MOTU Origins & Turtles of Grayskull Lineup + SDCC 2024 Exclusive Two-Bad
The MOTU 2024 lineup consists of some amazing figures for the Masters of the Universe Origins, Masterverse, and Turtles of Grayskull line!
Special thanks to Toy Hunters Hollow for the heads up that our friends from Brazil, canaldosrosmineiros, have posted a lineup that includes some known and unknown Masters of the Universe Origins figures! We’ve known since SDCC 2023 that Mattel plans to finish the Masters of the Universe Origins line on Mattel Creations but we were unsure what the lineup of figures could include, until now. We know that Rokkon is coming to the line but there are several on the list that are new figures! We also got some early information on the Turtles of Grayskull Single and Deluxe figures for Wave 3 and the Turtles of Grayskull Wave 4 lineup! We might be getting a preview of what is to come for the March 2024 MOTU reveals and this is very exciting!

MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Figures
There are some cool known and unknown figures coming to the MOTU Origins line!
Sy-Klone
Sy-Klone has been teased quite a bit and his latest appearance is also featured in the Eternia playset box art as he descending from above Viper Tower.

Sy-Klone SDCC 2023 Reveal
Music to collectors ears was the reveal of Sk-Klone!

His torso will still pop off and he actually spins. He comes with 2 extra hands that are tornados, shield, red cyclone rings like what came with the MOTU Classics figure. You pop his torso up and he spins! Sy-Klone maintains all the same articulation as the rest of the figures. He has is lenticular sticker on his chest as well.

Thank to motu.revolution for posting a comparison of the Sy-Klone Origins and vintage figures!

Sy-Klone Card Tease
This is the 3rd time Sy-Klone has been teased on MOTU Card art! Sy-Klone is a member of the Heroic Warriors. A blue-skinned cyborg with the ability to spin at super-speed and generate a whirlwind, he is also able to spin different parts of his body individually and was dubbed the ‘Heroic fist-flinging tornado’.

We’ve seen Sy-Klone on a couple different card art montages, including Jitzu’s where if you were not paying attention to who was flying in from the side, you would definitely miss him. I think He-Man can stand on his own defending against Jitzu’s chopping fist but Sy-Klone is there for backup! We also saw him in the most recent release of the Flying Fists He-Man card art where he is taking an offensive pose raising his shield high up in the air.

Extendar has been teased on many a card and box art, which the most recent tease coming from the Eternia Playset box art as he is seen atop Grayskull Tower!

Extendar SDCC2023 Reveal
Coming Spring 2024, Extendar’s extension pieces are separate parts to help maintain elbow articulation. He has removable parts just like the rest of the figures.

His head and torso extend from inside his body and he comes with his transforming shield.

Extendar Teases
We first saw Extendar on Kobra Khan’s card back art! These are some spectacular character teases! With two appearances, it is more likely we see Extendar coming to the line soon and we can’t wait!

He is also teased on Squeeeze’s and Spikor’s card art!

Extendar
Extendar was also a very unique figure and looked nothing like previous figures that were released in the line. Taking on more of a knight appearance, this figure came out very late in the line and was not featured in the cartoon but he does have a mini comic backstoryAccording to the Wiki Grayskull:
Occasionally referred to in comics as the ‘Tower of Power’, Extendar was introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1986, at a stage when the toy line was breaking away from its roots in pure fantasy, and introducing more robotic and mechanical characters. Given that the accompanying cartoon series had been cancelled by the time his toy reached the market, he never appears in animated form. However, he features prominently in various comics and storybooks, and is introduced in the Mattel mini-comic “The Warrior Machine”. This comic showcases him as a friend of Prince Adam who is an ordinary knight, but yearns for special powers of his own after witnessing the skills of the Horde warrior Dragstor. Hordak subsequently grants his wish and subjects him to scientific experiments which turn him into a mechanical cyborg warrior with the power of extension. Invincible at full height, he is set upon He-Man, but manages to throw off Hordak’s curse and join the Heroic Warriors. Subsequent mini-comics portray him as one of the most powerful members of his ranks.
Extendar
Extendar’s gimmick was pretty cool! He could grow larger by pulling on his neck, arms, and legs.

