GI Joe Classified Series NYCC 2026 Panel Reveals and Info
Hasbro used its New York Comic Con 2026 panel to lay out where the G.I. Joe Classified Series is heading next, beginning with the first mainline wave planned for 2027. Along with the figure reveals, Hasbro shared new renders and promotional images that give us a closer look at the head sculpts, weapons, and other accessories included with each release. The full wave is scheduled to go up for preorder on October 13 at 1 PM ET, with the figures expected in early 2027. The panel also reached beyond the mainline assortment. The 40th anniversary of G.I. Joe: The Movie will be a major part of the Retro Collection in 2027, bringing updated versions of familiar characters based on their classic appearances. I’m also curious about Hasbro’s hints at some of the stranger corners of G.I. Joe history, especially since Classified has already shown that even an obscure character can make for a great figure when the design is handled well. Hasbro also discussed story connections between certain characters and factions, potentially setting up more releases beyond those shown during the panel. There was a lot packed into the presentation, so we’re walking through the reveals, updated looks, anniversary plans, and other details in the order Hasbro presented them.

Hasbro gave us a better idea of just how big the G.I. Joe Classified Series Dreadnok Thunder Machine is going to be. Measuring 21.3 inches long without the thruster flame effect, the Thunder Machine is considerably larger than the VAMP and A.W.E. Striker and nearly matches the Snow C.A.T. in length. It’s also longer than the Cobra H.I.S.S., which should give collectors a pretty good idea of how much display space they’ll need. Hasbro also mentioned that an early painted test shot is on display at the Pop Insider booth during NYCC.

If you’re planning to pick up the Dreadnok Thunder Machine, Hasbro confirmed that the preorder window closes on October 23 at 11:59 PM ET. The vehicle is currently available through Hasbro Pulse, with an estimated delivery window of late summer to early fall 2027. That gives collectors a little more time to get their orders in before the preorder window closes.

Hasbro shared some new promotional images of the Night Force Sneak Peek, showing the reconnaissance specialist in action. One shot has him climbing over a chain-link fence, while another shows him taking cover with his weapon ready. The updated figure trades the oversized periscope from the vintage toy for more modern reconnaissance equipment, although Hasbro mentioned that they also included a nod to his original design.

Here’s another look at Night Force Sneak Peek, including a rear view that shows off his backpack and equipment. Hasbro also shared a shot of him moving through an urban environment with his rifle. Sneak Peek was part of Walmart Collector Con earlier today, and although the online stock sold out quickly, Hasbro reassured fans that more figures are coming, including a retail release expected in April 2027.

These new promotional shots show Flatline putting his unusual medical equipment to work. Hasbro had some fun explaining the character’s accessories during the panel, including his nitrous-powered bone saw and a defibrillator hammer powered by a drill battery pack. It’s exactly the kind of over-the-top equipment you’d expect a Dreadnok medic to carry, and I love that Hasbro is having this much fun expanding the Dreadnok roster.

There are some great little Easter eggs hidden among Flatline’s accessories. His medical equipment includes a device labeled “Surgery for Dummies,” while his pouch features a Millville Veterinary Clinic patch. Hasbro explained that the Millville reference connects Flatline to the G.I. Joe comic storyline involving Cobra Commander’s return and the establishment of a new Springfield. There’s also a little handheld device displaying “Game Over,” which Hasbro described as a machine Flatline uses to track surgical information. It’s a pretty funny collection of details for a character who apparently wasn’t very good at his original profession.

Hasbro gave us another look at Dreadnok Flatline, the newest addition to the G.I. Joe Classified Series and the Dreadnoks’ very own medic. A failed veterinarian who now patches up the Dreadnoks, Flatline comes with a collection of medical equipment that’s about as ridiculous as you’d expect from this crew. The panel included a look at his digital render and accessories, along with confirmation that this mainline figure will go up for preorder on Tuesday, October 13 at 1 PM ET.

The panel moved on to its product reveals.

