Indiana Jones Retro Collection Raiders of the Lost Ark Indy In Hand Review

We recently obtained Wave 1 of the Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark Retro Collection, but one important member of the Wave was missing, well that was of course Indy himself! I was lucky enough to raid some tombs today and unearth Indy for this Indiana Jones Retro Collection Raiders of the Lost Ark Indy In Hand Review. This is the quintessential version of the Kenner 1982 Indiana Jones Action Figure and will take you back in time! The charm and simplicity of these 7 POA Indiana Jones figures is something that I really love about them, because they transport you back to a simpler time in our childhood where we would spend hours recreating the adventures from the movies in our own backyards! I picked my particular figure at Target, but he is available for preorder at the retailers like EE and Amazon, listed below and is set to be released in early April!
These new Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark Retro Collection figures are so much fun! Wave 1 is a total blast from the past and look incredible together!
Indiana Jones- Raiders of the Lost Ark- Wave 1
This is the quintessential version of the Kenner 1982 Indiana Jones Action Figure! A stunning recreation of the vintage original, Indy comes with his signature whip, and revolver. He includes his quick draw action feature as well. It is amazing to actually have a minty fresh version of Indy, as vintage ones sell for a high price on the after market! I really love his classic outfit with his brown leather jacket, white shirt and tan pants. He has 2 holsters, one for his revolver on his right hip, and a hook for his whip on his left hip.
It’s so much fun to pose Indy with his signature whip and revolver! Hasbro has not however fixed the hand grip as the accessories easily fell out of his hands, which is no fun when you are trying to activate his quick draw action and that little gun goes flying across the room. You can see what Indy looks like from all four sides, a very simple figure indeed but classic none the less.
Packaging
The Card Back is a beautiful recreation of the original Kenner Indiana Jones figures of the 1980’s except they are made of a very thin cardboard, just like the Star Wars Retro Collection. I am glad that they keep the design true to the original with the logo, and hieroglyphic piping around the edges. The Adventures of Indiana Jones logo looks so cool as well. And of course, it includes the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” logo as well! There is an very classic image of Indy on the front. as well as a graphic about his quick draw action. The back features a classic cross sell image of the rest of wave 1 which includes Marion Ravenwood, Toht, Belloq and the German Mechanic.

Indy Up Close and Personal
Let’s go ahead and look at all the details of this Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark Retro collection figure up close, shall we?
Head
His head features that Harrison ford, Kenner style vintage sculpt with his classic brown Fedora. “Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory.” Yes this classic brown Fedora hat is part of the head sculpt for Indy, but is a quintessential part of his character.
Chest & Back
You can see Indy is wearing his essential dark brown, almost black leather jacket and dusty white button shirt underneath. That back has some simple sculpted details and includes the Hasbro product stamp.
Arms, Waist & Legs
Arms
His arms are clad in his leather jacket. If you pull up on Indy’s right arm it triggers the “quick draw” action feature. Unfortunately, when activating the quick draw, the grip on his hands on his accessories was and sent his little gun goes flying across the room.
Holsters
Indy includes holsters on each of his hips. On his right hip, he has a holster for his revolver, which you can fanagile in but it is loose. On his left hip is a hook for his whip.
Waist & Legs
His waist features a thin molded belt that wraps around the back and is connected to the moldered holder and hook on each of his hips. They are all painted in dark brown. He is wearing tan pants and has on light brown shoes. You can see here his simple knee articulation. But at the time this was a huge improvement to the previous 5 POA Star Wars Kenner figures, because it allowed Indy and his friends to bend their knees when they sat in vehicles!
Accessories
Indy comes with his signature whip and revolver. The revolver is made of a soft plastic and was little bent on the tip. The whip has a large cone on the end which is really hard for Indy to hold in hands,. I know these were design after the vintage accessories, which i do appreciate, but they could have adjusted the whip a bit for Indy to hold it in his hand better as is kind of just falls out.
