Check our in depth review of the New Eternia Battle Armor Masterverse He-Man!
Adding one more figure to the New Eternia line, this Masterverse Battle Armor He-Man is a reimagined version of an older, battle torn warrior clad in some amazing armor! As seen during Day 3 of the Masterverse Heroes Reveals, our Toy Habits informant was spot on again when we broke the news of the Battle Armor He-Man coming to the Masterverse line back in February! The Battle Armor He-Man looks amazing and features and older, wiser bearded He-Man! Let’s dive and and take a closer look at the most powerful man in the universe clad in Battle Armor!

Box and Art
The figure comes packed in the standard Masterverse window display box where you can see all of this weapons and accessories. Featuring a wind blown illustration of He-Man holding his axe in his left hand, this concept of He-Man plays into the older nature of the figure sculpt overall. The skyscape is an eery orange color and you can also see a Skeleton Warrior and another creature starring up at He-Man. You can also see the cross sell of figures for this assortment, all which are up for preorder at various retailers. If you look closely, the He-Man head sculpt has a darker beard and it looks like they used one of the earlier production images for the back of the box.

They really nailed the art on the side of the box, which features a wind blown Battle Armor He-Man with his shield stowed on his back and his axe in hand. The face really matches the figure in this illustration.

Sculpting a new head and armor parts for He-Man really changes the look and this particular version is a deviation from previous Battle Armor He-Man figures as he is clad in armor all around.

Using the same buck as the New Eternia Viking He=Man, you will notice similar parts such as the long leather like loin cloth and the bigger boots with the knife in the right ankle. From the oversized shoulder armor to the loin armor that just protects his thighs, he looks amazing and ready for battle.

Head Sculpt
The head sculpt is brand new and features a combed look for He-Man’s hair and a beard that is reminiscent of the Masters of the Universe Classics King He-Man figure. There is a deep scar under his right eye and combined with the determined facial sculpt, he looks like he has unfinished business to take care of. The hair features a dark brown wash, which adds to the battle torn look of the figure. The back of the head is reminiscent of the vintage figure with the shape of the hair sculpt coming down to his shoulders.

Chest and Back
His chest features an angular armor design with swappable chest places. His back features a new port so you can stow his shield and the design looks very much like the head of an axe.

Changing Chest Plates
Swapping the chest plates to achieve his battle damaged look is very easy! They put some nice detail on the underside of his chest, which looks like a combination of metal and circuits. to swap this armor, you simply remove the larger front plate that is used to frame his armor, then you can easily pop off his clean armor plate and replace it with scarred plate.

Arms and Shoulders
The lower torso is also armored up and his shoulder includes a new large piece of removable armor, giving him a fiercer warrior like appearance. This piece is also removable so you can change up the look of the figure. He now is looking more like his Masters of the Universe Classics design.

Left Bracer
His forearm bracer on his left arm has a new port for to hold his shield as well! In an orange and brown color scheme, it blends in with the figure nicely, which adds a splash of color that is needed on the figure.

Waist
He also features a loin cloth that also includes removable waist armor. The lion design on this waist armor is like a belt buckle that makes the piece so much more interesting. Set off in a deep gold, the lion’s head design has a layered look, which gives it a ton of depth and dimension.

Legs
Since this entire figure is a reuse of the New Eternia Viking He-Man buck, he features the same sculpt but the boots are a different color scheme!

Weapons and Accessories
He includes his power sword, axe, shield with vintage sticker art that was on the Dragon Walker, removable armor pieces, boot knife, battle damages chest plate and 2 swappable hands.

Shield
The art from He-Man’s shield is a muddied version of the vintage sticker art that was on the Dragon Walker. It would be amazing if Mattel decided to tease new toys in Origins through Masterverse figures but that is wishful thinking. Having this coat of arms reference on He-Man’s shield was a great surprise and a nod to the vintage vehicle! Could this be a tease for a future reveal?

Axe, Dagger, and Power Sword
He-Man’s Power Sword, dagger, and axe are a reuse of the New Eternia Viking He-Man weapons but in a different color scheme. The gold handle on the dagger matches the lion belt buckle in color, tying the two together. The axe handle has been given an upgraded wrap, which give it a more finished look.

Head Swaps
Having read reactions to the head sculpt on the figure, you either love it or hate it. The great news is that the New Eternia Viking He-Man and the 40th Anniversary He-Man head sculpts fit nicely on the figure so you can give He-Man a different look to change up the display. The cool part, with the 40th anniversary head sculpt, is that you can achieve the MOTU Classics look we mentioned earlier.

Photography Fun
Featuring photography from the one and only Toy Sorceress, she loves to have fun posing these figures in battle scenes so let’s take a look at her wonderful work!