Hardball is finally joining the G.I. Joe Classified Series, and Hasbro has kept his baseball-inspired design intact. The digital render shows him wearing his white baseball jersey with blue trim, matching cap, and military-style pants. He also comes with his signature grenade launcher, a baseball bat with the G.I. Joe logo, a backpack, and additional weapons. Hasbro confirmed that the grenade launcher is an all-new sculpt, which is great to hear for a character whose weapon is such an important part of his original design.

Here’s our first look at Hardball in Hasbro’s promotional photography, showing how his baseball uniform works alongside the military gear. The white and blue jersey is a nice callback to the vintage figure, while the updated backpack, tactical pants, and weapons bring him into the Classified Series. You can also see his grenade launcher resting over his shoulder and the baseball bat stored vertically on his backpack.

Hasbro included a fun little detail with Hardball’s baseball bat, which features the G.I. Joe logo running along the barrel. It’s a great accessory for the character, especially since his baseball background is such a big part of his identity. The figure can hold the bat with both hands, and it’s also designed to store on his backpack when he’s carrying his grenade launcher.

Here’s another look at Hardball with his baseball bat, this time posed sitting on a stack of sandbags with his backpack removed and resting beside him. It’s a fun shot that gives us a chance to see the bat alongside the rest of his gear. Hardball is part of the first mainline wave of 2027, with preorders opening October 13 at 1 PM ET and an expected release in early 2027.

Hasbro revealed a new version of Shipwreck for the G.I. Joe Classified Series, this time taking inspiration from his more tactical Dollar General exclusive figure. It’s a very different look from his classic sailor outfit, with a dark blue sweater, black tactical pants, and plenty of military gear. The digital render also shows his alternate headgear, firearms, knife, and other accessories. I like that Hasbro is revisiting some of these less familiar versions of classic characters rather than simply releasing the same designs again.

Here’s our first look at the new Shipwreck in Hasbro’s promotional photography, standing aboard a boat in the rain. The dark blue sweater and tactical equipment give him a more modern military appearance, while the beard keeps him recognizable as Shipwreck. It’s a nice change of pace from the traditional sailor version, and the nautical setting works particularly well for this figure.

This close-up gives us a better look at Shipwreck’s head sculpt and night vision goggles, complete with green lenses. Hasbro specifically mentioned the goggles during the panel as part of the updated naval theme. You can also see the texture sculpted into his dark blue sweater and the strap running across his chest. It’s a pretty substantial departure from his vintage appearance, but one that fits the more tactical direction Hasbro is taking with this release.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Shipwreck without his parrot! This time, Hasbro has given him a new feathered companion named Althea, a reference to the classic G.I. Joe animated episode “There’s No Place Like Springfield.” In that storyline, Althea was Shipwreck’s supposed daughter, who was eventually revealed to be a Synthoid. It’s a wonderfully obscure callback, and I love that Hasbro is digging this deep into G.I. Joe history for the new figure.

Here’s another look at Shipwreck in action, running through the rain with his rifle. The promotional photography gives us a better sense of how the new tactical outfit works on the figure, particularly the dark blue sweater, black pants, and military equipment. Shipwreck will be part of the first mainline wave of 2027, with preorders opening October 13 at 1 PM ET and an expected release in early 2027.

The Oktober Guard is finally getting some attention in the G.I. Joe Classified Series with the addition of Daina! Hasbro showed off her digital render, featuring her white tank top, camouflage pants, and military gear. She comes with multiple firearms, a backpack, and interchangeable helmeted and unhelmeted head options. Hasbro also mentioned that Daina is the first part of a larger storyline connecting the Oktober Guard to Darklonia, so it sounds like there could be more developments involving this team in the future.

Here’s our first look at Daina in Hasbro’s promotional photography, carrying her rifle over her shoulder with a fully loaded backpack. The figure keeps her recognizable military appearance, including the white tank top and camouflage pants. It’s great to see Hasbro bringing the Oktober Guard into the Classified Series, especially since this team has such a long history in G.I. Joe comics.

