Man-E-Faces and Whiplash Coming To 200x MOTU Origins As Deluxe Figures
We’ve been keeping an eye on this one and it’s time to share what we found, because this is the kind of detective work that makes running Toy Habits so rewarding. For weeks now, we’ve known that the 200x Masters of the Universe Origins lineup had deluxe figures slotted alongside the Wave 5 and Wave 6 figure assortments, but the actual character names attached to those slots remained a mystery, with Amazon listings showing product codes and documentation but no identities to go with them. That was puzzle piece number one. Puzzle piece number two came when we were able to scan some barcodes provided by an anonymous source, and when those scans returned results, the names finally shoed up. We can now confidently report that Whiplash and Man-E-Faces are the two missing deluxe figures rounding out the 200x Origins waves 5 and 6, and based on the product codes we’ve cross-referenced, we also know which wave each one belongs to. Whiplash as a deluxe makes immediate sense when you think back to how the 2002 animated series portrayed him as this hulking, oversized brute on par with the deluxe treatment we’ve already seen given to characters like Beast Man and Clawful, so seeing him get that same scaled-up presentation here feels like exactly the right call. Man-E-Faces is a bit more of a head-scratcher at first glance, but once you remember how he towered over He-Man and that the his entire gimmick revolves around three faces and that rotating head mechanism, the deluxe classification starts to make a lot more sense since that kind of built-in feature likely demands extra tooling and engineering that wouldn’t fit a standard release budget. Tracking these waves has been a while ride from discovering the figure assortments, then going from blank Amazon listings with no names attached to scanning barcodes and finally locking in the identities is exactly why we stay patient when the puzzle pieces don’t quite fit at first, and it’s moments like these that remind me why toy investigative journalism is such a thrill. With the 200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Wave 5 preorder, now the big question is when Mattel will pull back the curtain with official reveals, and whether these two will live up to the high bar the 200x Origins line has been setting.
Whiplash (JHK13): Wave 5
The Target in-store scanner confirms Whiplash as a Masters of the Universe Origins Deluxe 200X figure, with TCIN 94975033 and DPCI 087-26-4883 listed at $23.99.

Whiplash Tease
If you recall, Whiplash was teased on Prince Adam’s card art as Prince Adam is caught mid stride as he drives forward with his sword arm raised, his vest flaring open and boots kicking up debris as he moves through the scene. Behind him, Whiplash bursts out of the shadows with his jaws open wide and arms outstretched, while tri-Klops steps in from the side firing a bright green energy blast from his eye as Trap Jaw lurks in the background. I love how the action feels stacked here, with Adam pushing ahead while the Evil Warriors close in at the same time, giving a clear tease that things are about to get very messy.

Whiplash 200x
Whiplash was featured in the MYP animated series as we get a glimpse into this background. Unlike the 80’s Filmation cartoon where he played a more significant role, Whiplash relegated mostly to background appearances that had little dialogue, no personality, and they really leaned on giving him a more thug like role. With respect to his backstory:
“we see that he is from a race of underground-dwelling reptile creatures called the Caligars, who inhabit Subternia and are caught in permanent dispute with their Subternian neighbours, the bat-like Speleans. The Caligars are shown to be a generally peaceful race, who regard Whiplash as a traitor since he joined Skeletor’s forces.”
Whiplash Wiki Grayskull

A solid reference shot of Whiplash’s upper body from the 200x animated series, showing his green, scaled skin covered in bony ridges and rocky protrusions across his chest, shoulders, and arms. He wears a gold belt at his waist, and those horn-like spikes jutting from his head and shoulders give him a real prehistoric, reptilian look that should translate well into the Origins Deluxe treatment.

Whiplash’s back is the real story here, with that massive tail extending from the base of his spine and rows of bony spikes running along the ridge. His teal loincloth drapes down between his legs, and the sheer bulk of his upper back and shoulders, covered in those rocky protrusions, gives a good preview of how much sculpted texture the Origins Deluxe figure will need to capture from behind.

This three-quarter body shot gives a good sense of how Whiplash’s tail connects and curves outward from his lower body, with the serpent-like head at its tip, while the segmented teal loin armor hangs in layered plates over his legs. His chest features a distinct V-shaped plating in gray that sits over the green scaled torso, a design element that would make for a cool sculpted overlay piece on the Origins Deluxe figure.

The tail is the standout feature here, stretching nearly the full length of his body and ending in that spiked, serpent-like head at the tip. Whiplash was massive in the 200x series, and this full body shot really drives home why he needs the deluxe treatment, as that tail alone is going to require some serious tooling.

Whiplash towers over Evil-Lyn in this shot, with Clawful flanking her on the other side, and it’s a great reminder that both Whiplash and Clawful were massive in the 200x series. Clawful already got the deluxe treatment in Origins, so having both of these guys in hand to recreate this scene is going to be a lot of fun.

Man-E-Faces (JHK14): Wave 6
Like the Whiplash listing, the Target in-store scanner confirms Man-E-Faces as a Masters of the Universe Origins Deluxe 200X figure, with TCIN 94975034 and DPCI 087-26-8566 listed at $23.99.

Man-E-Faces 200x
This full body shot of Man-E-Faces in his Robot face gives a good sense of his overall proportions, with the heavy gray and orange armor plating covering his torso, arms, and legs while red trim lines the edges of his shoulder and knee guards. His size is substantial, and you can see how the bulky armor design across his entire frame justifies the deluxe treatment for the Origins line.

A still from the 200x Masters of the Universe animated series showing Man-E-Faces in his Monster face, with his heavy chest armor and mechanical details.

A close-up from the 200x animated series with Man-E-Faces showing his human face, the stern expression framed by the mechanical drum mechanism flanking his jaw and the tall helmet rising above. Yellow segmented strips run vertically along the faceplate housing on each side.

Man-E-Faces towers over He-Man here in his Robot face, the rectangular visor glowing with a teal slit across a blocky, mechanical head. It makes sense that he’d be a deluxe figure given that size difference, as he dwarfs He-Man by a full head and shoulders in the 200x series.

A close-up on the Robot face from the 200x series, with that bright glowing visor slit cutting across the mechanical head. We highly doubt Mattel would include a light-up feature like this in the Origins figure, but the face-swapping drum mechanism should still capture the angular, blocky design of this mode nicely.

Man-E-Faces in his Human face getting grabbed by Beast Man, with those clawed fingers wrapping around his helmet and armor. This would be a great scene to recreate once the Origins deluxe figure is in hand, especially with a 200x Beast Man alongside him.

A great shot of Man-E-Faces in his Monster face, mid-roar in a dense jungle setting with both arms raised, the horned beast visage baring its fangs. The mechanical drum housing and heavy gray armor on his forearms and shoulders really sell how imposing he is in this mode.
