Beast Man Teased on Donatello’s Turtles of Grayskull Card Art

Beast Man Turtles of Grayskull figure is teased on Donatello’s card art, giving us a glimpse of what this figure will look like!

We know that MOTU Origins line features card art teases for future figures and it looks like the Turtles of Grayskull is following suit! Since the insanely talented MOTU illustrator Roy Juarez and team We discovered that Shredder’s Slime Pit was teased on the Mutated He-Man card art and, getting a closer look at Donatello’s card art, Beast Man is teased and he looks freakin amazing! We know that Beast Man is in the works for the line as a poster that accompanied the reveals showed Beast Man on the MOTU side but we were unsure what style he’d take after but the card art gives us a glimpse!

Beast Man Tease

Beast Man is clad in a Samurai inspired outfit! Featuring a traditional samurai face mask and armor, the art for this figure really leans into the cultural aspect of the lore. Samurai masks, called mempo, were facial armor worn by Japanese Samurai warriors. They were made out of leather and iron and were designed not only to protect the warrior’s face but also intimidate their enemies. Beast Man also features traditional Samurai waist armor and the entire illustration is one of the best from this line!

Donatello

Donatello’s package front is the same as Leonardo’s with the traditional red rock burst in Turtle inspired colors, and the additional illustrations on the front of both He-Man and Leonardo dawning his new MOTU gear as welI. It also has bothe the MOTU and TMNT logos on the front blister bubble. This one is titled ” Donatello Heroic Turtle-At-Arms!”

Donatello’s rear artwork features him in his Man At Arms inspired MOTU gear with his large mace battling against Beast Man wearing some sort of mask! Beast Man looks really cool in his Samurai inspired outfit! 2 Eternian planets can been in the background, as well as the entrance to Castle Grayskull!

Looking at the two panels together, you can seean epic site as Donatello is ready to open a can of whoopass on Beast Man!

Up close and personal, you can see the furry loain cloth and also some fur around the shoulder and chest armor, which is a nod to the early concepts of Man-At-Amrs. Beast Man’s mask, if you look close, is also a nod to his MOTU counterpart. The detail around the eyes and the chest armor, which is also furry, harken back to the vintage MOTU Beast Man.