Here’s a closer look at Daina’s unhelmeted head sculpt, with her short blonde hair and serious expression. The figure is shown holding her rifle, and you can also see the large backpack and additional equipment behind her. I really like that Hasbro included both head options, especially since the helmet and blonde hair give collectors two very different ways to display the character.

This shot gives us a look at Daina with her alternate blonde hair sculpt instead of the military helmet. Hasbro confirmed that collectors will be able to swap between the two options, which is a nice addition for displaying the figure. She’s also shown kneeling with her rifle, giving us a better look at the camouflage pants, tactical gear, and articulation.

This close-up shows Daina wearing her military helmet, complete with the red star insignia and white decorative details on the front. It’s a great callback to the Oktober Guard’s Soviet-era origins and helps distinguish her from the regular G.I. Joe team. Daina is part of the first mainline wave of 2027, with preorders opening October 13 at 1 PM ET and an expected release in early 2027.

The Cobra H.E.A.T. Viper is finally joining the G.I. Joe Classified Series, bringing some serious anti-armor firepower to Cobra’s ranks. Hasbro showed off the figure’s digital render, featuring the familiar yellow and black uniform, heavy boots, and specialized helmet. He comes with a massive anti-tank launcher, backpack, and an alternate unmasked head. I love that Hasbro is continuing to expand Cobra’s specialized troops, especially with characters that have such distinctive designs from the vintage line.

Here’s our first look at the H.E.A.T. Viper in action, holding his enormous anti-tank launcher while surrounded by burning rubble. Hasbro mentioned during the panel that this weapon is designed to take out tanks, and the figure certainly looks equipped for the job. The launcher is connected to his backpack by a flexible hose, and the updated yellow uniform retains the black straps and armor details of the original figure.

This side and rear view gives us a better look at the H.E.A.T. Viper’s equipment, including the large backpack and hose connecting to his launcher. Hasbro has kept the yellow and black design of the vintage figure while adding more detail to the uniform and tactical gear. The figure is also part of the first mainline wave of 2027, with preorders opening October 13 at 1 PM ET.

Here’s a look at the H.E.A.T. Viper wearing his alternate helmet, complete with the distinctive goggles and face covering. Hasbro confirmed that the figure includes both a helmeted and unmasked head, giving collectors a couple of display options. He’s shown here seated among the rubble with his launcher, and I really like how closely the helmet follows the original character’s design.

This close-up gives us a better look at the H.E.A.T. Viper’s helmet, with its black horizontal stripes, goggles, and yellow face covering. It’s one of those unusual Cobra designs that immediately takes me back to the vintage toy line. Hasbro has updated the sculpt and detailing without losing what made the original figure recognizable, which is exactly what I like seeing from the Classified Series.

Preorders for all five G.I. Joe Classified Series figures open Tuesday, October 13, at 1 PM ET.

The panel then moved into its name-only reveals.

Hasbro also confirmed that Chuckles is coming to the G.I. Joe Classified Series, sharing character artwork during the panel. The team had plenty to say about the character, including a fun reference to Chuckles hurling a HISS missile at a HISS Tank.

Hasbro also revealed Retro Zarana for the G.I. Joe Classified Series, sharing character artwork inspired by her appearance in the 1987 G.I. Joe: The Movie. The artwork features her purple outfit, short hair, and signature punk-inspired look.

Tunnel Rat is also getting a new G.I. Joe Classified Series figure inspired by his appearance in the 1987 G.I. Joe: The Movie. Hasbro shared character artwork showing him emerging from a tunnel with his machine gun, wearing his green shirt, blue pants, and signature bandana.

Ambush is also joining the line.

Hasbro also announced Ninja Force Storm Shadow and Billy Kessler for the G.I. Joe Classified Series. The reveal featured artwork of the vintage Ninja Force Storm Shadow figure alongside Billy, Cobra Commander’s son, who has a long history with Storm Shadow in the G.I. Joe comics. Both were name-only reveals, with no figure renders shown.
