Star Wars Retro Collection A New Hope #3 Multipack Canceled or Not?!

Back in March, Retro Collection Star Wars fans rejoiced as the latest A New Hope #3 Multipack went up for preorder at Target.com. This amazing new set contained 5 never before made figures by Kenner (Hasbro) and our first Cantina Alien in Retro Collection form. The set sold out instantaneously and for those collectors lucky enough to have scored a set when preorders opened, they celebrated. Well, fast forward less than 2 months and the delivery date was delayed several times by Target, then they sent out the dreaded “You order has been canceled due to vendor issues” email. Now this was very upsetting to collectors, but given the current state of the world, not too surprising. Hasbro has also temporarily suspended preorders on Hasbro Pulse on all their preorder products as well. So the maddening part of this story is that this set that was canceled on all who preordered it has been found in store! Thanks to Corey Yarnel for posting these images of the set he found in store. There is no explanation as to why if the set is still available then how come Target did not ship them out to those of us who preordered it?! Has the Star Wars Retro Collection A New Hope #3 Multipack Canceled or Not?! We explore that now.
According to Corey Yarnel “I’m back home now and just cracked this set open. I’m very happy with how these all turned out….I’m quite pleased with Luke’s head sculpt too after having it in hand to see closer. It should be noted that the depth of the box is narrow like the last two 6pk releases, which fits all six figures perfectly. My hats off to Steve EvansChris Reiff and the Hasbro team for an excellent job!! Bravo!! Only bummer now is tha I must wait for a second score to open any since these cardbacks are all so perfectly nice. I hope my luck today is just a sign of what’s to be coming to all US Target stores for everyone very soon. Be sure to save the first pic with the UPC for easy scanning in stores when kindly asking for help.” So he picked this up in store. So has this set been canceled? By the looks of things it has not. But it was canceled for all who preordered. As you can see Corey Yarnel found a set in store, and they look incredible. Does this give us hope that this set might come back or perhaps?

Hot off the heals off the New York Toy Fair 2025 reveals, Hasbro has released their Star Wars Retro Collection A New Hope #3 Multipack Official Images! This multipack set includes mostly never before made characters that were never made for the vintage Kenner figure line and one cantina alien! The new wave includes the Rebel Fleet Trooper, Han in Stormtrooper outfit, Yavin Ceremony Luke, Walrus Man, Sandtrooper and Dr. Evazan. Now you will be able to fill out your Cantina scene or Death Star display with some incredible Retro Collection figures! Yavin Ceremony Luke
At the end of A New Hope, Luke, Han and Chewie get awarded with metals in the Yavin Rebel temple. Yavin Luke looks really great in his yellow jacket and removeable honor metal. The photo of Luke in his Yavin outfit looks great on the Cardback.
With Luke’s removeable metal, you can recreate the moment he was getting awarded for his bravery!
Han Solo In Stormtrooper Outfit
Han Solo In Stormtrooper Outfit was always a figure that Kenner collectors wanted. Luke in Stormtrooper disguise was made by Kenner in the last 17 figures of the original vintage line, but they never made Han Solo. Hasbro picked a great image of Han Solo in his Storm Trooper outfit as he has that sassy look on his face!
The new Retro Collection version of Han Solo’s Storm Trooper helmet is made of a soft plastic and you can fit it easily on Han’s head. Han comes packed with a blaster gun and a large rifle!
Here we can see my display of the Stan Solo version of the Han in Stormtrooper outfit in the Toy Sorceress’ personal display. We will be able to recreate a cool scene like this with the Kenner version but we would still need a Luke in Storm Trooper disguise as well.
Rebel Fleet Trooper
Rebel Fleet Trooper was always been a fan favorite figure that Kenner collectors have been wanting for years, but was never made by Kenner until now. Here we can see the new Kenner Retro Collection version. The cardback looks great and it’s funny how the helmet on the trooper in the photo is way too big and is covering his eyes!
Photos of the Rebel Trooper, and they did a great job capturing a vintage Kenner look!
Here we can see my display of the Stan Solo version of the Rebel Fleet Troopers along with a couple vintage and custom Kenner figures from the Toy Sorceress’ personal display. They look great in the Star Wars The Vintage Collection Star Wars: A New Hope Tantive IV Hallway Playset which you can purchase on Amazon here. So you will be able to do this with the Kenner version as well!

Walrus Man
Now Walrus Man is the only figure on the reveal list that is from the original vintage Kenner line. We all remember this cooky version of the figure that didn’t resemble the way he looked in the movie at all, but we all still have fond nostalgic memories of this figure! The new Retro Collection Cardback is looking much better and again you should be able to peel the red “Retro” sticker off.
This is the only figure from the box set that is from the original Kenner vintage line and this is our first Retro Collection alien!
Sandtrooper
The Sandtroopers were found combs the sands of the Tatooine desert looking for the droids who stole the Death Star Plans. Kenner never released this character in the original vintage line until now.
This new Sandtrooper looks incredible and I love his new rifle he comes with. He also has his signature backpack and orange shoulder pauldron.

Dr. Evazan
The last Retro Collection figure in this reveal is Dr. Evazan. Dr. Evazan was featured in the Cantina scene in a New Hope and as you know, it did not end well for him. He went up against Obi Wan Kenobi and get the bad end of a lightsaber!
This is a first for the Kenner Retro line, and he can fill out your Cantina scene nicely!
