one caught me off guard, and I think it’s safe to say I’m not the only one. Huge thanks to mightycomics_collectibles for the heads up and @majorwfpod for posting imags as Wave 3 of the LJN WWE Superstars line was officially revealed at WrestleMania 42, and the lineup is The Rock, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and…Jelly Roll. Yes, that Jelly Roll. Now, if you’ve been following this line closely, you’ll remember that during the SDCC 2025 panel there were strong teases pointing toward Jay Uso and CM Punk as the next names to join the roster, so the fact that they shifted gears entirely and went in a completely different direction is definitely worth talking about. The Rock, Piper, and Jake the Snake all make perfect sense for this line because they’re classic names that fit the LJN aesthetic like a glove, and honestly those three picks alone would have made this wave an easy slam dunk with collectors who grew up squeezing those chunky rubber figures in their hands. But Jelly Roll is the one that’s going to divide the room, and I get it from both sides. On the one hand, he’s a massive WWE personality right now, he’s been deeply woven into their programming, and the crossover appeal is undeniable, so from a marketing perspective you can see exactly why they’d slot him in. On the other hand, this is a line that has built its identity on nostalgia and honoring the legends who defined an era of wrestling, and dropping a modern celebrity into that mix when collectors were expecting names like Punk and Uso feels like a curveball that nobody saw coming. It does and doesn’t make sense at the same time, which is kind of the most interesting thing about it. I’m curious to see how the community reacts once these start showing up in hand, and whether Jay Uso and CM Punk are simply being held for a future wave or if plans have changed more than we realize.
LJN Superstars Wave 3
A lineup of WWF Superstars retro-style cards sits on the table during the Wrestlemania 42 panel, with the classic blue card art and red framing that nails the original LJN packaging look. The wave includes The Rock, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jake the Snake, and Jelly Roll, which is a surprising but fun addition to the line.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts stands loose in front of his carded counterpart, sporting green trunks with purple snake-pattern detailing and purple boots that match the classic LJN color scheme nicely. Beside him, a figure in all black is Jelly Roll!

Rowdy Roddy Piper is posed loose here wearing his signature white “Hot Rod” t-shirt and a green-and-red tartan kilt, with tall red boots and grey socks completing the look. That head sculpt is really solid, capturing his smirk perfectly, and the carded version behind him gives a nice sense of scale between the loose and packaged figure. This version differs from his vintage figure slightly as he has an undated head sculpt and a darker kilt.

The Rock is posed loose here with his championship belt sculpted around his waist, wearing black trunks, black elbow pads, and tall black lace-up boots with knee pads. Two carded versions sit behind him, one on the blue card and one on the black chase variant.