Demo Man
A surprise coming to the MOTU Origins lines is Demo-Man! Coming from the earliest of concept sketches from Mark Taylor, Demo Man was a conceptual design. Seen below is the sketch and MOTU classics version of Demo Man.
According to the Wiki Grayskull:
Realizing his Pupil Keldor had not intention of releasing him from Despondos, Hordak merged him with an extra-dimensional being called Demo-Man. While this saved Keldor’s life, it also drove him temporarily insane, and convinced him to open a portal to Despondos and lead what he thought were “his people” to Eternia. Hordak intended to use this ruse as a means to escape once the portal was opened, but the new merged being “Skeletor” was quickly defeated by Oo-larr, the jungle He-Man, and Hordak remained trapped. Soon after, with help of Evil Lyn, Skeletor gained control of the powerful spirit inside of him, increasing his abilities ten-fold. He was now the true Overlord of Evil and one of the most dangerous men on Eternia!

SDCC Exclusive Two-Bad
According to the image, it looks like Two-Bad will be this years San Diego Comic Con 2024 exclusive! Two-Bad has been teased several times on MOTU Origins card art! Two-Bad is a two-headed Evil Warrior who is basically two different beings sharing the same body. In some ways he is like Siamese twins, although both halves of his body are very different-looking creatures who appear to be from entirely different species. His right half is a blue creature, while his left half is a purple, scaly creature with an eyebrow-like yellow band on his forehead. His two heads have the habit of continuously arguing with one another. Two-Bad first appeared on the Battlefield Warriors box art as he looks like he is in pursuit of He-Man.

We then got to see him on the MOTU Origins Deluxe Terror Claw Skeletor card back art where he was backing up Terror Claw Skeletor with Spikor by his side in a battle against Flying Fist He-Man that continued on his deluxe card back. We now know that Spikor is coming to the line, so it’s only natural that Two Bad could following not too far behind!

He recently appeared on the card art of Mini Comic Roboto so hopefully that means the figure is not too far off in the distant future.

Roboto may have strength of steel, but it’s his cybernetically enhanced heart that makes him one of Eternia’s bravest (swipe to see full artwork)

Two-Bad is introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1985. Originally marketed as the “double-headed evil strategist” it is implied he is a master of strategy due to being two warriors in one, but his main trait in all story media is that his two heads have a habit of endlessly arguing with each other, meaning he has always generally been used for comic relief.

Turtles of Grayskull Deluxe Figures
There are listing for the Turtles of Grayskull deluxe figures, which could be the Wave 3 and Wave 4 Target and Walmart exclusives!
Wave 3 Deluxe Exclusives
Splinter (Target Exclusive)
Splinter has got to be included in this new subline as the Turtles need their sensei! I can’t wait to see how Splinter turns out for this line! How will they MOTUize him? Will he be flocked or not? So many questions, but to suffice to say because he is a deluxe figure, nothing is off the table at this point!

Leatherhead (Walmart Exclusive)
Leatherhead, our favorite Cajun Gator is joining the line! He is one of the two exclusive figures that we actually got a tease for in the Mini Comic, which we covered in the Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins Mini Comic Teases article. The strange thing is that Leatherhead looks rather in his normal state. You can see his illustration in the image below. I can’t wait to see what this MOTU crossover version of Leatherhead will look like, especially since he is a deluxe figure! Here we can see the tease for Leatherhead as he struggles to hold on to Mutated He-Man

Pictured below is how he appeared in the 1980’s cartoon series and his vintage 80’s Playmates toy version.

Wave 4
The Wave for deluxe Turtles of Grayskull figures are reported to be Mer-Man and a mashup of Rock Steady and Bebop, which might use the Two-Bad Origins buck!
Deluxe Mer-Man
In the Mini Comic that came packed with Wave 2, Belly of the Beast, we got a tease for Mer-Man. You will notice that Mer-Man has a tall! They reused Lady Slither’s tail in this Mutated version of Mer-Man! So this gives us an idea of what the deluxe Walmart Exclusive version of Mer-Man might look like!

Deluxe Rocksteady / Bebop: Two-Bad Style Figure
This new deluxe Target exclusive has got to be the coolest name on the Wave 4 list! Looks like we will be getting a Two-Bad style TMNT MOTU Origins crossover figure. This also means great news for Two-Bad fans out there! In the MOTU Origins line as it only makes sense that if Mattel is developing the two headed buck, that they use it for both Bebop /Rocksteady and of course Two-Bad! This new deluxe figure is going to be incredible when it comes out and we can’t wait to see what they did with him! We have an idea of what a Two-Bad style figure for the MOTU Origins TMNT crossover line would look like from some photoshop fun by the Toy Sorceress herself!

MOTU Origins, Masterverse, and Minis
It looks like the figure assortments are also called out for the MOTU Origins, Masterverse, and Minis figures!
